Rocantor Sector is known as a secure and loyal Imperial sector, a shining example for other parts of the Expansion Region, and as such Alliance High Command has until recently seen no reason to operate there. With the loss of three major bases within a standard month earlier this year, however, Command began to listen to increasingly unorthodox proposals. One such proposal was drafted by Commander Zen Ulaniel, who suggested that operations in the sector could actually be very effective indeed.
She cited the large nonhuman population, almost entirely enslaved due to the extreme (even among Imperials) xenophobia prevalent among the majority humans of the sector, which would make excellent recruits for the Rebellion if liberated. Further, the region was considered so quiet that the sector defense fleet was often deployed to assist other sectors. Ulaniel put forward a bold plan to strike suddenly, drawing the fleet back in piecemeal so that individual battlegroups could be isolated and destroyed.
Though this plan had clear merits, and could significantly lessen pressure on other Rebel operations throughout the Expansion Region and nearby Mid Rim, Command was reluctant to commit to an effort with such a high chance of something going badly wrong. Still, the operation was eventually approved, and Commander Ulaniel was placed in charge of what limited forces the Rebellion could spare for such a risky endeavor in light of recent defeats.
Rebel Forces: Commander Ulaniel has been placed in charge of four mixed fighter squadrons, two Marauder-class Corvettes (the Can't Catch Me and the Thousand Cuts), and a CR90 Corellian Corvette (the New Day Dawning). Two full Ops teams from Alliance Special Operations have also been authorized to operate in the sector. Overall, about 250 Rebel personnel (plus informants and sympathizers) represent the whole of the Alliance's commitment. They are based out of Agitator Base, a mined-out asteroid hidden in the depths of the treacherous Kanlev Nebula.
Agitator Base Chain of Command
Commander Zen Ulaniel: Noteworthy as a Commander who, unlike many in the Alliance, did not serve in any prior conflict, Zen Ulaniel spent her childhood and young adulthood as a slave to an Imperial Moff. Buying her freedom at the end of a blaster, she went on to lead a deadly and successful mercenary group for several years before she was approached by the Alliance. She rose rapidly through the ranks, noted for her direct, informal style of command and the boldness of her tactics.
Major Ardric Losyn: Leader of a Republic volunteer brigade that made daring strikes behind CIS lines during the Clone Wars, Major Losyn defected the moment the New Order was declared and has been fighting it ever since. He was recruited by the Rebellion early in its history, and quickly rose to a command position in Alliance Special Forces. Though he technically outranks Commander Ulaniel, he defers to her as the theatre's commander. Despite his advancing age, he still leads his ops teams personally.
Captain Neebis Droiv: Captain Droiv is the flight commander for Agitator Base, providing briefings and field instructions to the starfighter squadrons. Uninterested in becoming a tracker and refused admission to the Imperial Naval Academy due to his species, he turned his tactical mind to the service of the Rebel Alliance. Organized and by-the-book, he would clash frequently with Commander Ulaniel if his respect for the chain of command didn't prevent it.
Lieutenant Nirael Sadue: Lieutenant Sadue is the cheerful young supply officer for Agitator Base. Born into crippling poverty on Iridonia, she learned to make do with less, to bargain hard, and to make friends for help in the hard times. When her family died despite her best efforts to provide for them, she left the planet and became a noted smuggler. She never forgot that Imperial tyranny had caused the starvation on Iridonia, though, and in time turned her talents to ensuring that the Rebellion is well-supplied.
Lieutenant Ran Berlo: Lieutenant Berlo is the chief medical officer for Agitator Base. A promising young medical student conscripted into the Imperial Navy, he escaped life as an unpaid ship's medic when he was rescued by Ardric Losyn, and looks up to the Duros immensely. He's not sure he wants to be on the front lines of a war, as he takes his oath to do no harm very seriously, but his gratitude to the Alliance keeps him working closely with them.
Ensign Kyien Kearna: Ensign Kearna is the feisty, energetic coordinator of Agitator Base's repair crews, working to keep the starfighter squadrons running. Frank, crass, and open, she was once a member of a pirate crew (and has the tattoos and battle scars to show for it) before most of them were arrested or killed by the Empire. No one knows for sure how long she'll stay with the Rebellion; she has a reputation for suddenly disappearing when she gets bored.
Agent Terrst Mal'Kel: The Bothan Spynet representative to Agitator Base, Agent Mal'kel is charged with analyzing intelligence gathered from across Rocantor Sector. A shadowy man of few words, he regards his post in the sector as a slight against him by his superiors, unworthy of his talents at information gathering. Confident to the point of arrogance but nearly skilled enough to back it up in full, the agent has proven his worth to the Rebel cause many times over.
Part Two: The Galactic Empire
Spoiler
Rocantor Sector was once the territory of the Confederacy of Independent Systems, and after the deactivation of the droid armies CIS holdouts maintained control of the area. The Empire, however, would brook no threat, and the successful Western Reaches Operation drove out these last Separatists from this and several other nearby sectors. The Commission for the Preservation of the New Order (better known as COMPNOR) then went to work.
COMPNOR was deeply successful. After a plague on the capital world of Rocantor centuries ago spread among the native Rocantori population, then mutated and spread to human colonists as well, the enraged humans had sold the surviving Rocantori into slavery. Playing on the lingering fear of nonhumans, COMPNOR rapidly transformed the population of Rocantor and the surrounding systems into true believers in the New Order.
The only remaining alien species native to the sector, the Dolandu, were promptly enslaved en masse despite valiant resistance from their small fleet. Since then, the sector has only become more and more secure, a model of obedience and dedication outside the Core Worlds to which many Outer Rim Moffs aspire. Whether or not the Rebel Alliance will be able to shatter that reputation remains to be seen.
Imperial Dramatis Personae
Moff Lyze Kutray: Moff Kutray is one of the few women ever to ascend to her high position, and she plans to rise still higher. Ruler of a relatively quiet sector, she often dispatches the sector fleet to aid various neighboring sectors in battling pirates or rebels. Cold, ruthless, and organized, she is a methodical commander who holds strongly to standard Imperial naval tactics. Like much of the human population of Rocantor Sector, she is deeply xenophobic.
Admiral Skulif Riswol: Admiral Riswol is a tactical genius on the fast track to promotion, prone to improvisation and known across several sectors for his competence. His methods, however, are constrained by Moff Kutray's steadfast adherence to traditional tactics, which causes considerable friction between the two. A believer in the code of the warrior, he respects worthy opponents and despises weakness; he also lacks the xenophobia of much of the sector, and frequently employs aliens.
Traipkha: Traipkha is a Mon Calamari slave purchased by Admiral Riswol, who treated him well and trained him as a bounty hunter. Deeply loyal to Riswol despite the xenophobia of the New Order, he hunts down Rebels who strike against the sector fleet to prevent them from hurting his benefactor. An excellent pilot and lethal combatant, his reputation as a force to be reckoned with would spread rapidly in any other sector. The prejudice of Rocantor, however, has doomed him to obscurity.
Minister Elos Orerre: Minister Orerre is the Imperial Minister of Propaganda for Rocantor Sector. Well-spoken, handsome, and immaculately-dressed, he is considered the face of the Empire by most citizens of the sector. Working closely with COMPNOR, he has done an excellent job of stirring up pro-Imperial fervor in his assigned region, particularly on the capital planet of Rocantor. He has also frequently demonized Rebel operations across the galaxy, making the Alliance out to be heinous, indiscriminate terrorists.

