Re: [Hourglass of Zihaja D&D 4e] Heroes on a Sea of Swords OOC II
Nice cloak.
Question, doest my power where the slide are converted to teleport because of my feat become a "teleportation powers" or does the cloak work only with power branded with powers with the teleportation keyword?
I think it probably only work with power that have the keyword as the feat doesnt say it add the teleportation keyword, but I am not sure.
Re: [Hourglass of Zihaja D&D 4e] Heroes on a Sea of Swords OOC II
If it doesn't say it gains the keyword, it hasn't got the keyword, sadly. It'll only work on powers that explicitly have the teleportation keyword. However, it does not specify it has to be a class power; it should also work with item powers that possess the teleportation keyword.

That is a nice cloak. I need to ask for one like that for my Eldritch Sidesteppin' Warlock in Chambers' game.
So on the warforged scrap (assuming we are going to scrap them), I seem to recall that they were using built-in crossbows, is that correct? Would Medinah be able to recycle one of those to be fitted into her at some point?
Oh, and I gather we'll get the XP at the next extended rest?

I'll give y'all exp as soon as I find the document with the combat stats for that encounter .

Magic items? You'll get nothing and like it!

Re: [Hourglass of Zihaja D&D 4e] Heroes on a Sea of Swords OOC II
Does anyone else have interest in the cloak?
It is better than my own (I had a +3)
I also can benefit from the proprety with one encoutner attack and two magical item powers (helm and ring).
It would also let me recharge once per day either the helm power (to teleport myself or an adjacent ally) or use that burst attack that let me teleport you adjacent to my targets.
I might also check out the other bard power when we lelve to retain and possibly get better usage out of it
Re: [Hourglass of Zihaja D&D 4e] Heroes on a Sea of Swords OOC II
Actually, I am going to change the property to grant the bonus whenever the wearer teleports; I think that was sort of the intention of the item, and it's somewhat poorly worded. It doesn't make all that much sense that it gives the defense bonus when you teleport someone else with a power that has the keyword, but not when you teleport yourself.
The power will still only work on powers with the teleportation keyword.

Re: [Hourglass of Zihaja D&D 4e] Heroes on a Sea of Swords OOC II
Well that sure would be great (I definitivly want that cloak!!!)
That being said, are you sure it wont be overpowered a little?
I basicly manage to teleport myself almost every round of a battle (if I manage my encounter power well, I can spread it 7 rounds, +3 daily powers, + 1 daily that will let my At-will do it on hit (less reliable) )... which means I'll get the bonus almost permanently during most fights (except when dazed, during long fights or where I have need for multiples teleport powers during the same rounds). Of course, maybe powers require certain setting to be efficient (area effect, the healing powers, etc.), so I cannot "always" teleport, but still most of the time I think.
At worst, I have no trouble trying it that way and if this proove too powerful, well change it.
As for the wording, I think they wrote it that way to prevent stuff that have teleport as a movement to benefit from it.

You may not have noticed, but Amirah has a magic item that gives her +1 AC and +1 Rf every time she shifts... and Amirah can shift with a free action. Sure, this cloak, being a bit higher level gives +2 not +1, but that is small potatoes. It is not out of line with what the party already has.

Re: [Hourglass of Zihaja D&D 4e] Heroes on a Sea of Swords OOC II
Right. Medinah's Armor of Dark Majesty grants +2 to all her defenses vs. attacks from enemies under her Warlock's Curse, which she spreads pretty quickly.
That cloak could benefit her the same way if her Aegis were to trigger regularly (teleport up to 10 squares and make a melee basic attack), but I can think of maybe two times it's happened this entire game so she'd really only benefit from it 1/encounter with her Avernian Challenge power. Besides, her Amulet of Life is pretty darn handy especially now that she effectively gets a better version of Second Wind as a minor action.
Re: [Hourglass of Zihaja D&D 4e] Heroes on a Sea of Swords OOC II
Um, so Medinah is going to start torturing this prisoner soon (as in, just as soon as I have time today to write up an IC post). I know it's a PG-13 forum and I will keep it within that, but I did want to let everyone know ahead of time as a trigger warning since we all have our own thresholds for acceptable violence.

Thanks for the heads up; fire away, you are unlikely to meet my threshold.
Oh and, as always, feel free to speak through Amirah or refer to her crawlies if you want to. If I had any ranks in intimidate,. I would've send them down his throat by now.

I imagined as much - and with Amirah's poor skills, that is too high to attempt as anything other than last-ditch Hail Mary roll. That's why I'm only offering it as part of RP. Medinah would be using the tools at her disposal, which includes an army of insects at her beck and call, not Amirah's own inexpert use of those same resources. I'm choosing to represent Amirah's poor intimidation skills as "she can't understand why anyone would be terrified of insects" - the cockroaches burrowing into the prisoner at this time are her polygraph, nothing more.
I fully expect Scylfing to have some other technique in mind for interrogation (seeing as he warned us in advance), but still, I wanted to let him know that he can spice it up another notch with Amirah, if it fits into the rest of the post.

Re: [Hourglass of Zihaja D&D 4e] Heroes on a Sea of Swords OOC II
Right, I figured that your offer was for RP purposes, since it's not exactly Amirah's purview (although creepy-crawly insects certainly could be), so it's something I may use in writing my post. She will be reverting to her true form, however, so communicating won't be an issue for her.
Re: [Hourglass of Zihaja D&D 4e] Heroes on a Sea of Swords OOC II
Does the prisoner's uncharacteristic howl bring Alvah's attention around? If so, you can roll perception to see the scorpion on the ground, and then nature.

Alright, nice roll! Someone's realized the sting is deadly. Are you guys done with him, or do you want to try and save him? Its a really fast-acting venom, but with Rahman's alchemist kit and some good Heal checks you might be able to get him awake and a few more questions into him. The pain of the poison might even give you a circumstance bonus to intimidate, if you play your cards right .
