Edit -I got excited that the ranged touch might actually have missed me due to the bonus from my shield, until I reread Stunned and saw the -2 AC and no Dex. Does Paavo's stance convey any additional AC benefit by chance?
He wasn't within my threatened range, I don't threaten while stunned, and you dropped your shield when you got stunned.
But, you made your Fort save, so none of that matters unless the 5 points of damage was enough to kill you outright.

Hmm, Paavo should get to take an immediate action. He came out of the stun as soon as the mage's turn started. So no Con damage.

XP!
Paavo gets 2852 XP.
Corretha, Fjodin, Gerrin and Tatsuhiro get 3450 XP, but Corretha, Gerrin and Tatsuhiro first drop down to 46863, 48836, and 45092 XP, respectively.
Edmond gets 4082 XP.

Astral Namemaker. There's no downside to not doing so.
Gerrin will likely be finishing out this segment of the game.

SWEEEEEEET. Because I couldn't afford to heal it. :/
2000 GP divided by 6 = 333 each. I owe Edmond 10 GP so he nets 343.
First order of business for me is to get something with Continual Flame cast on it, probably something like a short length of chain that I can hang from my belt, throw, hide easily, etc. Can anyone cast that? I'll pay the 50GP material component cost. Otherwise I'll have to pay Akara for it.
Are we resting for the night? Is anyone switching characters? There was lots of talk of it but...

I'm certainly glad it ran off. I have a whopping 3HP left.
I'm definitely going for a rebuild on Fjodyn. I'm undecided whether to go full Crusader, or go full Cleric. The Favored Soul is a bit too diluted for the optimization level going on here.
I think I'm leaning full Crusader as it's much more true to the concept of the character. If I went Cleric, I'd have to do something like DMM: Persist to keep the character as a front-line, melee monster and I dont really feel like dealing with all that bookkeeping =) or opening that can of processed cheese food.
Honestly, with as busy as I've been recently, I lost track. I activated it on post 118; I think it lasted a bit longer than people were giving it credit for - any chance the bonuses turned an escape into loot?

You owe me a scroll of heal at some distant point in the future when gp stops being tight, too.

You have Iron Heart Surge. Are you OK with using Saph's fix? Because really, I have no idea what on earth the RAW version is supposed to do.
What is the "Power Weapon" power you have listed on your power list?
You don't have an alignment listed, which is going to matter the next time I whack the party with a Blasphemy or something.
Mindfeeder is a weapon enhancement, not an armor enhancement. And you don't seem to have bought a lot of items in general.
Your attack bonus is rather low for the level.
And finally... set your XP to 41480.
(Jarian, you get the honor of being the last one to suffer the XP being rounded down to the precise amount to reach the lowest level currently active in the group. It probably was a bad call to begin with, and it's getting sillier each time. Your plight has eased the suffering of countless generations to come!)

I've never been of the opinion that Clerics/FSs need DMM to stay rolling... or even that it is a particularly outstanding build choice, barring Nightstick/alternative Turning source stacking. Especially with all the advance warning the party has been scrounging up lately, I think old-fashioned buffing should be viable. But your choice, obviously.

A bit late for that.

Iron Heart Surge: Saph's Fix seems reasnable, I was only going to use it as an anti-bad stuff ability.
Power Weapon: It's a power from Complete Psionics, I'll put that in.
Body Feeder: I am a silly person who didn't check what section I was in when looking for Psionic supporting things in the magic item compendium
Lack of Items:
I hate buying Magic Items and thought spending 16,000 gold on +4 wisdom at this level was a good idea.
Low Attack Bonus:
I did my own stats badly and swordsage didn't get Full BAB, robbing me of 2 BAB. I shall also change some magic item shopping options.
Unrelated, but how did Paavo reach level 11? It seems rather odd to me.

Not dying or changing characters for a long time gives you lots of xp.

Um. Thanks, I think.
If Edmond spontaneously explodes, would I come back with a new character at that same xp, or does my temporary suffering allow me the grace of level 10 at least?
Basically, there's been a whole bunch of me going "Did you remember my buff? Are you sure? I think you forgot the other one for +3 damage, and then you forgot this on the round before..." and it's getting a little tiresome. Edmond's strength was supposed to come from multiple simultaneous buffs, but it seems like they get forgotten half the time if I don't go out of my way to check all the numbers, which is... less than desirable.
I don't want to remake a character after two combats, but it's really significantly less rewarding than I thought it would be. If everyone else is happy with Edmond as it is though, then nevermind.

For the one battle I was alive for, I felt like Edmond was quite a boon. As long as you kept that little "Current Buffs" spoiler up to date, I just scrolled down to your last post while making mine and adjusted accordingly.
And I'd say the more battles you're around for the more we get used to (and therefore the less reminding needed about) your buffs.
Of course, if you're unhappy, don't suffer through it needlessly. Be someone you love being.

And also this. Don't let how much we enjoy your character determine whether you play it. I'm sure most of you enjoyed Mariah's healing spells more than Paavo's nothing spells.
I'll try to add the buffs to my own post block. I find a "Inspire Courage ends after my turn on round X" helps me remember a lot for my next turn.
Also, I still need to know if anyone can cast Continual Flame. Alternately, I need Ernir to tell me how much Akara fleeces me for it.

"Dull Grey Ioun Stones", what's left over after a proper one gets burnt out, cost 25 gp and still circle your head. Cast "Continual Flame" one one, and you now have a permanent hands-free light source!
sonofzeal, you're like a megazord of awesome and win.

Yes, but then my head looks like it's some kind of weird bug-zapper just waiting for that firefly to get close...
Sunrods will do nicely. They're cheap, disposable, easily covered, long-lasting, and provide a nice amount of light. And, having a few means that I can light 'em all at once if for some reason we need a LOT of light.
I'd actually had mundane stuff like acid flasks and sunrods on Mariah's sheet, and didn't bother copying it over to Paavo's sheet. Turns out that was a rather significant mistake...

Point. And if LARP has taught me anything, it's that glowsticks are the best throwing weapon ever.

My LARP is horror themed and a lot of the biggest action happens at night. If there's a canopy or clouds, alchemical "liquid lights" are highly sought-after and tend to get chucked around willy-nilly in the darker hours. You never know when there might be a dark elf assassin lurking behind a tree, or some terrible abomination in the bushes. And unless you want to face-check every potential ambush, chucking your "liquid light" at it is usually a fairly safe course. If it's nothing, you can always pick it back up.

Okay. Looks like you still have 1000GP to spend now, do you want to do so?
Also.
You may want to know that currently, each character is getting a new Special Item after Chargen. You get to choose the base item, but the rest is carefully calibrated according to set metrics I have written down in my DM's notes basically random.
And yes, you'll only find out what it is once the character is in the game. Everyone else did it that annoying way too.

Lots and lots of posting and very little dying.

Erm, uhh... the standard procedure for character-switching has been the death-XP-penalty. I'd have you do that. =S
May I suggest extending his chance until ECL 10?
It'll give the others one or two more combats to get used to the bonuses, and you a bigger sample size than, eh, two combats to spin him around.
And if you still don't like him then, you've minimized out the XP loss.

IMO, there's nothing better to give you that primal "kill or be killed" adrenaline buzz. Your brain might know that you're prefectly safe in a forest with some friends dressed up as elves or whatnot, but constant paranoid alertness mixed with frantic sprinting and physical combat is basically your body's cue that it had better pull out all the stops right now or there might not be a tomorrow. You never know what your body's truly capable of until you put yourself in that sort of situation... and I consider LARP preferable to joining the military or police force. Personal preference, you understand.
