Welcome everyone to Tenbis City. First things first, if everyone could repost their character sheets here, that would be great. Secondly, on posting rules. I'm going to copy Andraria's rules here. Partly so that everyone is using the same rules when posting, and partly because they provide all the information on your character's status at that moment that anyone would want to know, making everyone's job that much easier. To those of you unlucky enough to get avatars from kpenguin, don't worry about the image (though I am going to see if I can get images for everyone). Also, it might be worth keeping the php code, so you can quickly copy and paste it.

Post Formatting
For the sake of keeping things as clear and easy to follow as possible (for me and for you) I am making a certain amount of post formatting required for your in game posts. I know most games don't do this, but I appreciate your cooperation in this matter. Each post must include: A hero point tally, a condition record, clearly separated body text, an area for technical issues, and an image. For those of you who did not have an image included in their application, kpenguin has made all of you wonderful Order of the Stick style avatars you can use.
If you need some help making a workable format, just ask.
Here are some ideas of what your format could look like.

Turns
When we get to combat / situations where initiative matters each player has twenty-four hours to make their post before we assume that you are holding your turn. At that point, action moves to the next person in the initiative order. Once your turn has been held you may take your turn at your earliest convenience, and you will be moved to that place in the initiative order. A post made out of order will not grant the next person extra time, their twenty-four hours is still counted from the previous in-order post. If we return to your place in the initiative order before you make your post, you have lost your turn for that round and you have twenty-four hours to make your new post.
If, for some reason, it is required that you take your turn (ie. you are holding up the collapsing roof while your teammates try to get away and you need to make another strength check) then I will make your rolls for you.
Next, world information. Everything that is happening in Sapphire City is canon, and all of Andraria's world building still applies. But as we are playing in a different city, there are different heroes and stuff you need to know.
World Information
Spoiler
Tenbis City
Tenbis City is a cross between Metropolis and Gotham. While nearly as grand as Sapphire City, it does have a darker side, especially in the old docks.
The Heroes of Tenbis City
Paladin (Jessica Kay)
Spoiler
Paladin is one of the major heroes in Tenbis City, known for the high tech battlesuit she wears, and her combination of fear and intimidation tactics. Jessica begun life as a police officer, but during a bust she found the Paladin battlesuit that had been developed by a supervillain. Deciding it would be better used to create a superhero than be used as evidence in a case currently overfolwing with it, Jessica and her fellow officers worked together to turn Jessica into Paladin. While not a genius like most users of similar battlesuits, she has become adept enough to make a similar suit for her sister, who became Errant, and is one of the best at fine tuning a battlesuit's systems.
Her career as a superhero eventually came to a halt when Errant, on a solo patrol, came across the supervillain Virus, and was killed. She left the superhero scene for six months, before returning a month ago, eager to fight crime again. However, during this time, Virus had hidden underground, and the high workload as a superhero stopped her from having the time to investigate his current whereabouts. Obsessed with finding Virus, she has gathered a team of heroes in Tenbis City, who can do the type of missions that normal superheroes can't do, as they are too distracted by bigger and more immediate threats that have to be prioritized.
Redjacket VII (Richard Hodge Jnr)
Spoiler
Redjacket is the most famous hero in Tenbis City, and one of the most famous in the country. This is because Redjacket is one of the longest lasting superhero legacies, and the original Redjacket was one of the very first superheroes, before they had codenames. Instead, Redjacket was named by criminals who, unaware of his true identity, used the most identifying feature, the red leather longcoat, as the identifier. Richard Hodge is the latest Redjacket, and like the rest of his family, has no powers or gadgets, instead relying on martial arts and improvised weapons. Instead, Redjacket focuses more on investigation, and is one of the few heroes that does what Paladin wished her team to do. Ever since Redjacket III, they have each had a sidekick known as Crimson. The current Crimson is Tara Hodge, Richard's niece. While Crimson often works with Rejacket when he is alone, she never particpates when he works with the other heroes, due to the high stakes being too big for her still inexperienced skills.
Morrigan
Spoiler
Morrigan is one of Seven Immortal Warriors, the champions of the mystical race known as the Madura. The Madura are a subspiecies of humans, forever fighting a force known as the Outsider, a force that attempts to sneak into reality. As one of the seven immortal warriors, Morrigan has continuously reincarnated whenever she dies, dedicated to fighting the Outsider till the end of time. The Seven Immortal Warriors rarely meet, preferring instead to have a presence world wide. However, due to the magics that govern the Seven, they often find themselves gravitating to groups of seven, which gives the group greater luck than they usually would. Many believe that the existence of the 'seven samurai' concept comes from the recurring groups of seven that appear where ever one of the Seven Immortal Warriors appear. Morrigan is connected to many myths, but surprisingly not the Irish myth of the Morrigan, which some believe co-opted her name during retelling.
Morrigan's powers only include her immortality and her ability to grant luck when in parties of seven. However, she is equipped with magic armor, weapons and shield, making her incredibly dangerous.
Richard Hunter
Spoiler
For as long as there has been magic, there has been a Richard Hunter. The role of Richard Hunter is to defend the world from any major magical disturbance. While Richard Hunters usually have high levels of magical powers, they are by no means the most powerful mage in the world, and often use trickery and intelligence alongside their large array of magic. This is a large reason why they are known as Richard Hunter, both because hiding their name prevents anyone from using it and because the name Richard Hunter will make nearly anyone in the magic community afraid.
The current Richard Hunter is an Asian man, who dresses like a noir detective to exploit the air of mystique it gives him. While most Richard Hunter's are deceptive, the latest is known to be one of the most deceptive yet, partly because of his relatively low level of magical prowess and partly his normal upbringing giving him ideas most other magic users don't think about. For example, he often uses technology instead of magic, as most mages can easily scan for magic, but forget about technology. The other advantage he has is a love of stage magic, which has taught him a lot more about deception than most mages. He has been known to defeat enemies by unleashing an array of magic spells, only to beat the mage to death with a crowbar while he was distracted with all of the counterspells.
Masquerade (Terri Price)
Spoiler
Terri Price is unsure of the true source of her powers. She has always had them, but she was not a mutant. It is suspected that her powers are from some ancestor that had something special, whether by magic or an accident. All she knows is that she has psychic powers and the ability to create illusions, and that both powers are independent of the other. Terri originally became a superhero to connect to the superhuman community to learn about her powers, but quickly felt a sense of obligation and became a superhero full time.
Despite having few dangerous secrets, Masquerade is the most secretive, having never shown her team mates her real face, or given them her surname. She also keeps her psychic powers secret to all except those that she is closest to. This is largely so that when she needs to use them, no villain is prepared.
Powerhouse (Ed Owens)
Spoiler
Ed Owens is a corporate sponsored superhero. When Jensen Biotechnology first developed their human augmentation research, they struggled to find willing buyers. So, in a display of both corporate conscience and marketing, they decided to use the technology to create a superhero. Ed Owens, one of the scientists responsible, offered to be the test subject, and the augmentation enhanced his body, giving him invulnerability, super strength and regeneration. He quickly arrived on the scene as the superhero Powerhouse.
Even after his success managed to find investors, Jensen Augmentations continue to fund Powerhouse, continuously upgrading him and making sure he is at the best possible condition. Out of all the heroes in Tenbis City, Powerhouse is probably the most straight up heroic, despite his origin.
Ed Owens is the only one of the seven with a public identity, and because of that he is on edge, after many heroes have been killed in their civilian identities recently. While he knows he is very hard to kill, he is afraid of what will happen to those close to him.
Arrow (Malcolm Witt)
Spoiler
Despite his seemingly archaic use of weapon, Arrow is a hero that constantly pushes the boundaries of technology. His bow is specially designed to charge arrows with a variety of effects, and Arrow uses his intellect, greater than Powerhouse or any other major hero in Tenbis City, to create a variety of high tech gadgets with a variety of uses. Combined with a large variety of knowledge on many different subjects, Arrow often takes the role of tactician during team ups, though he prefers to leave actual leadership to more charismatic heroes.
Arrow is the only one of the main seven heroes of Tenbis City to be motivated by tragedy, after his wife and children were killed four years ago when Redjacket VI and Morrigan fought the supervillain Arcane. Despite their failure to protect his family, Arrow has no hard feelings, especially considering Redjacket VI, who like the rest of the Redjackets had no powers, sacrificed his life trying to buy time for Arrow's family and other civilians to escape. Instead, Arrow decided to be inspired, and built his arsenal and joined the fight with Morrigan, the new Redjacket and the other heroes to help protect Tenbis City.
With all of that done, you can now go to the Out of Mission thread and make your first IC post, where we will gather the team before the we start Mission 1. Also, while we do the prologue, everyone can discuss whether they want to be in alpha team in beta team for the first mission. Usually I'll give you a hint to what both teams will be doing, but since it is the same mission regardless, and I'm just splitting you up to make combat go faster, it doesn't matter.

