Well, I usually don't get into those kinds of situations. I avoid relationships and usually try to figure out what somebody wants to do instead of suggesting something myself. Usually when I want something to happen and they end up wanting to do something else, I feel a bit sad for a while and then forget about it.

How do you deal with a situation where you're to reject someone? (Yes I know it's basically stealing GW's question, but it's still different.)

Depends how close I am to the person, how I feel. When I broke up with my boyfriend of two years I dealt with it by hating myself for a few weeks, then when he stopped pretending to act like an adult I felt better about my decision.
A person I'm not close to? I say no, then I feel awkward around them for the rest of eternity. Feels like I ruined everything, even if I didn't change anything significantly and they aren't actually upset with me.
Disappointing people is my least favorite thing.

Should I call in sick? the answer is no

Far from it. To believe that in all the ~300 sextillion stars of the universe we are the only intelligent life forms would be the height of arrogance.

(Also, us being intelligent as a species could be debatable. )

My favorite comic book villain would probably have to be Dr. Octopus. Kind of weird, but he's the only real Spiderman villain who actually has any sticking power. Sure, he's insane, but he's an insane genius, with four super-powered arms fused with his back. That in certain versions of the comic, he can control telepathically from miles away.
