Okay, So... Anyone know any Mongolian myths that could be relevant here?

IIRC, Mongolian myth was largely shamanistic and focused on animals and men. There was a Fire Mother myth, but I don't see how that would apply...

Of course Jones might be merely in transit over the Gobi, heading... who knows where.

I think this might predate the mongols.

Y'know, i'm starting to think that Jones might have been around already when fish started to get on land to take their first breath. >_>

(Or if you want to get more biblical, she could very well be Eve.)

That'd explain all of the mothering then, I suppose.

Not really. Eve was a terrible mother wasn't she? One of her sons was a whiny jerk who killed the other son over something really minor.

So she had a third one. That burned down, fell over, then sank into the swamp! But the fourth one... stayed up!

If that was a pop culture reference I didn't get it. Otherwise, it's been a while since I reviewed that particular mythology so I still don't get it.

Sorry about that.

Bane of my sense of humor, the non sequitur.

The Gobi Desert is a give away. Jones is a jinn.
Marco Polo describes them as haunting the Gobi Desert.
It explains a lot.

Well, what do you expect? The woman invented motherhood. Cain and Abel were still being beta tested.

Djinni are spirits of air, as I recall. Doesn't seem a likely identity for someone who sank into a mattress up to her knees and was able to dig through a concrete wall.

In my posts, smilies generally correspond to my expression at the time. As an example, means "huh?" and "Hmm..". Also, "Landis" is fine.

Yeah, it's humans who embody Earth - Djinni are either Air or Fire depending on who you ask.

Also of note: She looks like she always did, even when everyone back then had this protruded forehead and hunched over thing going on, hm?

Interesting indeed. The implications are quite staggering, in fact.

Actually, the Cro-Magnon were much like modern humans and quite gracile. While, perhaps, prominent supra-orbital ridges were more common, it's unlikely that Jones' appearance would have caused them to ask too many questions.

Sorry, anthropology/archaeology student. =P

But if this goes on any longer, then Jones will be very out of place.

Maybe shes simply an SCP hunted by the Foundation?

An indestructible human that predates all humanity?

I-We-Wow-Woo! Holy Cow!!

No wonder she didn't turn a hair at the prospect of fighting Coyote AND Ysengrin.

If we keep going back like this, we're going to pre-date Humanity. It's looking doubtful Jones is a construct of human belief as Coyote claims to be.

Prediction: The next panel is going to start with the words "Many Millenia from now", and is going to feature Jones battling a 400 foot Boxbot with death ray eyes.

The Tomblurb is going to read "Click here to learn about Terrible"

A Curriculum Vitae is like a resume, except in some edge cases where there are different guidelines for each.