Spoiler
Moniker: The Magnificent Vulpini Real Name: Daniel Blaine Secret or Public ID: Secret Age: 17 Gender: Male Physical Appearance:
Spoiler
This handsome young man stands at around 5'8, and bares of lithe athletic frame from his many years in the performing circuit. His hazel tends to be messy due to his frequent bursts of speed, though his bangs have a nasty habit of covering his eyes if he stands still too long. His emerald eyes are often complimented by the ever present smile on his face.
Costume:
Spoiler
Dani's costume is rather odd. It appears to have been heavily influenced by his love of stage magic given it's ornate white collar and its shirt; which manages to double as both vest and jacket thanks to it's "tail".The whole get up is completed with matching trousers and a pair of pristine ivory running shoes. To tell the truth, there are some facets of it he'd love to change...but he hasn't quite figured out how that part of his power works yet. He's just glad that the transformation alters his features enough to prevent anyone from recognizing, and the lack of a cape. Thankfully, he's been able to work it all into a part of his stage persona, so it all worked out in the end.
Powers: Daniel is blessed with still blossoming psionic potential; which currently manifests through the arts of psychokinetics and psychometabolics. The former of which has manifested through the lense of potent electrokinensis, and the latter which has gifted him with his enhanced speed, reflexes and healing abilities.
Personality:
Spoiler
Dani is proud, if a bit arrogant at times, witty and joyful. An ambitious dreamer who tries to make the best out any situation he's in; though this often causes him to get in over his head, and things to go just a tad bit hay wire. On the bright side he does always mean well, and, with his gifts, he can clean up after himself quite well. Try as he might, he just can't leave with out doing something to help someone stuck in a fix; his conscious would never let him get over it, which just makes him try harder to make up for it.
This lively young man has a great love for the stage and the roaring applause of a gracious audience. Even better if its for his stage magic; while he is aware that "real" magic is out there, nothing while be able to crush is pride in his art. Though he is currently having some trouble balancing his dream with his current love of heroing. While he enjoys being Vulpini; he stills dreams of the day people will applaud him for his talent on stage, rather than completing his duty.
Dani is normally very determined and can get quite boisterous at times. He's also been accused of being a braggart at times, especially if its to impress someone he likes, but things just tend to get a bit out of hand when he's in uniform. He's not quite sure if it's just his natural stage persona or some weird side effect of his powers, but whenever he's in costume it's as if his balls had grown five sizes. He'll often power down for the day and wince at some of the crazy things he done. Truly the great and powerful Vulpini knows no shame; though he has to admit, he can come up with some witty comebacks when he needs to.
Background:
Spoiler
Daniel's childhood was an odd one. Having grown up in a family of performers within the city of Lights and Gambling, Dani often found himself helping his parents family with their performances. At first he'd just help his father with his magic act, or serve as the missing member for one of his cousin's routines; but, like most things he does, things eventually got out of hand. Though having to do his school work between several practices over the years did cause his grades to suffer a wee bit, it served to ignite a passion for the stage that would follow him for the rest of his life. However, there is something that I've forgotten to mention about his family life; it's nothing big really, just that he belonged to a clan of psions nothing big. Though that wasn't THAT important.
Sure, you had the occasional..."enhanced" performance or trick, but for the most part their performances were kept quite "mundane"; which was probably for the best. Possible discrimination aside, most members of his extended family only possessed minor gifts. Sure you had the occasional one that lucked out, like his Mom with her premonitions, but on the most part their gifts tended towards impressive but not exactly astounding. Heck, in his younger days Dani each barely more than a walking wall socket. However, his particular gift did spare him from having to buy batteries for his gameboy every few weeks, and tasering potential bullies was always worth a laugh; even if his mother made him regret it with every fiber of his being, her speeches on responsibly using his God given gifts only aggravated his circumstances.
Granted this all changed after "the incident". Truth be told, Dani doesn't remember much about that day; all he clearly remembers is going over to a theater to help his Uncle prepping up for a show he had to do and that they were having a hard time with the breakers, so he went with his uncle to check it out while they waited for maintenance.
When he woke up three days and asked why he felt so "tingly" they regaled him with how the area had been assaulted by some super villain trying to old the area ransom, and during the ensuing mayhem he apparently became rather intimate with a live power line. Thankfully the family had managed to reach the family doctor in after the ensuing fall out; general consensus was that the boy only survived thanks to his gifts. Of course given the nature of the accident, he'd told them to keep an eye on him in case of any surprises.
As the years passed Daniel entered a time of great changes in his life; the least of which was puberty. To say that his family was surprised with how his powers seemed to sky rocket over the years would be an understatement, his ever growing hunger took some getting used to, and his occasional tantrums over the years did require their home to be rewired on several occasions, but beyond that he seemed to grow up well enough.
That said, even with his love for the stage and growing obsession with stage magic, it was only a matter of time until the inevitable happened. One day, roughly a year ago he stopped a mugging. His parents would berate him for putting himself out there like that, but really what could he do. He couldn't just let the old lady get mugged after all, not when he had the power to help. Eventually one thing led to another and in four months time he was gallivanting about as a local super, with his younger cousins and brother covering for him; though the fact his older sister never ratted him out has always led him to believe that she supported his choice even if she never vocalized it.
After about half a year, several close calls, revisions and shenanigans later, he'd managed to make quite a name for him in his city. He's theatrical flair and amiable persona let himself make a name for himself rather quickly in the big city; though really he had done hardly more than stop a couple dozen robberies and muggings, and help it during a several accidents during his time. However it wasn't until he faced off against his first super villain that he realized who bad things could get. The guy had named himself "Da' Bomb King" had taken over a small casino. As he'd learn later, the guy was apparently a former business associate of the owner of the casino and had been screwed over by him; he had apparently gained power over fire and a penchant for explosions, and had decided to take him out and everything else in his path.
With all the other local supers busy handling supporting local fire fighters with a freak rash of wild fires spreading through the city, he tried to help taking out his first villain. Things went south fast, the guy was crazy desperate and clearly had no qualms with getting civilians involved. In the end it took him another Jr. hero by the name of Cryokid, in order to neutralize Bomb King and save the hostages along with the casino owner.
Sadly, the end result of this mess was one he and his siblings weren't able to hide; especially considering he didn't arrive home until the next day and passed out in his room in full costume. Needless to say his father was not pleased and much hell was raised when it was found out that several other family members where in on it. In the end it was his mother who saved him and managed to get the whole family to settle down. No one was that surprised when it turned out that she'd known the whole time.
In the end was grounded for a month, among other things, as punishment for lying to the entire familiar and roping the children into helping him; though the local news coverage of the event and ensuing testimonials made it all worth it. To be honest, he still smiles whenever he hears one of the people from that day thanking Vulpini for saving them.