We ought to think of taking 'unified squadron' each. The feat gives you +3 to pilot, as well as another +1 for each ally within 12 squares. Galaxy at War.

edit: Also, when I get the money, I am going to "buy" Mandalorian armor (same stats as stromtrooper armor.) What really happened is that Duxlan had to ditch his armor back on Mandalore to smuggle himself off. Later down the line, Ruusaan will tell Duxlan through coms that she was able to smuggle Duxlan's armor to him. Duxlan will then send money to Ruusaan to pay for expenses
Is any of this alright with you

All: For the sake of organization, please keep all OOC out of the IC thread.
TheThan: The X-Wings are not new (they're undergoing repairs) but they may not be yours, either.
MichaelGoldclaw: I wasn't planning on major credit rewards, and I'm not sure how much Mandalorian Armor will help you as a pilot, but if you still want to pursue that it's fine with me.

It is a RP thing, Mandalorian culture involves their armor (the price for non-mandalorian iron armor is same as stormtropper armor (stat identical))
edit: since it wont help me much, how about a reduced price

If anyone has anything they want to do before the briefing, I've allowed some time for it. If not, we can jump ahead.
MichaelGoldclaw: Lowering the price wouldn't be fair for all. If you want to buy something that won't help much, it's your call.

edit: from scum and villainy: Gamemasters can reduce the cost of beskar'gam by 30,000 credits for Mandalorian heroes
So I can get medium mando armor for 7k or light for 3.5k if you will allow it

Yes. The Rebellion doesn't have factories; it is not turning out new top of the line ships. Modification is their option for improvement, and theft is their option for expansion. Lieutenant Sadue and Ensign Kearna will gladly assist in upgrading the starfighters whenever possible, as requested by the pilots.

I decided on getting light mando armor with a sealed vacuum attachment when I get 5500 credits.

You may indeed; ship upgrades are likely much more useful than equipment anyway.

edit: "on the GM's approval" so, can I get it for less.

MichaelGoldclaw: Sure, I'll drop the price. Just keep in mind that Mandalorian armor is not only useless to your character in space, but actually hurts him on the ground; Duxlan does not have the Armored Defense or Improved Armored Defense talents, so wearing Light Beskar'Gam actually reduces his Reflex Defense by 3. Even Medium Beskar'gam would hurt him, because although the Reflex Defense bonus is equal to his heroic level the Max Dex bonus is 2, meaning that his Reflex Defense would be 1 less than if he wore no armor at all. The only helpful Beskar'Gam would be Heavy, and he's not proficient (plus it's still damn expensive even dropped 30k).
Kydell: Just waiting on you as to whether you want to move the action along to the briefing or throw up a post first.

1: It is for RP
2. I was going to add vacuum seals, so it could help
3. next level, not sure yet, but I might get armor defense
