When we are a proper group, I can do most of the social interactions, +8 diplomacy and +10 bluff as well as +10 disguise and good perform checks. When am I getting my equipment back, anytime soon would be nice.
Tomorrow I'm going on holiday to San Fransisco and coming back on the 28th. So I won't be able to post at all tomorrow and posting will be sketchy until I come back.
"What's your name" or more precisely "What name do you currently use?" Its a known fact that pirates don't use their birth or given names. So she is basically asking you what name do you want her to call you by.
Well, looking at what people have said I think I'm on the way to getting my stuff back.
Well everyone but Crey and Bart have other methods of gaining equipment back.... oh well at the very least Bart may end up with a companion at least... to be honest though i am losing interest in this game. I am usually apprehenisve about joining games that immediately take all PC's possessions from the get go (some people enjoy it but I am not one of them) and the fact that we have not done much of anything in this game other than to do our best with gimped level1 characters.

I understand your apprehension about not having your equipment, but the point to the beginning of the adventure is to make the social ties that enable you to get your equipment back. There are also other venues to getting equipment. Unfortunately we lost the chef's mate early on and there are clues and opportunities for that character to get replacement equipment and other's equipment. IIRC, I had Plugg state the chef's mate was out of commission and another would have to take her place.
Another problem with this particular Adventure Path is the beginning is definitely not conducive to Play by Post environment. Of course my schedule has not helped that out either. But the first couple of days on the ship are almost purely RP'ing: building relations with the other crew members and working towards getting some of your equipment returned to you.
Decided to check into the twinand see how everything is going...

Yeah, the game does put the characters into hole. But there hasn't been too much combat yet, so we haven't needed to worry about getting gear.
Ask the assistant cook to look around the galley after work. Took my character a while, but I have found quite a bit of gear that can be used to help out while you are trying to find a way to get yours back, either equipping the various guys, or being used as trade goods.

That's how it goes. If you have a good group, then it can make for a fun experience.

....All good and grand but when you are playing a class that is specifically built around combat you feel rather useless since you are really doing nothing or lack the ability to do nothing. I have been lucky at rolling diplomacy if that wasn't the case then this would have been much more dull. This first part seems to cater to faces/sneaks which is all well and good but when there is no party cohesion people have a chance of being left behind rather quickly.

There's the one guy in our side of the campaign that is like that as well. This is where those with the good skills and abilities come in and make introductions. Don't worry, it can't all be softwarfare.

Things have been slow here and that is my fault. I own up to it and take responsibility for it. On top of that, the initial part of the adventure is built around a lot of role-playing which is not always what everyone wants nor is it always conducive to this environment. As such, I think know we have lost some players along the way, in as much to my periods of being unable to post as well as not being able to hold everyone's attention.
I would like to know who all is still interested in this game. I would rather not fold the game if we still have enough people interested. I am running two sessions of this game and if there is not enough in either, then we can combine the two groups and make one group out of it. Both groups are in similar locations of the story so there will be little effort in combining the two.
Sarone has also graciously offered to co-GM the game in order to keep the story moving and if we do continue, I will be tapping on him to assist me along the way.
Please reply here so we know who all is still interested in the game.
I am still here, I just had the bad luck of making a character who is gimped mechanically towards role playing, I feel that as a player i have put in a decent effort to mitigate the disadvantage but so far that's been all there is and to be honest the main dimplomancer of the group (the bard) is not liked by my character. He thinks the bard is a pompous self important twit that's all bark and no bite so any help from that character in terms of roleplaying would be turned down.

I'm still here and still interested. My own posting has been a little rough lately what with working two jobs now. I'll still be able to keep up, though. And no worries, Morbis. Most of us don't seem to be very charismatic on this ship.

I'd really like to stay. But my character isn't wrll liked... yet.
There's no reason why you shouldn't stay, just because my character doesn't like yours doesn't mean I have any IRL problems with you sir. It's just that your bard has the habit of slighting and belittling my character to improve his (the bard's) stature by use of slander. My character is short sighted and has a temper so when you combined the two character's it's not a good mix. The only thing that may happen, possibly to the bard's deteriment, is that my character would call out the bard and issue a duel the next time the bard opened his big mouth. Aside from that possible outcome, my character will simply ignore the bard, he will not go out of his way to start a fight unless the bard shoots off his mouth in front of the crew again.

Xavius does plan to assasinate Mr.Plugg, seen as he killed his father and once that has happened he will no longer need to pretend who he is and will instead completly ally with the other PCs and use his bluff against other pirates.

If you inform Bart of this then things will be smoothed over permanently and he will enjoy helping as well.

He can't trust him yet. He doesn't know who to trust, he just mainpulates the pirates he secretly detests and does everything he can to stay alive, he used to be on a pretty brutal pirate ship where he saw people like you get killed or worse, so he's unlikely to act similar to you.
Surely he can trust the people who were press-ganged with him. At least they all have a common experience to speak from, right?