This power works of the ability to feel and detect EMFs. Everything has one, even inanimate objects, and each one is unique. Moreover a person's EMF is affected by the persons moods and neural activity; which on itself is affected by a persons general state of health. This can't tell me that you have diabetes, or tell the difference between poisons and diseases, but it can tell me if you feel tired or if you have some physical injury. Moreover, extremely powerful EMFs such as those caused by powerful Electromagnets saturate the area under their influence with their energy, making it harder to "see" other fields the same way bright light would effect sight.

Diana Blaine
Spoiler
Description:
Diana bares the appearance of a fair skin women in her mid to late forties. Her long raven black hair frames her matronly frame beautifully; and, while she prefers a simple top and a pair of comfortable jeans these day, she can still look quite fetching in a dress for a women that's brought three lives into the world. Relationship: Mother About:
Diana is a calm and collected women, with an all too often knowing smile on her face. She's kind and polite but can be quite bullheaded and stubborn once she's set her mind to something; a trait that David inherited whole cloth. Though she will never yell at you her many years have taught her the fine art of insulting and putting the fair of God into someone in the most polite manner imaginable. In truth, Mrs. Blaine can be quite scary when she wants to be. Moreover her fortune telling makes an excellent advisory; though her tendency to act upon her instincts and predictions can be off putting to some.
Though her gift is simple, merely the ability to know whether something would lead to good or ill fortune and in the case of several choices which ones lead to significantly greater good or ill fortune, she has been known to be struck by sudden premonitions from time to time. This gift has served her well over the years in everything from her consultation business, to serving as an agent for her various family, and even finding her beloved husband Marcus. Her former job has helped her family through some tough times over the years and has made her quite well known by in certain circles of wealthy businessmen men and women.
Out of all the surprises she's had over the years the greatest had been her vision of her eldest son gallivanting through city streets in a brightly colored costume while people tried to shoot him. . When she told his fortune after his accident she had known great good would come of it, but not THIS. Of course it did explain why they he seemed so tired within the last few weeks. Once she had stopped herself from going to her sons room, breaking down his bedroom door and beating the living snot of David she decided to to read his fortune. Much to her dismay, stopping her child's clearly self-destructive behavior would actually bring forth far greater woe to both his and the lives of a great many others. So she kept her peace.
When the can of worms had finally been open by her husband finding his son asleep in bed in fool costume after having gone missing during one of the biggest crisis the city had had in recent history, she was quite surprised by how big the mess had been. She hadn't expected most of the children to be on his side, let alone that this seemed to be just the start of whatever destiny her child had. So she bit the bullet and attempted to do as much damage control as she could, and ,while there are still family which aren't on speaking terms with her or her son, things have gotten better. Though with Sabre's offer she can't help but feel impotent. For now she will content herself with just making sure he has a warm home to return to, and letting him know his family is their for him, but she knows that will won't last forever.
Malcolm Ivory A.K.A. Silent Knight, and most recently Cryokid
Spoiler
Description:
This pale skinned half asian teen bares neck length straight black hair; and, as of last Christmas, bright sapphire eyes. He has a lithe athletic frame, which is often covered in bruises due to his most recent escapades. He tends to favor simple shorts, sneakers and T-shirts these days; especially given is newly gained resistance to cold.
While he's gone through numerous costume changes during his short carrier, his current outfit is akin to the stereotypical ninja wear; including the headband and ninja sword strapped to his back. The difference here is that the suit itself s sky blue and bares armored plates covering his breasts and vitals, along with graves and bracers. These parts appear to be made out of something akin to scales made of some kind of translucent fuchsia diamond-like material that's cold to the touch. In actuality, this getup is spiritually manifested gear which is highly durable and does not hamper his movement at all. Relationship: Rival/Comrade/Friend About:
Malcom's a good natured kid, if a bit of a perfectionist. He can be a great friend, and is pretty open minded and relaxed; just be sure not to touch his stuff. He is rather organized and loathes chaos in his living space. He usual is cool under pressure and you'll be hard press to get him to get angry; that said, he can get frustrated rather easily; something that when combined with his own goal-oriented mentality can make him easily irritable. He's quite fond of music and is an avid guitar player, though his recent activities have not left him with much time to indulge in his hobbies. When taking part in his...extra curricular activities he tends to be all business and prefers to be as efficient as possible while on the clock in stark contrast to Dani.
While he was once just your average kid with two loving, if over worked and often inattentive, parents; but this changed after he had a brush with death at a ski trip last year. After having been trapped inside of a cave for nearly a week due to an avalanche he was forced to form a pact with the spirit bound within that cave. That day he met Nemo changed his life forever. He hadn't spent a day out of the hospital before the damn thing practically forced him into heroing.
Malcom isn't really sure what the hell Nemo is; the first time they met it manifested as some kind of aurora falcon thing, but has often taken the forms of other birds and even fish on some occasions. Nemo itself has no memory of its time before being awakened by him, and does not seem to care to much. This mighty spirit seems to be quite happy inhabiting this young mans form and commenting about his life, or providing its special form of guidance; which could be summed up in one word, trolling. It seems to derive quite a bit of merriment from modern entertainment, especially the internet, and from playing its jokes. To be truthful, the darn thing can be a bit of a jerk at times, and the fact it understands almost nothing about human interactions and social norms just make things worse. Malcolm has all but given up on trying to identify what he is.
While it does try to play the role of a wise mentor, it often comes off as a smart mouthed older brother messing with his younger one. However, for all this it seems to be drawn towards preventing evil acts, and its greatest joy seems to stem from taking down evil doers. As such Malcolm does so to both appease it, and deal with his own conscience. Kinda hard to be a by stander when you KNOW you can do something to help after all; something that Nemo often takes advantage of. The fact Nemo has demonstrated the ability to temporarily possess his body, may have had something to do with Malcolm's cooperation.
As a hero Nemo has imbued him with power over wind and ice; being able to do everything from launch icicles at others, spontaneously freezing targets, gale force winds, and even forming some kind of cloud he can utilize as a flying mount. Though both he and Nemo are still unsure about what their name and motiff should be. Currently Nemo is found of ninjas; though who knows how long that'll last.
He and Daniel have operated together on several occasion and have come to begrudgingly respect one another. It might be because the two of them entered the hero scene at around the same time, but the two have form a friendship of sorts and are aware of one another identities due to previous circumstances forcing them to do so. Though their most notable team up was during the recent incident against Bomb King.
Roderick Connoly A.K.A. Bomb King, The Red Devil.
Spoiler
Description:
Standing at around 6'4 Roderick is an imposing figure. His broad shoulders and muscular frame are but the faintest of signs of his hard life during the course of his 35 years on earth. His body has many scars and often bares quite a few bruises from all the hard work his down over the years to get to where he was. A bald head crowns this once-gentle giant's body.
His alternate form reveals his inner nature. As the flames of his hatred spread outwards from his heart his skin hardens and turns blood red, and as the flames form an outfit similar to that of the stereotypical biker with a few minor differences. Steel chains writhe around his waist like bound serpents; a skull of black iron holding them at bay as a buckle. His knuckles and shoulders bare spikes of the same scalding black iron upon them. When near one can feel the heat of an intense flame and the scent of burning flesh fills the air. As he gets angrier his skin turns a bright red and the chains and spikes around his body turn white hot.
Relationship: Enemy in Waiting About:
Roderick was once a strong honorable man. Having been born to a struggling family he's had to earn everything he's ever had with his own sweat and tears. He managed to work his way through college, get married, have kids and even managed to start his own business. However, after his business partner of ten years screwed him over in a business deal and he was practically left on the street things started going down hill. He and his wife were forced to take multiple jobs, he started drinking, falling into alcoholism and their marriage began falling apart at their seems. As his life spiraled out of downwards, his former partner Catherine River had only gone up in the world; becoming a rather wealthy businesswoman in her short time.
After a few years the two finally reached their breaking point. They had a fight,a nasty one at that, and he awoke the next day in a drunken stupor with a concussion. His wife had left him; she'd taken the kids and everything that was theirs. Over the course of a few short years he had lost everything, and was left with nothing but his rage and frustration. In his grief stricken and hollow state he was approached by something. It offered him a deal, a chance to take his vengeance on those who had caused him all his suffering. Perhaps if he had been of clearer thought he may have rejected, or at least had doubted the being's claims; but his rage fueled thoughts would have none of that. On that night a deal was struck and an inner-devil's chains were unleashed.
It took some planning and a lot, but his new allies and powers aided him well; and once his strategy was perfected he awaited the perfect time to strike. He managed to cause enough mayhem in the city to occupy not merely the police force, but nearly every super hero in the city at the time. He knew that the cause of all his suffering, Catherine, would be in her pent house and he would ensure that she'd never leave. Sadly, he never got a chance to exact his revenge. He came so close, oh so very deliciously close. He had her at his mercy, begging for her life; saying that she was sorry for everything, and she'd do anything to make up for it. Her cries were like a sweet song to him, and just as he was going to finish her he was interrupted by a pair of teens. His lengthy planning and righteous vengeance halted by a pair of pubescent wanna-be heroes.
So now he's in prison; stuck with all the other metahumans. The officials seem to believe that his anger might've and stress might have caused his mutant genes to wake up, but he knows better. His new friends are much better at hiding things than he thought. He's currently patiently waiting in prison, his friends have told him he'll be free soon and have another chance. He happily awaits the time when the flames of his vengeance will finally be satiated; though he's got more work ahead of him than he had first planned. Two new names have made it unto his list and his very eager to check them off.
Well I guess i'll be going into Alpha as well then.

