help finding a suitable pic for a character
i've been playing a character for a short while that i really come to like. she's a woman warrior, past military, in a fantasy setting, with somewhat of a sour/ b*thcy disposition. (if you've been reading my journal this is of Course a pic meant for Lynn)
i want to find a suitable pic to represent her. i need a base pic as the DM is quite a wiz at phtotshop and other such programs, but a base pic does most of the work.
can you help?
what am i looking for:
1) a pic of a warrior like woman. NOT super beautiful/ sexy, NOT tremendously, um, endowed. with sensible scale armor or similar. looking for something reasonably realistic. (yes, i know these requirements narrow down the choices a LOT).
2) she shouldn't be smiling. rather quite serious. it would be a bonus if her expression should be grim/ annoyed/ frustrated/ angry/ not in good humor.
3) another bonus: i'd like her equipment to be battle worn (though that could be done with photoshop i guess)
so far i've been using the following pic:

Re: help finding a suitable pic for a character
My first thought was using an image of Balsa from Seirei no Moribito, but maybe not the right type of weapon/armour?

Not all of the armor is quite right in any of these, but it's what I could come up with.

I am seriously shocked that nobody has posted a picture of Red Sonja... Shame on you playground... shame!
EDIT: Oh you wanted sensible armor Your a women, unless you want men in speedos running around I recommend you stand by the natural order ... However I will admit I am against Wizards wearing pointy hats I view it as a badge of slavery to a muggle king... The only head gear a Wizard should be wearing is a Crown... His nation? Should be casting at least cantrips, his slaves? Should be working endlessly in the mines fully mindraped into wanting to work 16 hour days digging for your material components, and your "champions" should be out collecting your material components for your Epic Spell that shall elevate you into godhood and allow you to crush your enemies
...But that is besides the point The armor crafters guilds by-laws strictly state...Last edited by Calanon; 2012-05-18 at 02:55 AM.

Re: help finding a suitable pic for a character
first of all, thanks for the suggestions. i will see what my DM can do with some of these pics.
the pics that fit/ add an interest to the character are as follows:
- NikitaDarkStar's knight concept (the right most one especially). the armor fits nicely, and the general expression is fine. wish the character was doing something, but you can't have it all.
- the second Ulla picture by Geostationary- the focus on the face may be an interesting change. i'll need to change the hair color to black if possible. interesting face.
- first pic by Rallicus- i love the posture. again, will have to change hair to black.
anyone else would like to suggest?Last edited by Kol Korran; 2012-05-18 at 04:31 AM.

Re: help finding a suitable pic for a character
There's one or two A Song of Ice and Fire characters that may fit that description:
- Asha Greyjoy
- Brienne of TarthI prepared Explosive Runes this morning.

This one looks pretty pissed off and battle-hardened, not sure if you like the outfit.Spoiler
There's a hint of a smile, but I get a very strong "I take no nonsense, soldier" vibe from her. Plus, there's a scar.Spoiler
