For LoL, it's entirely on the computer, making revisions as simple as coding in new information and releasing a patch. For tabletop games like 3.5e, any major revisions both would cost quite a bit, and it's not even guaranteed that everyone will receive/use it. Also, computer games are easy to balance. If the designers don't want something to have functions they didn't think of, they don't code it in. Tabletop games are much more freeform. Balance doesn't come from the system. Balance comes from the players agreeing not to do silly stuff.

This. The system needs to have a potential to allow one-person teams, but so long as no one actually creates a character like that, everything works out, yes? After all, an adventurer is you.

It would be what? Around DC 20 at most?

Since we have some time OOC and everyone seems to be paying attention, I wonder if I could ask some questions about the world?
Thanks to the rundown of deities, I get a sense of the politics, but I wonder about the non-human races; where do the gnomes and the kobolds put their faith, for example?
Also, I've been operating on the assumption that the planes are organized as suggested in the DMG. Is this so? (it pays to double-check).
Also also, I'm coming still to grips with the position of the various gods and their followers; following the divine coup in the past, are there still people who follow the Old ways, or did they shrug and turn their prayers to the new name above the altar?

A few more questions for the DM/people who have been here for a while:
1. How "standard fantasy" is the world, in terms of good/evil? Like, are undead actually always evil, are certain actions ("evil" spells, poison, and the like) always considered evil, etc...?
2. How is XP done? Standard? Arbitrary? Level-by-plot?
3. How is magic item buying/selling done? Abstracted? RP'ed?

"Uuu... why would you want not-destroyed clothes...?
Orb of Acid should do fine. Although, Setsuna can always heal you afterwards if you do decide to take the 95% chance of success.

We level when the GM says we level. XP for spells and item crafting is given out for good roleplaying every now and then, but we otherwise don't deal with it.
So far, we've just been able to find stuff in abstract whenever we were in metropolitan areas (and Sigil). RPing every purchase in detail would get tedious and take a lot of other people's time.

Some of the non human gods are still around, but even in those cases, a lot of non humans have chosen to worship the new gods.
The planes are basically organized as described in the DMG.
There are NO followers of the old gods. The devastation caused by the Gods War was so great, worship of the old gods was punishable by death. Since the war was several thousand years ago, there is no one alive from that time.

:
The world is pretty standard in those regards. You MIGHT find a good representative of an "always evil" race, but it would be plot specific.
XP is not awarded. You level when I say you level. For example, at the end of this dungeon, you will level. I give bonus XP for good RP or RP comments that make me laugh. (DONT try to force it) Bonus XP can be used to "power" magic items if you find a crafter (you pay the XP cost and buy at half price)
Magic items can be bought and sold at major centres. Sometimes your goddess gives you something. Sometimes you extort/seduce items from NPCs. And sometimes (not often, because this game has fewer missions that most) its just common lewt.

"S-setsuna, we are in public!"
lol at all of the above. Attach some fridge logic/innuendo concerning where Sera would have to be cut to damage her clothes, and that Cure Wounds is a touch spell.
Yeah, there is a reason why I brought it. It's pretty handy, especially since I have sneak attack.
As I understand it, we are allowed to use XP consuming spells, just not very often, correct?
Seraciel shouldn't have to attack through the blade barrier. In case it wasn't clear, this is what I meant to be the case at the end of Ly'kalia's and Melinda's actions, in Rogue-style ASCII graphics.

So there is a passage between the elemental and the skeletons. I thought you were making it across the passage, not down the side. So only one line of skeletons will get hammered.

Zippy is delaying as well, seeing as he is next in line. If so, we are up to Atareth.

"Hauu..."
It's not Cure X Wounds; it's Healing Touch (SpC). Pretty useful, especially with my Fast Healing 1.
It's a shame that pretty much everything in this dungeon is going to be undead... Should have gotten a Greater Truedeath Crystal. Wait, would that even work on a wand?

@PSsinger The most broken core feat and you think PF fixed it? I hope you know the returns per lost hit chance are higher. And that melee should have nice things. And that PF didn't do much fixing.
Can Tali get to the giant skellies? I'm not entirely certain, given the whole party is between her and them. I have a plan either way; I just need to know so I know which one to go with.

Well, I guess it could be a DFA, but Dragon Magic isn't in this game...
It could also be a spellcaster with whatever that spell is that gives you a temporary breath weapon, but that spell doesn't give you nearly that much damage.
Or it could just be something homebrew...

Edit: Are we ignoring the death from massive damage rules? I think we are, given the kind of damage Tali frequently deals should be triggering it a lot, but if not, I have a save to roll. Note I won't be upset either way; I'm just unsure and it hasn't come up for me before.

How many times would you have to empower it to deal 140 damage? Keep in mind that this is for a breath weapon that cannot support the Metabreath feats natively.
Also, Mind-Affecting, and it would mimic the spells 10 minute cast time.
So, Clyde had readied an action to teleport if there was an attack on him/Dot. Can I assume that a massive wall of flame rolling down the corridor triggered that?
Just in case...reflex saves:
Clyde: (1d20+18)[32]
Dot: (1d20+34)[46]
Tasha: (1d20+20)[21]
Zippy: (1d20+24)[29]
A gentle reminder to all that if you partook of the assorted buffs floating around, you're getting at least a +4 resistance and +5 morale bonus to saves.
Also, Dot had true seeing and blindsense active. Does that change what she would have seen in the doorway?