Moniker: Inspired
Name: Alana Shepard Smith
Secret or Public ID: Secret
Character Sheet: Posted in the spoiler tag below.
Age: 22 years.
Gender: Female
Physical Appearance/Costume:
Spoiler
Powers: Alana's power comes from the strange blend of alchemy, technology and the arcane that went into the creation of her body. This uncanny blend has gifted her with an unnatural intellect and a technorganic morphic body. Her mind is almost computer-like, operating faster than some of the more advanced computers and capable storing vast amounts of information with no degradation. The frantic, almost manic energies drive her to create technological wonder at frightening speeds. These same energies cause technology around her to never fail her and allow her to act as a remote control unit for any such device.
Personality:
Inquisitive, a tad impulsive, willful and driven are words many of Alana's close family have used to describe her. She is generous, often willing to give of herself help others in their time of need. While she can be courteous, she does at times become exasperated at the common man; since very rarely can anyone keep up with her trains of thought. This has led Alana, as reflex, to often dumb down her ideas and explanation, which gives the impression of condescension.
As the "granddaughter" of a retired super hero and a fan of science fiction, comics, and special effect shows, Alana has developed a strict code of behavior; which she follows to the best of her abilities. The greatest of these Axioms is a modern version of the noblesse oblige, now called by her as the Parker Axiom. Her fandom also acts as spawning pool for new ideas to test and experiment. Only those that pass testing are then adopted as possible tools which Alana transforms her body into.
Alana also possesses a voracious hunger for information, specially of the sciences, engineerings and anything to do with her fandoms. However, even with the vast amount of knowledge she has gained, she has yet to understand the inner machinations of her body. This is a constant source of irritation, much like the fact that many of her experimental devices often just fail or explode after a certain amount of time and for no apparent reason.

Spoiler
It was during the last confrontation between the hero known as The Gentleman and his arch-nemesis/former friend, Heinz Von Zymmerman. Zymmerman spent several months evading capture and stealing the components he required for his "Magnum Opus". By the time Gentleman had located Zymmerman's lair, the mad scientist had already activated the machinery which would complete his greatest work. During the ensuing scuffle, the power generator of the lab was heavily damaged, which caused the facility collapse. In what Gentleman describe as Zymmerman's last moment of sanity, Zymmerman pushed Gentleman away from the nearby collapsing ceiling. This saved the life of Gentleman, but mortally wounded the scientist. Zymmerman pleaded with his former friend, begging him to save his final work and then passed on. Gentleman began his escape; reaching the machinery, which now had produced a metal egg the size of a human baby. Grabbing the egg, Gentleman escaped the facility just in time.
Several years passed since that day. The Gentleman, now Jonathan Shepard , had retired from superheroing, as the weight of his adventures and the passage of time had taken their toll. He had placed the egg in his memorabilia vault after he had the egg examined and found it inactive, another failure from his now deceased nemesis. It was on the anniversary of his final confrontation that the egg became active. Arming himself and the staff of his estate, they prepared for some god-forsaken abomination to come from the egg. However as the egg shell dissolved, revealing what appeared to be a small humanoid child of roughly 2 years of age. Its semi-transparent skill showed as internal components assembled themselves into a semblance of organic life. The child had the same appearance as the daughter Zymmerman had lost before his decent into madness and villainy. Seeing now the reason for Zymmerman's desparation to save it, Shepard pondered what to do with the child. After having sworn his staff to secrecy and contacting some of his former companions on the matter, Shepard finally decided to take the child under his care.
Alana's childhood was a very surprising time for her new family. Being far more intelligent and given her unique origen, Alana was home schooled by her grandfather and estate's staff. Shepard began to find it very difficult to educate his young ward as Alana would often be several month ahead of the material they were discussing. By the time Alana was 7, she was already ready college level books. At this time she was also introduced to comics books and special fx shows. She exploded with an obssessive hunger towards them, especially the heroe shows from japan. Day and night, she would seek out more and more. She just couldn't get enough. Her grandfather had to put his foot down, since Alana had begun to neglect her chores in the process of satisfying her new passion.
By the time she was 13, Alana had fully matured mentally, while her body had reached the development of a teenager. At this development stage, her true nature became manifest. While being bored and unable to leave the mansion due the weather, Alana felt an urge to do something about it. The staff lost track of her for several hours, only to find her playing in the pool. This would have been par of the course, if it wasn't for the haphazardly made weather machine that was clearing the sky above the pool. Needless to say, while she was chewed out by Shepard for doing such an irresponsible thing, it was clear that he was impressed, though worried, by this sudden burst of creative genius that possessed her. Of course the fact that weather machine burst into flames a short while after didn't help the situation. After much arguing and discussing, Alan managed to convince her grandfather to give her space in the estate which she could use as a lab. However, she has pass the designs through her grandfather first, a concession she made given that her grandfather had experience with science gone wrong.
No more than two years after that, while in her lab, she made a new discovery about her self. Having broken her last screwdriver in her latest attempt at duplicate another tokusatsu weapon, she tried to drive the screw with her finger. After fumbling and loosing the screw several times, she became very irritated, and her body heard her. She watched in awe as her finger became slender and tipped like the screwdriver that she needed. The screw launched itself at her finger-screwdriver as if it was magnetized. It was at that time that Shepard came to see her and saw her finger. While Shepard was questioning the how, Alana was already working on the implications and possibilities behind what she guessed was part of her true nature. It took her some time to figure out that basics, but experimentation would have to wait. It was at this time that Shepard told her how she had come to be, and who her creator had been. It took her some time to process all that had happened and came to the conclusion that she should become a superhero. To which Shepard replied with a resounding no. He gave her several reason among which were her poor people skills, the fact that she had yet to master her new found abilities, and the fact that she was human in appearance. As soon as he had spoken the appearance issue, Alana began to work on her body. Command code were sent, modifications began and after a few second Alana's appearance had changed from her metallic skin and unusual hues to colors and texture more suited to teenage girl of arian descent. She mentioned that since she could pass off as a human, she could now go out and practice her people skills with regular people and that if she continued to experiment she was confident she would master her abilities in no time.
After much deliberation, Shepard made his decision known to Alana. While he was still standing firm on her not being a superhero now, he was willing to give her the chance to go out into the world. This was under the condition that she remain concealed. Here she was with all this knowledge and power, and she had just been told not to use it. She could see the validity in the reasons her grandfather, what with him being a former super himself. On the other hand, all of her comic and tv show knowledge demanded she put her powers to use. On yet another hand, Since now she could go out and actually track down the collectibles she was missing in her collections and perhaps meet other like-minded individuals. So with her geek side putting the final vote, she agreed to the terms her grandfather stated. Soon arrangements were made and Alan Shepard Smith began her journey into the outer world, starting at high school.
What followed were the 7 more interesting and irritating years of her life. Finding people who shared her interests, exploring Saphire City, and making friends with her peers were some of the best moments. However, discovering that very, very few were anywhere near her level of mental faculties, the fickleness and apathy of the typical teenager and adult, and the inability to unravel the mystery that is her body were some of the worst and most aggravating moments she had ever experienced. Still it wasn't all bad. Her covert assistance in stopping Inkwell 's assault at the recent comic book convention had gotten her his enenimity and the attention of Paladin. In turn, while her grandfather was not pleased with the turn of event, he gave Alana his blessing on this new endeavor, considering that at the very least she would have a competent mentor watching over her.
Complications
- Legacy: To live up to the standard set by her grandfather during his time.
- Motivation: To do good: Alan believe that as a metahuman, it is her duty to lend help to those in need. She is very aware that all beings will be held accountable for their actions.
- Obsession: As a fangirl, Alana often finds herself easily distracted in the presence of material related to her fandoms.
- Secret: Alana has a major secret in her life. If it got out that she was a lifeform created by a known villain, many would question her intentions and actions at best. At worse, they would try to destroy her or dismantle her. At worst, they would try to duplicated her and exploit her abilities.

