I had originally written the condition to require that you sustain first, but nothing else works that way, so I changed it to a regular sustain. Mertes attacked without the -2. But he'll have to make an endurance roll to resume sustaining next turn.
and the usual minor issues, kobold not goblin, concealment not cover, let's roll that OA now:
(1d20+8)[15](23) for (1d4+3)[6] - 5
1 point of damage to Mertes! (That's before he got the THP)
These are Monster Vault kobolds. Be glad they don't have Mob Attack (+1 to attack for bonus for each additional kobold adjacent to the target).
Game Alert
I will be out of town, with no Internet access, from Friday at noon until some time Sunday. Depending on how things go at home, I might be able to make a post Sunday evening.
The good guys now all go in the same initiative block. If you take out all the minions you win. If you can get rid of 4 minions, Rat and the boys will take out the last one without having to roll. If you can get rid of 3 minions (leaving 2), Rat will direct the boys to open fire, but they'll have to roll, and if there's only one minion left after that Rat will charge it.
Zimelda will wave him off. If the boys can't even keep their lunches down from seeing a few teeth get knocked out
Less the "a few teeth knocked out" thing and more the "brains splattered on the forest floor while the Angel of Death gloats" thing. But you knew that.

I'm pretty sure my minions have rolled more 20s attacking you guys than you guys have rolled 20s attacking my minions.

On the plus side, the boys will NEVER call her bluff again when she tries to be all intimidating and stuff towards them. XD

Everyone gets another action point for passing a milestone. (You'll need it)
How many surges are people spending?
How many healing words is Zimelda going to give out? She can give out one immediately, but then she can't give out any more until the end of the short rest. If she gives out any at that point, she won't be able to use them during the next combat encounter, unless she takes another short rest.
No surge spent, I'm good to go. Just want my encounter powers back.
I just realized, this is a very close/melee oriented team. I have a grand total of 1 ranged power (2 if you count a summoning), and the rest have less. At least we're also quite defensive/bulky.

Thanks to Arokh for all the wonderful avatars! May his computer never crash and his mouse arm never cramp!
There's a curtain blocking line-of-sight through the upper (east) entrance where the sentry peeked out of. You don't know if a kobold is currently behind it.
Ok, I'll probably climb up check in if there is enemies.
If It doesnt seem to link up with the rest of the cavern quickly, I'll just climb back donw adn enter with the other though.
Here is my status after the rest :
HP :...39/39...TEMP HP :...0
Surge Value :...8
Surge left/surge per day :...6/12
AC:...17...FORT:...17... REF:...14...WILL:...14...
Oh, that much? Cheeky little quickblade, I hadn't notice how hard that hit. Yeah, I'll spend a surge to go back to full HP, I've got plenty of them, so I might as well.
EDIT: Which puts me at 10/11 Surges remaining, by the way.

1. Mertes climbs up the high cliff (he doesn't need to roll, it's within one turn's movement for him and there's no penalty for failure)
2. Mertes goes through the curtain and kills any enemies he finds there
3. Mertes checks if the passage links up with the cavern behind the waterfall:
If it doesn't, he'll come back and report, then a new plan will be decided upon.
If it does connect, he'll stay inside and the rest of the party will attack:
A. Alessa goes in first to draw javelins and other low-damage attacks
B. Arjhan follows close behind after enemies reveal themselves
C. Zimelda enters shortly thereafter
D. Rat and the boys only enter when it's confirmed to be safe
I'll only add that I dont go in too far (let say no more than 20 feet inside unless I see it link up to the waterfall)
And I'll also havea javelin ready.... in case an enemy/sentry would be a bit far away.
