Debbie, with holy aura and getting hit four times, Ka'rishta needs to make 4 saves vs DC 25 or be blinded for 1 round.

If there is one thing a player in another game learned when he died with a '1' against a ghost's attack .... a natural '1' is a natural '1' is a natural '1.'

Here's hoping to her misfortune. Four d20s is something like a 1:5 chance to get a nat '1'. (Please understand this is layman statistics. I really don't care about the real math involved.)

The downside of the attacks is Atareth has no DR against this thing. Creatures imbued with the power of pure evil totally bypass her protection, like silver to a werewolf.

I see two probable confirmed crits in there, and all but the last was 28 or higher. That'll be 430 damage, please. I think it's still 350 after DR, even.

If she survives that, of course, I'm gonna die. Horribly. Totally worth it, though. On that note, heals please?

Well....that was my best shot at giving the party a fight. And shes a grease spot on the floor without even putting anyone in danger. Wraithstrike is a pain.

LOL! Wraithstrike is not a "pain" ... it is a powerful aid to the party. The thing that balanced this encounter to us is not that we are more powerful by any stretch. Even in Tali's case, no one is nearly as powerful as that marilith. The battle was quick, sure, but not easy.

Nope, it's just that while individually she outpowered any of us, she was simply outgunned. A lot of us there to focus on nothing but her. No, she was a damn tough fight. The time it takes to fight never determines its difficulty. Just look at those samurai movies where the BBEG and hero fight. It's over in under two seconds .... but that doesn't detract from what it took both of those opponents to get to such a level of skill so as to have such a duel.

Taleira only did that because she was in danger, to be honest. Another round would have killed her, most likely.

If it's any consolation, that was a 1/day special ability with Dervish Dance, Haste, Wraithstrike, and a carefully calculated Power Attack based on the known 28 threshold to hit her. I blew a lot of resources on it and probably would have failed without support from the dedicated casters to bring her buffs down.

In other news, I could use a bit of healing once it's convenient. After accounting for Vampiric on those hits, I'm still down 58. The others are probably worse, though, so I don't mind waiting until last.

I believe Tallesin has Limited Wish in his spellbook, but he definitely doesn't have it prepared for today. I'd check on TangledWeb to make sure, but my internet security provider keeps warning me that the website is unsafe at the moment. Anyone else getting malware warnings?

People have asked about the build of the demon, so here are the basics.
One side of her gestalt is composed of the marilith from Oslecamo's Improved Monster Classes. That fills 17 levels, and then she has 3 levels of fighter on that side. Through both of those classes, she has a BAB of +20.
The other side of the build has sorceress and abjurant champion, to make her defenses better and allow her to get them up tout-de-suite.
The marilith build boosts STR, CON, and CHA, she ended up (with buff items) with a STR36, CON33, CHA30, DEX23.
She had 428 HP, and a straight AC (with spells up) of 56 (GMA+6, shield+9, dex+6, size-1, NA+16, deflection +10). Her touch AC, the weakness I didnt account for was 25. Her sword (and the build gives her a mirror blade spell, so she just duplicates her weapons each day) was a +10 sword, +7 on attack/damage, +1 on keen and +2 for shadowstriking. Now that I think about it, your DRs should have gone after her first hit with each weapon, retconning is not my style, but Tallesin should have died, damn it. Her attack routine was +48/+43/+38/+33 and her damage was +27, and her tail could do 3d8+16. If the tail would have hit Ireth, the grapple mods made it almost auto against her.
When she Time Stopped before the battle started, she put a mirror image, displacement, bite of the werebear and sirines grace on herself. She has various and sundry magic items, buff +6 for STR, DEX, CON, CHA; the aforemented long sword, vest of resistance +5.
Feats are the usual assortment of WF, GWF, WS, GWS, Improved toughness, the multiweapon tree of feats and combat casting (to qualify for Abj Champ).

That's a pretty intimidating setup, all right. Much more, and the melee folks at least would be dead now. As it was, we just scraped by, and that because she didn't focus fire. She could easily have killed one or two of us a round.

Before Debbie gets to have her next fun with you all, I wanted to step in at this point, seeing as Melinda referenced the Pact Primeval. In the Daystor universe, it doesnt exist. There are a few reasons for that.
First of all, if you read the description in the Codex as to how it came to pass, it seems like all the lawful sides (G, N, E) lined up against the forces of C/E as represented by the demons. Theres only problem with this, it conveniently omits one huge player from the field, C/G. Where were they in all this? There are plenty of examples of L/G allying with C/G to put down an evil threat. They usually dont ally with L/E unless tricked. When I think about a final apocalyptic battle, I think of it as being good vs. evil, not law vs. chaos.
Second, on the subject of tricking. The devils tricked the good deities into signing a really bad contract, if you looked at the fine print. Devils are very good at tricking stupid and greedy mortals. But the other gods are neither greedy nor stupid. The devils were dealing with deities much smarter and much wiser than they were. There is no way you would weasel a contract past someone as wise as Athena, just to name one. Shes the goddess of wisdom for heavens sake, she probably has a Sense Motive of +10,000. The gods would simply not have been snookered like the Codex describes.
Third and final point, which relates directly to Daystor. Even if (and I dont concede that it could have happened, but IF it did) it happened, it no longer matters. Thats because the old gods as you know, no longer exist in Daystor. They were overthrown in the Gods War. Even if the old gods had signed the Pact, the new gods certainly didnt. If it had happened, the devils would have been hoisted by their own insistance on signing on the dotted line. The devils would claim the new gods reneged on the deal, while the new gods would rightly claim that they made no such deal. So there it is, theres no Pact Primeval.

Just for your information, Cassiopia was the soul you had to free and she will be remaining dead. She will be the first occupant of the paradise of the new unified goddess.

Hey guys! Sorry for my slower posting rate. Just to let everyone know, my summer employment is draining more out of me than I expected (I'm working more nights than it seemed at first, in addition to my usual daylight work hours), so though I will be following along here, I won't be able to add as much for the next five or so weeks. I should be able to keep up and post when it's necessary for plot/dialogue/battle reasons, but with Tallesin being a male in a female's religion and with my backwoods jobs, I may be more of a supporting actor for a little while. Sorry for that everyone, but it shouldn't be too much of an inconvenience (and only a short-term one at that), I hope.

I've been trying to draw people in a non-OotS style again. I'm not any good at it, but maybe I'm a bit better than before I started doing avatars. Have a non-OotS Taleira, and please critique if you feel so inclined. I'd like to know what you guys pick up on and see if it matches the bits I'm not entirely happy with.

Telasi - Wow.

1) I think her legs are too long in proportion to the rest of her body.

2) The amount of shading you devoted to her torso isn't matched elsewhere on her body. I think it also makes her head and limbs look unnaturally two-dimensional in comparison.

Shading isn't finished, I just got frustrated with the completely flat drawing halfway through and shaded the part I felt happiest with to temporarily put my mind at ease.

That's also three for three on the disproportionate legs, my own opinion included, so I'm definitely going to work on fixing that next time I get to drawing.

Edit: Now with better proportioned legs and more shading.