about:
Jonathan's career as a super hero began way back in his native England during the early Victorian age. As a young constable, he saved a young woman from some unsavory fellows. They meant to sacrifice in order to complete some elderitch ritual that would have granted them great power, had they not been stop by the lad. After the matter had been settled, Jonathan received a surprise late night visit from the young woman he saved. She had come with the intention of rewarding her benefactor. Riches, good fortune, a long life, power and other such rewards were offered by the young maiden; yet each time, Jonathan declined stating that he did what he did because it was his duty and the right thing to do. This continued over the course of several days, to the point that a friendship had developed between them.
On the eve of their 21st encounter, she asked Jonathan one final time if there was nothing that he wanted. Once again he replied that he desired nothing save for their continued friendship. After hearing his reply, the maiden revealed her true self to Jonathan. She stood before him as a princess of the Seelie court. The fey told him that she had been examining him and testing him throughout their encounters. She had found him to be a just and true man, gentle of spirit and brave of heart. So she would reward him as she should. Marking him as a friend of the fey, the Seelie princess disappeared. Once gone he took stock of what he had been given. All the things he had denied before were now his. Riches, good luck, and a long life were his now. At his feet lay the garb of a gentleman among other fey blessed items. After some thought, he decided to put his newly gotten gains to the service of Queen and country. Donning the moniker of The Gentleman, Jonathan spent his day protecting his people from all sort of magical threats.
As time passed Johnathan continued his duties, even as his friends and family died before him. It was at this time that the first World War began. During this conflict, Jonathan met a young German scientist/gadgeteer, Heinz Von Zymmerman. Originally foes in the battlefield, they became allies when supernatural forces attempted to use the war as means of escaping their imprisonment in Limbo. After the war, Heinz and Jonathan kept in touch, often exchanging tales of their corresponding heroics. At times they would travel to each other homeland to lend a hand at in particular cases. However, their friendship became strained when the Second World War began. With all of the world at war and England under constant attack from Nazi forces, Jonathan and his colleagues had hands. As the conflict progressed, he found out that Heinz had disappeared trying to stop the creation of a Nazi super weapon and that his family had vanished without a trace.
Fearing the worst, Jonathan left toward German soil to seek out what had happened to his friend. Many months he searched. The war ended and he continued to search, finding only the corpses of Heinz's family in a shallow grave. Mourning the loss of his friend's family, Jonathan surged onwards. Eventually he found Heinz, but he was not the same man that Jonathan had known. The horrors the Nazi had inflicted upon mutilated Heinz's body, leaving him more machine than man. Something had clearly snapped as he heard his former friend rant at the unfairness of it all, with increasing rage and madness. Heinz had intended to make every one he felt responsible for his tragedy, which in his warped mind was everyone. From then one, Jonathan became Heinz's foe, chasing him across the globe. Some time alone, other times with assistance of local heroes, Jonathan foiled Heinz's plots until that fateful day in the Appalachian Mountains some 25 years ago.
After Heinz's death, Jonathan tried to continue superheroing. However with Heinz still weighing heavily in his mind and the toll his lifestyle had taken on his body, Jonathan opted to finally hang up the cape. Settling in Sapphire City, he began to live a normal life. The former superhero became an entrepreneur and philanthropist. All was well and good until Alana hatched from the egg. He cares deeply for his adopted granddaughter, despite how stubborn she can be. Currently he remains on hand to give counsel on magical affairs.

Secret: He’s a Precog
Precog/Retro rules: Farther in time and more emotions hard to see. But really these powers are meant as GM plot hooks.
Enemy:
..Simon – Simon Borokev. Sociopath, Mind Control
..Mind Slayer – Marie Ramirez. Psychotic, Telepath/Telekinetic
..Torment – Joshua Randle. Sadistic, Pain and Fear Projection
..Espy – Sally Brown. Soulless, Astral Projection
..Trance – Raj Patel. Bully, Physical Augmenter
Motivation: Do Good/Fear the Future
Rival: Gomorra (unknown to Hiro, Gamora is now a crime lord)
Prejudice: Mutant
Motivation: Thrills
Notes: His defenses are pretty high but they can only be that way one at a time and only if he gets a good perception roll, but then his attacks are not that powerful so I thought it was balanced. I can change some of that if asked. The extra four ranks should be scaled to how much he makes his perception roll.

