Re: Minecraft Thread X: In the jungle, the mighty jungle, the ... SSSSSSSS
While it isn't the rails themselves, jacketed red-wire from redpower seems to be able to hold redstone charges for in infinite distance, or at least several hundred blocks

I'm trying to install Forge so I can connect to the Tekkit server, but after copying the files to my jar, it still says that I need to install forge to connect. Maybe I did something wrong. Anyone know what?
Re: Minecraft Thread X: In the jungle, the mighty jungle, the ... SSSSSSSS
You can get past the forge thign by using the launcher and selecting "use develomental builds"

Also this raises a question: Does redstone signal decay on powered rails?
Also fun with chickens: Obsidian pipes make for easy automated egg gathering. Exponential growth is fun. Also before the baby chickens are full grown graphical errors make them appear to repeatedly fly in and out of their pen. I think I'll stop if it starts happening en masse with all of the chickens.
If you've got piles of gold, there's all kinds of things you can use it on, when you start modding.
First off, Gold Pipes are extremely good in any piping system. Hook up a redstone signal, and you've got a serious speed boost. Second, golden waterproof pipes have a much higher volume they can handle. I use it exclusively in my pumping systems. FYI... Geothermal Generators can handle direct-feed lava from golden waterproof pipes, and you can use a BC Pump (the one that is a BC miner + a tank) + 4x Redstone Engines to pump lava out of the lava pools which are so prevalent down around diamond level. But it requires a lot of piping, if you don't have Teleport Pipes.
Second, Gold Conduit Pipes are the most energy efficient method of BC power distribution. You have your combustion engines set up somewhere nice and safely distant, in case they blow up, then pipe the power to whatever you need it to. Again, can require a lot of piping.
As far as IC, gold cable is required to make an MFE, and is also the medium voltage cable.
Most of my gold is sucked up by Logistics Pipes, if you use it. Specifically, I tend to use a lot of Chassis Pipes and several cards I use require gold gears. Plus making Basic Logistics Pipes requires a pair of gold gears, among other things.
You only need one powered rail per sixteen regular rails to maintain maximum velocity, but you can put them at whatever interval you would like.

go to options on the tekkit launcher

I downloaded the Tekkit launcher, but when I lunch it, nothing happens. A loading bar appears briefly, then nothing. Tried checking the processes but nothing appears.

My reaction to current snapshot update:
"It's good to have my sign's name back after the last snapshot".
P.S- Why I am thinking that Minecraft should have bones to be used as stick (for tools) or tools (bonemeal as cobblestone and bones as stick)?

Tekkit server apears to be down again, There was also a derp chunk on the main server, in the bay outside of my cave on rpworld, it destroyed a small farm i had made, and has blocked access to my mine, can it just be reverted to it's old state?, or should i carve a new passge to the mine?

Re: Minecraft Thread X: In the jungle, the mighty jungle, the ... SSSSSSSS
Just been reading the change notes for the pre release. If the "Hardcore" map is still ostensibly hardcore difficulty that may need to change as Hardcore Mode is implemented fully for servers now (auto-ban on death).
Re: Minecraft Thread X: In the jungle, the mighty jungle, the ... SSSSSSSS
More derpchunks have apeared on rpworld, at this point, would a roll-back be worth it?

It is on desktop, and my default account is an administrator. I have no idea what the default "Administrator" account's password is. I've already tried disabling antivirus. Didn't work.
Re: Minecraft Thread X: In the jungle, the mighty jungle, the ... SSSSSSSS
Mine does somehow. Leaving both areas blank gives me a bad username/password error. The FAQ says it might be an issue because I'm using Java 32-Bit instead of 64-bit. Problem is, i have no idea how to check the version of either thing on my computer. Also, I tried downloading 64-bit (At least, I think that was what I tried downloading) and it said that was what I already had installed.
Re: Minecraft Thread X: In the jungle, the mighty jungle, the ... SSSSSSSS
You re-disabled EE?
