Comparing a spell to an effect is pointless, as the ToB effects are not in play for this game. As for WHY ToB is not in play, theres a much simpler reason than balance and thats because we do not have the book. So theres that.
Im not going to nerf a spell mid game, simply because that would be unfair. The PC was built, over a year ago, with the spell in play, changing it now would suck. I know how I would react to my best attack suddenly being ruled illegal. Im just going to have to build opponents with high touch ACs. After all, the deities opposed to the Trinty arent about to stand around and let their side get massacred, so theyre going to change tactics.
BTW, there is no dragon corpse left to kick, punch or otherwise study to find out where the phylactery is. When a dracolich is destroyed, it crumbles to dust. Completely. As much as it might be satisfying to kick the bones or run a divine over them, its just not possible. They arent there.

This I knew. It's a good read, I would suggest it. Could use some editing, though. 4.5 out of 5 thumbs up.
In other new, won't nerf character that is overpowering the encounters, but the first fights for the new characters, 2 of which are Rogues, are otherwise immune to crits, fortitude saves, and sneak attacks. lawl

NOOOOO! My hopes! My dreams! My SNARK! All gone! I've wasted them! Why won't you come back!?

Is the target of this quest Harlan...or the dragons phylactery?
Answer that question, and youre half way home.
Half way home...?
It's not like I plan on going on a dracolich hunting tangent right now. It's more if it ends up becoming a recurring villain, I have a way to end it permanently.
...yay, paranoia!

Any, Sera would love to make a comment on what pathetic recurring villain Doofus D. Dragon would make, and that she doesn't think that was the lich Dot was thinking about, but it's not her turn.
Furude and Seraciel would be at the front if Furude broke the door and was dragging Sera with her, right?
Um... well it's that or throw it at a lich. And a lich would have a good will save.
On the other hand, the Maw would mean we don't have to step into the room until everything is dead.
So what if it has a good will save? The save only affects the daze part, not the damage, and if we've already bound and anchored it, we just wait around until it dies. Then we go use its remnants to find the phylactery.

We don't even have to have it bound. The Maw Disrupts spellcasting as well. Still, it would be overkill in terms of damage. It might be better for my just to try something silly instead or let Telasi at it.

Keyword disrupt, not negate. Considering that undead use Cha for concentration checks, and that most casters keep concentration max'ed, assuming Lv 20, he'll have +23 +10 on concentration, which is more than enough to auto-cast anything 8th level or below.
Having him bound removes the ability to simply walk away. Anchoring him stops him from dimension door'ing away.
Although I am curious to see Sera's silly combo thing...

I'm a bit lost, but it looks like we have to fight a mummy. (ok, I'm completely lost, the dracolich was the lich we were all talking about?)
By the way, whoever was controlling Selena. Which spells she used?

Debbie did, and you cast 1 Shadow Evocation (Cone of Cold)

On the other hand it is totally likely that he is a Wizard with only 23 ranks +2 in Concentration backing him up.

I am not even how well my silly plan would work, especially since it would preclude the use of Dimensional Anchor, depending on how you read some things.

Possibly... we'll just have to wait and see...
Then perhaps you should tell us, so that we can offer some critique.

I want to Bullrush a Lich through a Prismatic Sphere.
I actually had a similar idea, using prismatic wall and unicorn arrow. Great minds do think alike!
Now, the main problem is that, being a lich, he'll be immune to the electricity, the poison and the insanity. We could set up a system where (after binding) you make a Sphere, then we bat him back and forth until he fails a Will save and gets shunted to a random plane. Pretty inefficient, but awesome mental image.

Yeah, pretty much. I'm immune to my own Sphere as well. AMF doesn't affect the sphere, either, but I don't think that let's it affect the lich still.
We should call it something cool like "Lich Ping-Pong".

Yeah, the immunities are all (Ex)... AMF still helps in making it unable to cast, though.
So long as it's not "Lich Tennis"...

Nope. It does indeed.
...on an (almost) completely unrelated matter, did you know that the name for the Yuuzhan Vong from Star Wars came from a dish named Vong in Yunan, China?