Spoiler
Age: 18 Gender: Male Physical Appearance: Hiro doesn’t have an imposing figure. He stands at 5’7” and wears baggy sweatshirts that hide his physique and seems to be slouching when he is standing still. He keeps his hair short and neat.
In costume he is another person. His bearing shows strength and determination. Costume: His mask is black and featureless and is covered by a hood. He wears a grey leather vest of Chinese design over loose clothing that billows with the wind. He has a utility belt that has a large thigh pouch on either leg. Everyone else believes that he is a clairvoyant with the special ability to find nearly anything given enough time and that he is one of the luckiest people on the planet. Personality: Hiro is a brooder and dark person. He is extremely serious as he carries the burden of the future on his shoulders. Recruiter: Paladin Background: Hiro was born to a Japanese mother and a Chinese American father. At a very young age his parent were very worried about him. They thought he suffered from autism or a strange form of ADD. They couldn’t be farther from the truth, his mutant power of seeing through time and space developed early. His family was approached by PSI (Psychic Studies Institute), they said they could help him. At the age of 7 he was the youngest person admitted to the institute. They showed him how to relax his mind and process the wide and vast amount of information pouring into him. Through focused meditation Hiro began to control his visions.
Then he had the dreams. Each dream was of one of many possible futures, each were different but all had one thing in common. There will be a time where Hiro’s power of seeing the future will become known; he will take the alias Omen, and the world will change dramatically. From that point on he knew he had to keep that one aspect of his power secret.
At PSI he made friends with a student only known as Gomorra. He is power was his intellect. They were friends and rivals. They were the prized students until the day Simon came. He changed everything. The doctors and scientist underestimated his power. Within a year he was running the institute. He and his crew twisted the research at PSI from studying psionics to giving Simon and his gang more power. Hiro and Gomorra had to escape.
With the help of other heroes they were able to bring Simon and his cadre were defeated. Gomorra left in the chaos.
With nowhere to go Hiro decided it was time to start on his plan to make sure the future would be a good one. Starting a life as an adventurer, Hiro did his best to keep in the shadows and not become a celebrity hero like most. However his efforts were discovered by Paladin and was asked to join a group of new heroes. It didn’t take much convincing, as he knew this was his start.
Relationships
Spoiler
Gomorra Real Name: unknown, AKA Gordon, Glen, Geoff Relationship: Friend/Rival Personality: Gomorra has two faces, his outward face is friendly, charming and carefree. His hidden side is dark, vindictive and plotting. History: Gomorra came to PSI at a young age as an orphan. He was gifted with superhuman intelligence. However, he had a curious side where the more excited (more adrenaline in his system) the stronger and faster he becomes at the cost of his intelligence and focus. He became quick friends with Hiro, mistaking his precognition for intellect.
Gomorra had the same reaction Simon as Hiro. The two formed a plan to take Simon and his crew down. It required getting other heroes involved. In the chaos Gomorra escaped. He quickly decided his best course was world domination from the shadows. His first step was to become a crime lord.
He still keeps in contact with Hiro through email and coffee outings. His public identity is a novelist.
Yuriko Tsai Real Name: Yuriko Tsai Relationship: Sister Personalty: Bubbly is the first word that comes to mind when anyone meets Hiro’s older sister. She is kind and warm. She has a secret, she does possess powers but is able to hide it. She can remotely sense what others are experiencing.
Simon Real Name: Simon Borokev Relationship: Enemy Personality: Simon always appears charming and trustworthy, but it is all an illusion. He is a psychopath and cares for nothing but himself. His friends (and even girlfriend) are mere pawns and tools to him. History: Simon grew up in poverty in the Balkans. By his early teens he discovered he could make people do things for him. He was discovered by an American philanthropist and was adopted and taken to America. Simon’s thirst for power grew as his resources grew. By his mid teens he had his father’s agent find PSI and was admitted. There he met Maria who he twisted into his girlfriend Mind Slayer. He methodically took over the institute and force them to find more ways to garner him power.
It wasn’t a complete surprise to him that Hiro and Gomorra planned an uprising, however, Simon’s overconfidence never allowed him to see the possibility of his failure. He was defeated and swore vengeance on Hiro.

Identity
Relationships (Friends and Sister)
Age: 22 Gender: Male Physical Appearance: Standing at about 5'10" maybe 5'11 with broad shoulders but not particularly built in any way. After a few drinks any testosterone flowing man would probably think they could take him in a fight. He has shorter curly strawberry blond hair but it looks like it's almost turning brown on top. He has bright blue eyes that look like they go on forever and is usually seen with a kind smile or at least a smirk. Costume: Shadi made it for him. It's looks like a red track suit. There are what looks like small purple pads on the shoulders, elbows, back of the hands and knees. There are two large purple streaks that go from either shoulder and collide at his sternum into what looks like the spiky bubble you'd see "Pow!" "Biff" or "Bam" in an old comic book except for him there is only a small black "i". Underneath he wears a black tight suit that has a mouth mask (alla Kakashi). He also has a slick purple helmet looking headgear. It goes back into a point in the back and sort of looks like a bullet. Orangish-Yellow Goggles are on the front of it. Powers: A genetic mutation that developed way later than usual, Impact can feel and manipulate kinetic energy. Usually by absorbing and discharging it. He keeps a "pool" of Kinetic Energy on him at all times, he rarely runs out but it is still a diminishing source and if he uses it too much without a way to recharge it it will run out and he'll temporarily lose all his powers. Personality: Shadi describes him as a "People Pleaser" it's hard for him to say "no" to anyone (except his sister) but he doesn't like getting into personal matters (except with his sister). Fortunately since he likes to help so many people they usually like to pay him back and since he doesn't charge money they just repay him in favors. Unlike Shadi, Alex isn't sure about the whole Vigilante Superhero thing, but still feels the immense responsibility to continue to do so. He's slightly paranoid and a little devious. Impact likes to tell criminals his power is Invulnerability and super strength, telling them he can "throw" his punches, trying not to let them see his makeshift telekinesis. He figures the less people that know how his powers actually work, the safer he'll be. He doesn't like to solve problems with violence, so he's usually the last one to throw the punch but it's usually just that. The Last Punch. Recruiter: Sabre is the first one that found the two of them. He gave them a few pointers and checks in on them now and again, but Impact maintains he doesn't want to get too involved in all of this. Paladin was the next one to meet them and she was much more adamant about them joining the bigger fight. Passage wanted to but Impact maintained that he wasn't interested. Sabre continues to be the hero he "trusts" the most, he let's him do his own thing for now... Background: Alex is a 22 year old college graduate who has just gotten his bachelors majoring in Public Relations, Minoring in Political Science. He originally had been a psychology major but realized quickly he wanted to help people get along with each other rather than help people with their personal problems. He wants to get into government eventually so he wants to keep his identity secret and had made both Shadi and Juan swear they wouldn't tell anyone any of there identities as it would be too easy to make the connections to the rest of them after. He lives with his two aforementioned roommates Shadi and Juan in Greenveil, a suburb that's about an hour out from Sapphire City, but the metra can get you there in 45, 20 if it's express. When he and Shadi discovered their powers it was her that suggested they become crime fighters. She can get them into the city in an instant and the two of them take down the bad guys, though he usually ends up doing the most work, but don't tell her that. Currently he does freelance work with company to public relations, but he also volunteers his work to high schools in some of the more urban areas of the city to settle disputes between students in peer mediation.

Now they're closer than ever and Silvia has just moved into the big city to pursue a career as a Psycologist, a path Alex almost took once. Thanks for remembering colours. I forgot about that.
Quote:
Are the teams set or are they determined by the needs of the mission?
Alpha and Beta team will change every adventure, so everyone can get a chance to play with each other. You will be allowed to choose who is in which team each time, but I will have some conditions, mostly making sure that everyone gets the chance to play with everyone else and that certain players do certain missions that were built around their character.
Prophet_of_Io, I don't think you haven't forgotten anything
Also, I edited the Out of Combat thread to give the time and the location of warehouse, as well as correcting the fact that it was nine heroes, not eight. Forget about Passage, who counts as a member of the team even though she will mostly just be teleporting. Looking forward to seeing everyone's first IC posts.

