Does it have to do with small town phone numbers being smaller than those in cities? Its not something that I recognize personally, im just taking an educated guess.

Tvtropes describes Soul Eater as what you get if you throw the plots of Shaman King and Harry Potter in a blender, put Studio BONES in charge of animation and hire the biggest Tim Burton fan in the world as animation director.
