I like these artifact spirits too.....although, would it be possible they play a sort of mental devils advocate to you? I was thinking of having the mask be the mental voice of self-doubt to Morgus and constantly putting him down (no, not euthanize).
Well each artifact spirit would have a different personality. They are after all people. And while this is mostly tongue in cheek there sure are a lot of them running around for such a rare species huh?
Jonathan's ring for example is stuck in its artifact form and likes to try and take control of his mind whenever he becomes too weak. So far it hasn't succeeded.
And I'm on west coast time, so you have about 26 hours Starsign.

So operation Dead Ship is recruiting! If I can get more than four players I'll try and get it underway immediately. Alternatively it'll be Operation Dead Inn, and will occur within Wayfarer's point. However to put the privateers at ease, the vessel being raided would be Tirian. So they could elect to follow the raiding ship out of harbor in the hopes of intercepting them when they try and capture their quarry.

Okay, thanks. I've got just the backstory and whatever story elements I can think of left to do. I'll post the sheet on the recruitment thread first so it can be looked over first.
...Well after I figure out this one issue I'm having regarding advantages. Reputation is considered Common, right? And Intimidate could be considered Uncommon?

Okay thanks. Could Well-Traveled be used in combat if one can justify it? (like say, my character's experience battling in many areas has helped him learn how to adapt to combat situations and use the combat area to his advantage)

No, combat experience is a different advantage.

You know, I'm beginning to realize that when I chose to go from being a player to being the GM, I essentially went from being a mere leader of some nation to being God. And it feels good.

Using up my and Da Mongoose's last 4 story elements. Her computer is playing dead at the moment, so I'm posting them all here. We collaborated, but if it is preferred that we post them separately just say so and we'll split them up once she's back online.
UPDATE: Took out 'necromancy' and the Whensid city state that was tied to it.
Spoiler
Elven Glade Magic: Also known as Abjuration outside of Elven Lands, Elven Glade Magic is well known for its long lasting barriers and shielding magic. Abjuration is a defensive magic, capable of creating long lasting magical effects from walls, seeming summoned from thin air, to shield like extensions that are as light as air, as well as suppressing, or outright canceling, magical effects. Elven Glade Magic is also well known for it’s powerful visual effects and sounds which make it almost completely unsuitable for stealthy purposes. Abjuration is also well known for its considerable casting time and it’s general bent towards more power the more hands dip into the spell at work. The most powerful barriers taking weeks to cast even with a group of mages to attend to the barrier at all times.
Fenwithh: Located in the south and bordering Wooodun lies the smallest Elven Realm of Fenwithh, a tropical paradise by anyone's standards. Fenwithh is home to the Yir and the Semari peoples, though the Yir act in stewardship of mainland goings-on for the Semari, while the the latter maintain and support the vast Elven Fleet for both the Yir and Elven Confederacy as a whole. The land of Fenwithh is unsuitable for growing most foods, though supplies the nobility of the Elven Confederacy with pearls from their shallow lagoons and tropical fruits brought home by the Semari. Fenwithh is home to the bulk of the Elven fleet factories, creating new ships with the guidance of Confederacy overseers. Each ship is named and blessed by a resident mage before setting sail. The Yir stand in stark opposition in regards to most mainstream Confederacy ideals, though it seems almost to be contrary for the sake of it.

Well, with zombies now being a thing, I just fail to see much of a difference between them. It isn't really a problem, as it has already been established that this type of magic is spread all over the world. It just means that it's less specific to elves and they have an extra story element.

I'd like to clarify, parts of the path of life, the path of enchantment, and the path of fate are not exclusive to high magic. And in other disciplines the same techniques would be called healing, necromancy, or divination.
The addicting side is enchantment empowering the mage at the cost of their grip on reality. Which is necessary in order to access more base elements of the three paths. Such as fate locking, and other epic level magics.
So if you wanted to write a elven necromancers advantage which was how the elven confederacy's culture acts around and uses such magics that would be fine. But you don't need to spend the SE on having it exist because it already does.
Edit: Oh, and anyone who learns from Fae automatically uses it in an addicting fashion.