Moniker:Boo Real Name: Bonnie McClain Secret or Public ID: Secret
Personal Information;
Spoiler
Age: 16 Gender: Female Physical Appearance: A young caucasian girl with a pale complexion in her mid-to-late teens, standing at five-feet even and she has blue eyes and short red hair. Costume: Her costume consists of a dark grey bodysuit and full face-mask with white spots for eyes. She wears white boots, gloves, and a white hooded cloak over her bodysuit with grey on the inside. Powers: Her powers include flight, phasing through objects, and becoming invisible to all visual senses. She can partially phase her hands through a person or object to cause internal damage. Personality: Timid, shy, and quiet, Boo isn't often noticed, and sometimes feels it's better that way. She agreed to become a hero to gain acceptance, and to find a sense of self-worth. Boo becomes silent when she's upset or angry, and often lets others wall all over her. Recruiter: Paladin Background: Boo manifested her powers due to a genetic mutation, and while it normally happens during pueberty, Bonnie was a late bloomer. Upon discovering her powers she ran away from home in fear, knowing full-well her parents views on 'freaks'.
Over the months Bonnie decided to use her powers more and more; First phasing into abandoned or condemned places to sleep, then using her invisibility and phasing to steal some of the day-old baked goods (And leaving heartfelt apology notes on the counters for taking them... and the pen and sticky notes).
Eventually she encountered a mysterious man in black that knew about her powers, and was willing to teach her a few things. She learned how to cut by partially phasing through some fruits (And even better, she was allowed to keep the fruit to eat). She gathered up the courage to try for something more, getting a 'costume', and attempting to rob a bank.It didn't go over well the first time... or the second... or the third.
By the fourth time security decided to call for a super hero because they weren't sure how to deal with her. She was harmless, but did have super powers as they saw her become invisible when she her sheet snagged and slipped off. Bonnie was taken in by the hero and taught about the good fight.
The Man in Black Relationship: Teacher (?) Description: A sharp-dressed caucasian man in a black suit and tie with white gloves with short brown hair and a goatee and wearing sunglasses. History: A mysterious man without a name that approached Boo before any heroes. He knew about her powers and taught her how to use her phasing ability in an offensive manner. Boo has not mentioned this to any of the other 'heroes'.
Malaya Sharma Relationship: Acquaintance Description: An indian girl in her mid-to-late teens with long black hair held up in a ponytail and brown eyes. History: Malaya lives in the neighborhood Boo squats in. One night while Boo was rummaging through a dumpster she found a pair of men accosting Malaya while she was walking home, managing to scare them off when displaying her powers. Malaya's family owns a bakery, and noticing a few of the day-old goods missing and a sticky note, started leaving a bag of assorted baked good on the counter every night after closing time.
******************************************
I'll be claiming Gray as my color. Also we should probably wait and see what the missions are before wanting to jump on one team or another.
EDIT: Oh yeah, how are the invitations sent out? Also I can imagine if Boo's known about this team hideout, she's probably sleeping in it somewhere.
Most of the times I will give you some idea about the mission, but this case is an exception. While you will be split up to make combat and stuff faster, you will both be working on the same mission, so there is no need to know any specifics until I reveal them. For every other mission, though, I will give you an idea before you select teams.
Also, the invitation comes whatever way will be best for your character to get it. Most of them will just be done by an e-mail or text, but with Boo, it will probably be contacting Malaya.

Moniker: HELIOS
Real Name: Alan Ballard
Secret or Public ID: Secret
Character Sheet: See spoiler tag below.
Age: 23
Gender: Male
Physical Appearance: Blonde hair, very pale blue eyes. Pale skin and rather thin. Wears glasses when not in the SOLAR suit. 6 feet tall.
Costume: SOLAR Battlesuit. Black and deep orange, though when the suit begins to use powers the orange glows brighter. When activated, 8 small spheres eject from the back of the suit and begin orbiting the user. They glow the color of the planet they are named for when they are in use (example: red for mars, blue for earth etc.)
Powers: The SOLAR Battlesuit is powered by a miniature sun created by Alan and his father. It allows the user to literally harness the power of the sun for attack and defense. Alan has also added on the PLANETS system, smaller sattelite objects which add additional combat and support functions.
Personality: Alan was always rather quiet, unless he was in the lab working on something - especially when that something was the SOLAR project. He was always nice, but after the attack on the lab and his ascension into the role of HELIOS, Alan has become slightly eccentric with his newfound power.
Recruiter: Paladin. After finding him in the aftermath of Emperion's attack, Paladin recognizes a kindred soul. Both were battlesuit users who lost someone important to them at the hands of some villain, and both desired vengance. Paladin took it upon herself to see this young man reach his full potential as a hero.
Background:
Spoiler
Alan was born an only child to a stay at home mom and a hard working scientist father. Growing up, his parents realized that their son was developing a rather keen mind, which was nurtured even further by his father.
Alan became the 'smart kid' in school. Actually skipping ahead grades, he graduated high school early and enrolled in a prestigious school, continuing to excel. His father was employed by a high-tech corporation, and his main project was developing new sources of energy. They looked to the sun - the largest source of energy in our solar system - and began work. They continued to hit roadblock after roadblock until one day Alan's father brought home some of his work, and after stumbling upon it Alan found the breakthrough the team was working on.
Impressed by his son's discoveries, he brought him onto the team - taking him out of college early - and put him to work. Alan was thrilled, to not only be working on something new, exciting and challenging, but to be working with his father. Alan was a natural at working on this, the knowledge just seemed to pour from him and soon they had completed the project. They had created a miniature sun. They had developed a variety of different devices that it could power. The real challenge was, Alan always thought, to find something that could handle the amount of power it put out! It could power a whole city if needed! Alan, fueled by curiosity and his childhood of watching superheros defend the city, decided to secretly begin a project with his father - desigining the SOLAR Battlesuit, to be given to someone worthy of being a hero.
The glory days would not last, as others had noticed the development of such a powerful tool. Even others from beyond our world. While working one day, the air around the team became charged - suddenly a sphere of dark energy appeared, and when it dissapated 5 figures were standing there clad in shiny dark tech armor and wielding weapons the like nobody had ever seen before. The largest one stepped forward and spoke in a deep voice with a metallic twinge brought on by his suit. "I am Emperion. We are soldiers of the Aphotic Hegemony. You humans have developed technology beyond your allotted limit. You, and it, shall be negated." And then they opened fire.
Their weapons seemed to be gravity based, collapsing everything they hit upon itself, almost like minature black holes. The scientists had no chance to escape. Alan ran over to the casing with the minature sun and grabbed it without thinking, aiming to try and run out of the lab. However before he could get very far, Alan was pushed down by his father, out of the way of one of those gravity blasts. His father shook him to his senses and pointed to the room where they were working on their secret project. The SOLAR Battlesuit. His father ran with him over to the room and dove inside. He told Alan that he had to use the suit. He was the only one who knew how it worked, and before he could protest, his father forced him in with a sad look in his eyes. As the battlesuit closed around Alan, he watched his fathers body begin to collapse into itself, hit by one of those aliens gravity blasts.
The suit systems quickly came online with the power of the sun fuelling it. Alan seethed as he took his first step off the harness securing the suit. The PLANETS system activated as the 8 orbs began to orbit Alan, and the suit began to glow bright. One of the aliens passed by the door and quickly ate a full solar blast to the face, throwing him back. The rest of the aliens from the Aphotic Hegemony were stunned for a moment, as Alan walked out of the room. "You monsters...I will destroy you!!! BEHOLD THE POWER OF THE SUN!!!!" he shouted as he began firing blast after blast at the aliens. -=NEPTUNE SYSTEM ACTIVATED=- the suit communicated to him, as one of the aliens was trapped in a solid block of ice. -=JUPITER SYSTEM ACTIVATED=- the suit read as Alan crushed an alien against the floor using the gravity control array.
Soon it was just him and the leader, the one who called himself Emperion. "Why?! Why would you do this?! We never hurt anybody! This discovery was going to change the world!" yelled Alan. "Your species is classified R-22. And you have reached your technology limit. Any advancement beyond that calls for negation." responded Emperion in his still commanding voice. "You will be negated." he said as he lunged toward Alan. -=MARS SYSTEM ACTIVATED=- the suits synthetic muscles bulged with strength, and Alan found himself able to fight back against Emperion. The fight quickly destroyed what was remaining of the lab as the building began to crumble. The two combatants faced each other, both wounded and exauhsted from the fighting. "You will be negated." Emperion said, and activated a device on his wrist. Emperion left the same way he entered, as a dark sphere envloped him, deadly promise left hanging in the air. Then the building came down.
Alan was fished out of the building by a familiar face. A genuine hero - Sabre. After posing for the cameras, Alan was able to talk to Sabre, explaining what occured. After a long talk, Alan decided to become a hero. He needed the experience fighting, and after all it was doing good - something his father would have wanted. That day he became HELIOS, and fights among other heroes as he waits for Emperions return.

