I should note that I would totally have Captain Rackham get involved, but raiding a Tirian ship is so far out of character that it isn't even funny.
On the other hand, I imagine that repairs will be complete by the time this comes around, which means he might try to stop the raiders. Assuming, of course, that he could become aware of the raid and find the coordinates. Or at least follow the actual raiders.
A shame really, because this is exactly who Vasae had in mind.
Oh! And I am correcting an error I made late at night. Tomin White is the ship's quartermaster. And the first mate is quite upset because she was promoted over his head.

Alright editing in a post. A note, if Morgus insists on talking to the captain, instead of hunting for the Bosun he will get an audience. You may have to roll if you decide to offer magical service in exchange for passage, as it will depend on whether desperation or superstition wins out.
TheDarkDM: Should I expect the Wraith to take part in this adventure? Just wondering how I should scale the difficulty.
Speaking of The Wraith, would Morgus's control of lightning and hail be a fair match for Uriah's weather control of Lightning and hail? I forsee an epic thunderbolt duel.
A shame really, because this is exactly who Vasae had in mind.
Well, there's no harm in asking. In fact, unless Vasae gives some big hints that he's interested in looting the ship rather than rescuing it, Captain Rackham is only going to assume the best of him.
What time and date did the event where Morgus went up to the Barnacle take place?
And just to make it clear, Xon will be controlling the actions of all the characters from the Barnacle and the rest of the "PC" ships?
Correct. During the adventure, I will be taking the temporary roll of GM. This is so we can have bigger plots, with more at work without jumping to something like a 100 advantage power game.

Mod Question for Xondure - We're kind of curious as to how Jonathan knows that Lucien's art is fake, given that even Lucien can't tell without his shop. He's not widely-known to be a master at Forgery, to the point that even Rayle, an actual expert on rare artifacts, isn't sure.
We'd also like to know how he knows about Arabella being a dragon, given that the grand total of characters in on that little secret is pretty much limited to Rayle, Lucien, and Arabella herself. Did he meet her some other way? Because Rayle only met Arabella six months prior to the start of the game, and probably hasn't seen Jonathan in that time. For that matter, how would he know that she was at the castle to begin with?
Or does "disappointing dragons" have some more esoteric meaning?
We don't mean to jump all over you, but Playground games have had trouble with secrets escaping through OOC avenues before, and we'd like to keep a firm handle on that this time through.

My only defense was that I had been up far too long. :small sigh: Probably should stop posting after 3. The art I'd just assumed was a little more out there, and the dragon part was due to his conversation with the captain of the guard. I simply assumed seeing as Arabella showed up in dragon form the staff would be aware of her nature. Sorry about that. If you like I can remove the post and edit in a better response.

Yeah, Lucien's bonus to forging papers and art items is +9 (+5 for his workshop, +3 intelligence, +1 cunning) so you'd need to beat my 1d10+9 to notice anything off, and that's upon close inspection. Granted, Jon probably suspects that Lucien is involved in some sort of organized crime (at least, as much as more than other nobles).
His staff would be more discreet than to blab about one of their guests being a dragon. They could be easily tricked or intimidated into giving that information, but they wouldn't divulge it freely. Lucien wouldn't tell them anything, so even the guards who have seen a dragon wing into the grounds would go the route of "I don't know what I saw and I'm not going to ask".

Alright. Though Jonathan does have ways of getting information out of people they never expected to divulge freely (yay jedi mind trick) I won't push it. Change should be incoming.

Just get a bottle of scotch into the guard and he will tell you some tales.

Does Intelligence mean you can do the Sherlock Scan? I'm wondering what Intelligence is cause Morgus has it too, potentially leading to MENTAL FISTICUFFS!
Oh yeah, I'm definitely playing Lucien like Sherlock. Intelligence would certainly apply to analysis and induction. Of course, Lucien also has 3 ranks of intelligence and 1 in Cunning, so I've bought the right to play him that way. Actually, I intend to pick up a 4th rank of Intelligence ASAP.
Hey Blade, if Captain Rackham takes up this quest to recover The Esmerelda how do you suppose he'd respond to Hakuhale demanding to help on account of 'Dire Omens!'.
Fairing from the realms of the Forever Wild, where it is eternally under nature's rule, a young Dwarf with a thick Scotti- I mean, Dwarvish accent was born there who quickly adopted perhaps the most noble of Dwarvish pursuits: Brewing and Drinking.
His name... is Jägerstein.
After walking through one of the various dimensional rifts between the Forever Wild and the Feywild, he found himself a great big ol' bear, who he promptly made his pet and called Smokey. He used his bear to taste test his brews, which by the way, are legendary. Through the campaign he was in, he made friends with a pretentious codpiece of a half-elf sorcerer named Ekthiew, and later joined the party he was in. Somewhere in this process, he was dubbed the Jägermsiter by my character, who was a Gentlemanly Dragonborn Vampire by the name of Gustav Grünewald, who had always managed to hide the fact that he was a vampire until he revealed it so the mage of the party could heal the wing of a red dragon, which was festering with a slowly corroding demonic energy from a demonic rock which exploded not too recently.
Anyways, Jägerstein proceeded to follow the party, and helped them successfully kill and utterly annihilate the universe's biggest most douchiest douche of them all: Torren Silverfern. I cannot begin to describe why he is, and it would take too long to explain, and all you need to know is he has the eternal hate of two campaigns upon him. In the final fight, he collected the prayers of a nameless God into himself, and quickly rose to the heights of an Over-god as we beat the crap out of him, finally destroying him with perhaps the most beautiful thing possible from a Rod of Wonder: Karmic Ray. We destroyed him with himself, effectively, and the amount of sheer hate he had accrued over two separate campaigns. Afterward, with the essence of the Over-god there, Jägerstein scooped it up with his stein, drank it down, and became an Over-god, where then he promptly resurrected everyone who needed a resurrecting, and sacrificed his Overdeity-ness to literally fix the universe while throwing a planar-wide party, setting himself up as the currently rising Demigod of Drinking and Partying.
I... really considered bringing him into this game, but I wasn't sure how high into levels of silly I would be allowed to go into, so I decided against it. However... I still really wanna play him.
...Technokami, no sort of emote I can give can justify my expression to your tale.
EDIT: On another note, I'm still stuck with my character. Talking with Xon, he suggested seeing about having my character knowing other PCs before present day. Anyone would like to brainstorm ideas on how Drallic might have known any PCs, one way or another?

A broadside of cannons.
Nah, he's not evil enough to just blow someone away without good reason. And I'm not an evil enough player to invoke the chunky salsa rule.
More seriously, he'd probably want quite a bit more detail than that. With any reason to trust her, however, she would be allowed to board, though she would be watched.

Sorry, I can't find your character, so it isn't known by me.

Maybe sometime he has come to Bukiya Inn?
Oh, right! Sorry I haven't put him here or on the wiki yet. He's still somewhere on the recruitment thread being worked on. That does sound like a great idea!

Alright edited in a new piece for the Greycourt scene, let me know if this one is alright.
Edit: And since we seem to have a backlog of dark reds out there, might I suggest Brick Red as a viable alternative as shown by the captain of the Dirty Hangman.
