Hey, it's your plot. It's not like I knew Eadin the Character was going to pick up on a pair of throwaway lines meant as a joke, or that if she did, she'd go for something involving ghosts and breaking a naiad's heart, rather than what I'd come up with for the solutions; I was thinking that if someone assumed the throne under a false name, then 'Queen [Name]' would never have been born, though they'd still have existed, and that the second said nothing about some of the water from the spring having never been frozen, just the entire spring, so one could simply take some of the water from a hot spring and freeze it normally.
Zefir speaks truth. The thing about ffrp is that you have to figure out things for your character to do when there isn't a GM running the show. Sometimes people decide to run a plot, but there are far more players wanting to play in plots than people able and willing to GM a plot.
However, plots do happen. Earl of Purple often has little mini-encounters or larger dungeons. Rebo does Random EncountersTM that are basically one off fight scenes - usually in Trog's, and usually over in a single day, as well as larger plots. Morty and SC run plots, and I'm probably forgetting a lot of people. Occasionally someone does a big event, but those are VERY hard to manage once too many players get involved.
But the best thing is to put your character out there and interact with other characters - make friends and enemies. Build a history for your character. That's what makes a GM-less setting different from a typical play-by-post game. After all, you can roleplay fights and dungeon crawls and other GM-led party-based adventures in any number of games in the pbp forum. If you come to the ffrp ghetto, you get something different.
It is very hard to keep up of big plots...Keeping track of Cylar has dominated forum time for Sn. Do I need to post somewhere?
Complications are good, yes. I just didn't think of those; my headspace with Lynette was nowhere near Greek mythology.

It was an 'up to you'. So I suppose a yes, since Eadin said she was fine with it.

Marty was going to kill Hrendar, it didn't matter if he was going to get tortured for it. You...she wasn't just a slave! She was a woman. She was good, and you hurt her. I'll kill you! Pnce the magic knife cuts his bonds unnoticed, he grabs the knife and jumps to stab Grendar. Marty gasps in pain at the jump but flies at him, attempting to stab his chest. It might distract Kordak, which might give Kale a chance to get up.
...M'kay. Mind if I say/ask a few things?
First of all, they aren't in a cave, they're on a field. Although I think that's mostly my fault as I worded something incorrectly several posts ago. But FYI, they are on a field without anything cave-like in view.
Then, if Marty's wounds to his feet were as terrible as you've been describing, I don't see how he could even walk, let alone jump. Unless he had a further healing potion or something?
Also, as the gnoll was looking directly at Marty, I doubt he'd miss a floating magical knife sawing through his ropes.

At the moment, everyone is figuring out a place to stay. Or did you mean that you don't remember what the character herself was like?
Also, Morty, I'd appreciate being told exactly how the priest saw Mayhala when she came back to Inside on the other side of the fence from him, and behind Anatolij, who, from what I can tell, is on the same edge of the yard from everyone else, though still outside the fence.
And it would have been nice to be able to determine if the priest's fire cut through the shadows she was using, rather than having it assumed that it did. The reason that it would have worked to show where she was had she been in range is that the shadows she uses to hide herself are illusions, which these aren't.
Edit:
By the way, the DFI is off in Outside somewhere, so the alley really isn't that close to it...

Well, to be honest, I'm not entirely clear on where who is in that fight. Which is normal in big FFRP fights.
As for the priest's cutting through the shadows - he was attacked, so he defended himself using his enchanted hammer. I assumed that since I'm the defending player here, as it were, I can describe how he avoids the attack. I'm not really sure how it's different from parrying a blade or blocking a missile.

Oh. I see where the confusion arose now... It was Anatolij who was being attacked from behind, not the priest. If that's what you thought, your post makes much more sense now.

I'd prefer an edit, if you don't mind. Popping into the place with the highest concentration of people, and someone outside the fence behind her, would be pretty stupid after all, as evidenced by how quickly she was getting shot at with this scenario.

Not really. They're tough, but they can be broken with enough force, especially if suitable tools are used. Though magic helps, of course.

I'll be off for a tux thing (PURPLE VEST!) for a bit starting now and may not have my phoneternet, but I'll finish what I have to get to when I return.
Inside is the former capital city of the Empire, now run by the Council.

Sorry- I have edited my last post in the Temples thread to include the Hermitage door.
Also, I don't mind if a Chrysallid hive is placed into Inside, but besides the Gargoyles of Inside's rooftops I don't have much to do with the city.

I have a point!
Always willing to run a dungeon for those who need somewhere to explore. Just PM me, and decide the character and location and I'll see what I can rummage up.
C'nor, He of the Ever-Full PM Box (), here is what I would have PM'd to you if I could have.
Spoiler
Leaving for prom tux things, but this here is Aephiti.
Aseti was actually named after the SAT test I had the day I made her, so Aephiti is named after the APT (AP Tests) my friends had today.
In the OP of this thread in the second spoiler is a list of the major locatins and what they are, by the way.
A quick glance at that would seem to suggest that Inside is the "city" part of the town, i.e. containing the Taverns, player homes, stores, and such; is this accurate?