After reading Helios's background, i just came to realize that right now Alana has an alien race that will hunt her down. Even if Alana never joined the team, she would have eventually met up with them due to Empirion.
Hey everybody >u< ! I look forward to reading your guy's game
and hopefully doing a couple of cross overs in the future.

Glad you liked Avengers. I've already seen it twice, including the midnight premiere. Currently my favourite film of the year and I've watched a lot this year.

Question for you MnM gurus. How does secondary effect work? Do you purchase both the primary and the secondary effect then apply the secondary effect modifier to the later? Or do you get the secondary effect for 'free' once you add the modifier to the primary effect?
If everyone's choosing colors, then make mine green.
I've altered my character a bit since last time. I got rid of the points I put into awareness and the Fearless advantage and put three points into my Will and two points into my Parry. My defenses should now consist of 18's and 20's.
I also wrote up one of my important NPC characters.

If you just want to type it up, that's fine, but put it after the form or tuck it under a spoiler tag. Remember, it should include everything from abilities right through to equipment.
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Physical Appearance: Tall Dark-Skinned Male (Half Hispanic) with lean musculature. Has a tribal tattoo on his left shoulder and wrist.
Costume:Dark Blue, With red on his chest, shoulders, and streaking down his arms.
Powers:
Roger managed to steal a belt which covers him in a form fitting Repulsion Field, making him super tough and strong and able to fly and fire repulsion beams. In a fight, Roger goes for the straight forward approach and starts swinging punches. It’s not so much that he isn’t creative, but because that’s what he knows he’s best at.
Without his belt, Roger is a slightly above average street brawler.
Personality:
There was a time when Roger was the worst of the worst. Running with Gangs, doing drugs, and being involved in crime. The problem was that Roger didn’t care about anyone or anything, not even himself, so he was able to do a lot of bad stuff.
But now he had a sudden change of heart, now that he was able to see that the world was much bigger than anything that he was familiar with. He’s started trying to turn his life around.
Background:
Roger Garcia was a kid growing up on the wrong side of town and in a broken home. His mother went missing on the streets one day, and his father devolved into a hopeless, angry drunk. With no one for him at home or anywhere else, its small wonder why he turned to gang life for a sense of belonging.
He stayed with the gang for a number of years, peddling drugs, getting high, fighting other gangs, until one day the gang heard about a smuggling operation dealing with all sorts of high tech super gear. Thinking that they could get a leg up on their competition, they planned a raid on their warehouse.
It didn’t go well. At all. These guys were incredibly serious about protecting their stash. They had barely managed to open a single crate before a bunch of power armored mooks descended on them, and they weren’t pulling any punches. It took everything he had and then some to escape with his life. When he was far enough away, and his excitement run down, Roger found himself alone in an alley and some kind of shiny silver belt.
With no one around and curious about what it was he risked his life for, he strapped it around his waist. Suddenly, a red energy surrounded his body, and he slowly lifted into the air. He didn’t have long to marvel at this miracle, when he quickly shot up into the sky in an unexpected trip of the cities sky line. He was in awe at just how big the city actually was, how beautiful it was when he looked down at it. Then an idea popped into his head: just how far could he go?
Only one way to find out.
He shot straight into the air, like a rocket, sailing past the layers of the atmosphere and into the black reaches of space. He adjusted his course, and landed on the moon. He couldn’t believe it; he was actually on the moon. How many times when he was a kid had he dreamed about being an astronaut, landing on the moon and exploring the galaxy. Thinking about his childhood had him thinking about how he turned out now. Obviously, life had turned out very differently from how he imagined it back then.
That was when he looked up at the earth, and he stood in awe. The world turned out to be much bigger than he thought it was. It was bigger than his father, bigger than his gang, bigger than the ghetto he lived and grew up in. It was so big, so full of possibilities he had never considered before, never thought possible… gave up caring about.
No more, he decided. No more run down apartments, drunken fathers, and no more gang life. The world was a big, new place to live in. He was going to turn his life around, and now he had the power to do it. He left his home behind and moved to Saphire city, an easy feat to do considering how fast he moved. He stayed at a community center for a while, fighting crime and doing good, hoping to catch the interest of a superhero team, until the day that Sabre finally took notice of him.
Finally, life was turning out well for him.
NPC: Wilson Jeffers; Aging African American Man who runs a community center
Wilson is an old man in charge of Tenbis cities down town Community Center, who helped Roger get a place to live. He doesn’t know about Roger’s criminal past, but he’s been in the business long enough to know that he was likely involved in something less than legal, but he doesn’t mention it. He does however know about Roger’s secret identity as ‘The Rocket Man’ as the papers call him, and has become an important source of moral support. Roger now works at the Community Center and lives in a nearby apartment.

I was reading Impacts sheet and thought of something. If he is always absorbing kinetic energy and that includes the air molecules around him, he should feel cold.
Just so everyone knows I'm not being lazy, I'm going to let you talk a bit before Paladin comes into scene and we start the adventure, so everyone can introduce their character to each other. Nice to see nearly everyone is posting now.
Also, I have sent a pm to Pinnacle so hopefully Pinnacle will turn up here soon

Ooh, nice fluff I like it.
Also I'm judging the Heros Alex knows based on what I think he would remember. The reason he's not familiar with the flashy Heros is because he doesn't want to be one, Reaver is a hero without powers that, like him, fights crime on a local level and even if he only heard one obscure even rumor based story, it would've stuck. But if you think he shouldn't be aware of him I can edit it out
You've probably seen a bit of Helios. I kind of want to play him as having been working with Paladin on and off for a year or so, just having her support and training but off 'heroing' on his own. So possibly some minor crime stoppages and rescues, but nothing huge.

One change I will ask. Paladin has been away from the hero scene for six months and only been back for a month. Helios can have worked with Paladin before and after her break, but of course cannot have worked alongside her during the six month break
