This is the Kickstarter thread for Role-Playing Games. In it, you will find discussion and promotion of crowd-funded projects related to video, board, and card games. Kickstarters for traditional tabletop RPGS will be found in the Kickstarter thread for General Role-playing, while those for other projects can be found in Arts and Crafts or Media Discussions.
As a semi-permanent and structured thread, there are two rules that need to be addressed.
Rule 1. All other board rules apply. Do not flame, do not double post, do not troll. If a Kickstarter breaks any of the board rules (e.g. explicit materials, political or religious in nature), it will be deleted, and the person posting it will receive the appropriate warning or infraction.
Rule 2.Posting Kickstarter plugs. You may post one initial link to your Kickstarter, explaining the project; for our purposes, you "own" any project you post the initial link to, whether you're the creator or not. When the project is at a week or less remaining, you may post another reminder of it. You may, of course, join in any discussion of it, though we encourage that to move to Kickstarter, itself. Do not spam the thread with reminders; if people talk about it, they talk about it.
So, it would appear that there are five kickstarter threads on the front page alone. If we could consolidate any future kickstarter announcements / advertisements here it might cut down on the clutter and make it easier to see what's going on with what everyone is interested in getting funded.
Edit: My internet connection of late is quite spotty, especially where these forums are concerned. As such until further notice this first post will not contain information on past, current, and future kickstarter projects. My apologies for the inconvenience.
A spiritual successor to Gabriel Knight? A sequel to Gray Matter? All that and more could be delivered with this new project Jensen is starting and now you, too, can help her get there as well as ensuring you get your pickings of the products she will inevitably provide.
Not just a game, but a whole range of games to satisfy your point n' click adventure needs for years to come as well as an interesting new business plan for delivering those games to the fans. Read up if you have any interest in adventure games, supernatural mysteries or fun!

Would it be worth indicating which projects have reached their targets, even if they're not completed? Yogventures and Banner Saga have both done so, for instance, whereas Nekro and some others really need some help to manage it. (I'd contribute to Nekro myself if I hadn't already broken my budget for the month backing two other projects!).
It got pretty good start (almost 50% in 2 or 3 days!?) and it has pretty uncommon setting in video game world.
I also support putting Starlight Inception to the list. It looks amazing and the last spaceship sim combat that I played was freelancer and I loved that game

Iron Lore and Titan Quest have pretty strong following to the point that Grim Dawn was announced as a project to the community... 4 years ago I think it was. It probably wasn't as detailed as this was, but it's not surprising.

Yes, Please add Nekro produced by DarkForge, a group of industry vets hailing from studios such as Blizzard, Sony, Microsoft. They need all the help they can get.

WHAT IS NEKRO?
Nekro is an overhead, randomly generated action game about summoning evil forces of darkness to do your bidding!
Hailing from the era of great classics such as Myth: The Fallen Lords, Giants: Citizen Kabuto, Dungeon Keeper and more, we are creating a game rooted deep in PC gaming's history, but with all the flourishes you've come to expect from a modern experience.

Eh, reading the project details, this isn't Iron Lore, but a part time company without a publisher or notable funding source. It's taking their word on their current position, but we have to do that with all kickstarters. I think it's worth including
I'll throw a mention of Kittens in a Blender here. I've played the original card game and it's great fun (the kittens are so cute you don't want to blend them, yet you must... Much hilarity derives from this). I feel that a reprint and expansion are a worthy cause to Kickstart.

I just discovered the Grim Dawn project thanks to this, and it looks awesome.
Really awesome.

Bleh. LSL is one of the few items that I wish *didn't* get funded; them and the Yogventure project. I feel they're just riding DoubleFine and Wasteland's coattails, and don't really believe it's a worthwhile idea.

I'd like to add Serpents Tongue - a new magick experience to the list - it's already founded and has 15 days to go. I think it's a very interesting game, but see for yourselves.
Also like fun looks Match and Magic for those of us who like gaming on the pc.
I can't help but notice that there are people who go to kickstarter hoping to fund their dreams.
People who put hard work and dedication into these things, and hope beyond hope that people will notice and help them set up a measly shop or a booth that sells chocolate.
And yet we're giving thousands to yogscast.
Bah, I shan't be too high and mighty, I've given to both banner saga and the double fine game.

I haven't funded Yogscast myself (as soon as the blurb said the game was going to be multiplayer focused I knew it wasn't for me), but what makes you think they (and, perhaps more importantly, the game developer) haven't put any hard work or dedication into their project? In fact, the stuff they've shown indicates they've got quite a chunk of the game engine actually working, which is a lot more than you can say for Double Fine, Shadowrun Returns, or many of the other games on Kickstarter!

You mean what they shown in introduction video? Well it looks just like minecraft mod except for that they are showing just a bunch of artworks.
I have to agree with Opperhapsen Yogventures looks suspicious.
It doesn't look anything like a Minecraft mod--you don't get smoothed-out landscapes like that in Minecraft. You should also check out some of the more recent update videos.
Any interest in Gravitaz?
Looks a bit like the old PS2 game Kinetica. And they are giving out wireless logitech joysticks to supportes for a limited time.
