No kidding. My power went out for a while yesterday, too, so it was kind of a perfect fail for me.
In other news, welcome to the game!
All the new folks means it's time for me to get up to date on the group OotSatar collection, I guess. A couple people could use better/more current ones, too. Inkscape, ho!

Oh yikes! And thanks!
If you want to do a OotSatar for this campaign, feelfree.
I've heard imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. If so, have some flattery; I wish I could draw anything close to that well. Oh, and a brohoof for your dA avatar.
Not much to go on for me as far as posing and such, so I basically did as close as a 1-1 conversion of your sketch as I felt comfortable with in OotS style. As always, just ask if you want something changed. Also, don't feel pressured to actually wear the avvy; you have a nice one already.
Edit: Not a huge fan of the white cloak, there. Maybe a light blue instead?

I am actually inept at pretty much anything that does not use a pencil. It just takes practice.

Nah, I'd live to wear it! Looks good. Make the change to the color if you think it would look better, first!
Perhaps I could have Larry the White (Lab) Rat on the ground near her?
I think the blue looks a touch better, but it's your character and your call. Take whichever you like, or I can try another color.
Edit: Aaaaaand missed the rat request update while I was fiddling. I'll give that a shot now.
The blue looks a lot better there. Thanks!
FTR, her cape is actually attached to the bottoms of her halter top, but it doesn't matter, since it does not show on the OotSatar. She have the (now blue) scarfy thing on her neck.

I had my Adeptus Evangelion game tonight, and drew this while other people were in focus. For how I normally do with pencil and paper, I'm pleased. Took about an hour to do on the back of a sheet from my OotS HP pad.

Lol, I draw either in a notebook while on campus or on the back of a PHB 3.5 with some printer paper when at home!

No negative energy goes into that spell. Animate objects works on statues and tables too, and it's a Transmutation spell, which turns things into constructs, not undead. Using it on a corpse should literally make it into a flesh-puppet. Turning shouldn't work.

Oh -there-'s Larry! I didn't notice him the first few times. Sneaky little thing.
Hi Snowbluff! *hugs* Look forward to seeing you IC!

When I read the spell, I assumed you were using Animate Dead. However, reading the Animate Object spell, it says you can only use it on inanimate objects, and specifically does not list flesh as something you can animate. So it would have had to be animate dead.

If a dead corpse isn't an inanimate object, I don't know what is. I'm confused. Obviously the spell would work on a (say) wooden puppet, or a stone statue. There's nothing special about flesh as opposed to wood or stone. It's just another material. And the spell description says that an animated object can be of any nonmagical material.
Melinda doesn't have animate dead, nor did she, or would she, have the components prepared.

Heck, wouldn't necromancy like that be against the game rules? You did say nothing related to undead in the 16. I, for one, read that as no undead PCs and no PC necromancers.

inanimate (comparative more inanimate, superlative most inanimate)
1.Lacking the quality or ability of motion; as an inanimate object.
2.Not being, and never having been alive
From the PHB
can be of any nonmagical material - wood, metal, stone, fabric, leather, ceramic, glass, or the like. With such an extensive list and flesh not being listed, it would have to be assumed it was not included

Would it be any more persuasive that three of the materials listed - wood, fabric and leather - are in fact formerly alive? Leather is more or less flesh, after all.

Rather than have this debate escalate to the point where it threatens the campaign, I would like to propose a simpler solution. Debbie misinterpreted the spell that Melinda was trying to cast, however by the wording of the spell, she would not have been able to cast it anyway, nor does she even have that spell. So if Melinda deletes that part of her post, Debbie can delete her response...the most important point of this meeting was that Carlita has no interest in raising the assassin, her religion doesnt allow for it, and the assassination was to send the message that the religion of Silescia wanted to send.

Yeah - it's really a minor point, and I'm perfectly fine proceeding without it, though I confess I'm a bit sad at the lost of cinematic poignance. Melinda was really pissed about that, because it rubbed a particularly touchy nerve, which I've exposited on in just my last post, and sorta lost her sense of decency just then.
Just one thing though - am I reading this right, that Atareth couldn't stand Melinda having done that and left in disgust? That's something we could try to work into a ret-con.
Edit: Yup, T. 25K plus 1630 gp, the 'minimum' that Drisae quoted. Just like the receipt she asked for from the statue at the beginning of the Cups. Same ditzy lady.
We'll see if it gets us all killed this time.

I thought about saying that she was still within earshot, but there was so much chatter in the interim, she would've strolled out of earshot. It's not hard to find Atareth, and she knows it.
