Each character that's going on this mission gets a very nice magic item above and beyond what I mentioned before. It can be something new or a better version of something you have now. Xinth got a much better rapier than he originally could afford, for example.
Only two PCs and one primary NPC (Zif or Frixal) so far. Though Kirzen is leading the expedition to start, she and most of the escort fighters are on a slave trade mission and won't be with the others very long. However, A trio of male fighters (level 4, commoner drow) would accompany the small mission. They won't necessarily go above ground, but aid in getting there and secure a spot underground somewhere near where the others exit as a base. If you guys want you can each play 1 of them. Easy enough to write up and they could all be very similar.

Are we choosing this item, or are you determining what it might be after we have completed the character generation? If we're choosing, is there a price range we need to stay inside?

A issue regarding the Blinded PrC: One of the prerequisites is Intuit Direction - 5 ranks. Intuit Direction isn't a skill and I see no other mention of it in the book. I know he's not into Blinded yet, but I wanted to make sure Lomni had all the prerequisites. Do I ignore that one, or what?

Yeah I think that's one of those 3e things, so we'll just ignore it.

Are you going to assign starting age for each PC due to the familial structure?
yeah, though I haven't worked out the details exactly, there's at least 3 years between each sibling, and more between the later ones. Suffice it to say for now that all the siblings listed are adult age.

Excellent.

So does the family have devices for family members to use when they take up such expeditions? For instance, a Field Provisions Box (MIC) to keep them fed, etc. Or do we not need to worry about those sorts of details?
The three brothers would be out about 100 feet beyond the party, and the three fighters another 100 feet from them. Ordinarily, I think a drow scouting party would have been sent out first and would have been a longer distance from the main force, but this should be sufficient to give the bulk of the party fair warning of anything in their path. I'm assuming the brothers and the fighters would spread out when the cave widens and come back together when it narrows.
At 100' they would be out of sight at times due to tunnel constrictions and curves. But using that distance as a base is fine, with at least one of the forward patrol in sight of the brothers in such circumstances.
OOC:
Xinth is using his song to inspire courage. Since inspire courage has no time limit, everyone gets +1 attack and damage until I feel like not singing anymore.
This is probably a very bad idea. They will want to move as stealthily as possible through the underdark. In all likelihood, Frixal will take her whip to you for doing it.
Xinth gives a malicious grin at his sister's sport. "A fine catch, my dear sister, despite the... wear and tear. Not nearly as lovely as you are, of course."
Bluff, is it not? I want to find out if the matron has... forgot to tell me something, and get more information in general.
Not sure exactly what he's trying to do here, but most Bluff checks are opposed by Sense Motive.
ooc: Is the map of their entire route to the bottom of the chasm?
Ahh thought I put that little detail in the beginning posts, but seemed to have missed it...
The map shows the route from the point where Kirzen and the slaves leave on their way elsewhere. Kirzen knows the way to that point very well, and maps of the route back through the secret tunnels of House Min'Doan would be too risky to lose, so they saw no need to put that on the map.
Ok, so I guess Lomni's action will wait until he sees what affect the warrior's poison darts have, if any. Unless of course Lomni can get a Ray of Enfeeblement off before we get into init order.
I gave you guys the advantage of getting into position and preparing for battle, so you could cast some buff or protection prior to initiative. Reminds me, I'll edit, but Zif would cast just such a spell.
With your superior infravision you might be able to pull off a pre-init attack spell of medium or long range, which that Ray is not...
Xinth activates his scabbard of keen edges as he draws his rapier, and slides his kukri from his sleeve into his hand as he moves in, about 10 feet to the right of Lomni.
