Okay, updated the sheet, as well as fixed a couple errors in the backstory: he's supposed to be a bit over 50, not a bit over 500....
And, well, I don't think my character would be making that attack. I mean, it plays into one of his intimacies(distrust of the realm), and it was pretty damn powerful. Plus social stuff isn't exactly this guys strong suit.

Speaking as the person who started the combat, Skandi's not especially interested in a long social combat scene - he just wanted to quickly and quietly weaken the Cleansing, and he isn't going to stick around for a debate.

This forum is quirky. So... I made a post but it won't tell you that I did because of one of those 500 type errors when I posted. XD
Yeah, that happens. If you hit the back button on the browser it should take you back to the reply field, and you can try again.
Also, the post actually did show up in the thread.

Heart-Brightening Presentation Style allows him to cross apply any Bureaucracy, Performance, Presence, or Socialize excellencies. So his Bureaucracy excellency lets him enhance all four of those abilities.

Exactly. I saw the errata'd version of that charm, and, well, it saves me from having to get 3 more excellencies. For one charm, that's not bad.
Sorry about forgetting the stunt roll, not used to doing it that way. Though, dammit dice. Isn't your performance in Dream of Quite and Call of the Wild penance enough? At least tell me what I did wrong.

Get 4 motes back, though. And I'm assuming you meant personal motes, or this will get extremely interesting very fast.
I noted in post which were expended: I'm still at max with peripheral, and I'm 6 down in personal.

So... hm. Is it possible for Isa Maren to join Besi, thereby forming a Magnitude 1 unit of the absolute minimum size? How would that work, mechanically? Does the unit have no Close Combat Rating/Might/Endurance/Armor ratings because it's composed entirely of special characters, or are those stats calculated based entirely on Isa (yikes)? What happens if we fail a Valor roll?
This is a weirdness in the system I haven't encountered before.
Also, worth asking if Besi is willing to lead Isa, or if she's going to go haring off alone. Isa has no War rating, so she's not going to be much use as a solo unit. Unless I can think of something sneaky and underhanded, which I probably should...

Ah, I don't mind if you join me! That would knock my Join War down by two dice, but since the rightmost dice aren't successes anyway it doesn't really matter.
The most logical way to do it is for you to join me as a Hero or Sorcerer, although I don't know that I can actually do that without a complementary unit...
Edit: Ah, very good.
Hmm, but she does make up the complementary unit. I would guess I don't get full Might for a complementary unit made of Celestial Exalted wielding artifacts because she's hiding her full capabilities, so what would the rating end up being?
Actually she doesn't have artifact weaponry, but that's still Might 3 at the very least. Plus better stats than any complementary unit could reasonably be expected to have, which, yeah, probably a sign it's not supposed to work like that.
I think the complementary unit is composed only of non-special characters, meaning we don't get a Close Combat Rating or Might or anything like that; on the plus side, we probably don't have to deal with morale and such.
I'll probably have to break away once Besi's anima starts flaring (not a Terrestrial, no Hardness, ouch), but by then I plan to have a plan.

... Can anyone see my post in the IC thread? I keep refreshing, and it isn't popping up, even though every other way of looking at it says I made one...
Edit: Nevermind... this forum is so bad. It took about 10 minute for it to update and register that there was a second page...

Basically, you lot are acting as yourselves, but are capped in combat ability by whichever of you has the higher number of dots in War, and calculate Close Combat Rating individually. Both of you would be Might 3.
Why not slot into the Lookshy force as special characters? They're Magnitude 2; whether Skandi or Aya leads, that then gives enough room for four of the other players as Heroes or Sorcerers.
Edit - Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure you don't get complementary unit stats if you're a solo unit, and that the stats of special characters aren't calculated into the pool for determining that of the overall unit.

Question: Are specialty dice capped by the War rating as well?
Oh, and I'm going to hate this part. I think I get like, what, 3 shots with my bow before I'm out?
Also, stunt dice if applicable: (3d10)[10][4][2](16)

That was my impression too. Otherwise, you end up with this weird thing where an army is actually a disadvantage for many Exalted; sure, they give you Magnitude, but the drop in Close Combat Rating/Armor/Might/etc and the need to deal with morale, Endurance, and all that jazz usually outweighs the benefits. That... doesn't seem right.
(Not as the default situation, anyway; investing in Charms and stuff to make you an unstoppable solo combatant is obviously cool.)

Oh boy. Join War. I will have to crack open my core book tomorrow and figure out what I'm to do with this. War is the weakest thing Aya has and the last thing to expect. No one uses Mass Combat rules! (Time for me to learn now I guess. ^^)

"Maren" and Besi are the problem here; they don't have such support from the (small) garrison.
The reason I hadn't made any formal decision, O GM, was not because I wanted to leave it to the dice, but because I wanted to have some idea of who these people were before I made the decision. Having gotten some idea of who they are, I think that Skandi would probably be a better foil for Rose than for Aya.
Is that acceptable?