@le Suisse - apologies again for the delay (and it looks like I was beaten to a response). If the judge is a decent judge of character/meaning at all (Tillik‘s not that hard to read, despite a somewhat alien mindset) - he’d likely notice that the bug man isn’t trying to sound threatening, but is making an honest inquiry.
Of Emeralds and Barnacle Teeth
Tales of the Dead Ship
Alright there are five ways to receive the coordinates for the Esmerelda.
The Captain of the Fanged Barnacle is a relic at the age of 53. As is usually the case with older pirates; Captain Dalias Holt is a cunning and resourceful old sea dog. He has memorized the coordinates and offers most of his own crew as extra hands. However, he insists his crew get their pay for crippling the ship, and one would have to have a navigator capable of tracking the drift of the quarry should their navigator prove persuadable. His offer is seventy for him and his crew, thirty for those willing to help them.
The Navigator of the Fanged Barnacle is currently with the captain and both knows the location of the battle, and has the expertise required to track her down. While Tamin White is with the rest of the crew, she is certainly not beyond being bought for the right offer.
The First Mate of the Fanged Barnacle is an ambitious man in his mid thirties who's been waiting for the captain to drop for the past six years. Henry "Throat Cutter" Smith has the coordinates memorized, and plans to use this opportunity to double cross the crew and make off with a fortune. His offer is 40 for himself and 60 for the rest.
Danny "Seapelt" was a man always looking for an opportunity. And when the captain left the ship to go look for another captain stupid enough to get cheated out of his share he saw just such an opportunity. Sneaking into the captain's quarters he stole the sea charts and made his way off of the ship in search of the highest bidder. Danny "Seapelt's" pelt is now decorating the ocean floor along with the rest of him, but the charts remain at large, if one is willing to track them down.
Finally an elusive elven figure calling himself "Farlin" claims to know the exact location of the Esmerelda. Of course dozens like him have cropped up in the ensuing chaos and one would be quick to dismiss him, if one was not aware they were speaking to a Fae.
There will be 3 real life days (around 1 in game day) to receive both the coordinates and a navigator able to chart the winds and tides to make an estimation of the Esmerelda's location. This may not be easy, but don't worry about it too much as ships without the coordinates will simply have to find a way to follow those that do in a good old high seas chase!
There will also be three additional "PC" ships that will be hiring from the ranks of the player characters:
The Dirty Hangman is a fast ship, if small, with an unreliable crew and a dangerous captain. (Movement Speed III (+6) Cannons I (+2) Followers [Pirates] (+1))
The Spotted Fish is an older vessel with a loyal crew. Quite slow but with more than enough cargo space to drag back whatever treasure lies in store. (Cargo Hold I, Cannons II (+4), Followers I [Sailors] (+1) Reinforced Hull (+2))
The Laughing Hawk is a good ship with a strong crew. Not as fast as the Hangman, or as solid as the Fish but with as many cannons as the two of them combined. (Cannons III (+6) Followers [Sailors] (+1) Followers [Pirates] (+1))

Some other notes: Rumors begin circulating on the 24th, if people think three days is not long enough I'm willing to expand the at port RL section to a week. The limit is there to keep the story moving.
Also, ship names were by far the most fun part of the update. If anyone has a replacement suggestion for the Smoking RainLaughing Hawk I'm happy to hear it. A few other names for it were the Bloody Skull, the Drowning Lass, and Laughing Hawk the Smoking Rain.

The Laughing Hawk sounds like a much better name IMO.
...On another note I need to finish my character's backstory but it's almost 2 AM here. And with how active you guys love to be around this time, I worry of falling behind a lot...
Also I'm not sure why might my character take interest in this unless he is well-paid or has already been hired by a PC who's taken interest in finding the Esmerelda. I prefer the latter though as it means more roleplaying potential!

So Jonathan himself won't be appearing in this adventure? I probably shouldn't have figured he would, but if he did I was wondering if it would be possible he might hire my character... If that'd be doable of course.

He might. Depends on how things turn out. I kind of think it would be fun for him to sneak onto one of either Jacob Rackham or Kessia Harket's ships while hiding his identity because he suspects something about the Fae's involvement.

Vole Mon Coeur!
To Lucien's chagrin, the boorish Duke Edward Brant, has arrived months earlier than expected to meet his would-be bride, Lucien's ward and cousin, the beautiful Odette, and away with her to his native Valand. While Lucien is loathe to let the tender young thing out of his protection so soon, his station will not let him refuse the His Grace. And the Duke's timing couldn't have been worse! Renato Benso is arriving shortly, two vagabond treasure hunters are still in his house, and worst of all, Lord Captain Blake himself has come by a begrudging invitation!
The Players:
Renato - Odette's beauty and wit has not escaped Renato's notice. Perhaps, if another caught her eye, she would be persuaded to stay. A chance to practice his courtly charms and perhaps win the girl's heart.
Rayle and Arabella - These two have been bribed by Lucien to stymie any would-be Romeos and ensure that Odette has a lovely evening with her future husband! They've been promised full access to the Marquis's grand library and a relic from his vault if they're successful... but what is really best for the girl?
Lucien - The Marquis stands to gain a handsome sum from the Duke for Odette's hand. Is money all the matters to him? Or does he love his cousin to dearly to see her unhappy? Unfortunately, Lucien will be too busy keeping the peace at the party and getting dinner on the table to do anything else. The chef has unfortunately drunk himself into a stupor, so it's up to Lucien and his inexperienced maids to cook the entire meal themselves.
Captain Blake - A man accustomed to taking what he wants. Odette is a fine prize indeed... and worth a king's ransom! (Or a duke's)
ONE or TWO Other Players! - If interested in participating, say so OOC and tell me why your character might have acquired an invitation to the party and I'll write you into the adventure immediately.
The Game: Romance and Subtlety. Bring all your wit and charm and put your social advantages to use. Armed conflict is a sure way to thrown out by Lucien's guards, or worse, taken prisoner by the Duke!
Adventure Participation Rewards: Most characters stand to gain a rank of Charisma or Charm from practicing the art of romance. Rayle or Arabella may take a Magic Item if they play their part. For all characters, the reward will depend on your actions at the party. And it's possible someone will win the heart of Odette (and, at their inclination, may take her as a PC with the Beauty advantage).
Also: If you don't speak French, the title is really clever.

I would like to join in these shenaneganneries, seeing that where the Captain goes Lucrezia typically does as well.
P.S. Edit: I am interested in running a strange campaign of sorts as well.
Considering Jonathan knows most of the other attendants (Assuming I didn't step too far with him having refused an offer to join Blake's crew, that just leaves Renato) And does need to talk to Lucien I'd be delighted to join. This also helps avoid a conflict of interest in running Tales of the Dead Ship since it removes the temptation of making Jonathan too powerful too quickly.
All depends on whether Lucien would see fit to invite him however. If he did, I imagine it would be under an assumed name, though it wouldn't fool Blake (assuming again the proposed past between them is acceptable.)

Ah well, in the case Jonathan won't be in Xon's adventure, I don't think my character would be joining either adventures. He isn't really one to investigate something without the right price and he obviously has absolutely no social skills for Xid's adventure.

Plenty of crews will be hiring anyone they can, and the pay off is a lot of booty, so I'm sure Drallic could "come to an arrangement" with one of the captains.

TechnOkami - Lucrezia is invited by proxy of Blake, along with the other 'officers' in Blake's crew.
Xondoure - We'll say Lucien and Johnathon know each other from a ways back (some unspecified time). And that Lucien either ran in to him and invited him to dinner (before he knew Blake was coming and before the Duke even landed) or that Johnathon has just dropped by to ask a favor of Lucien before all the chaos begins.
Summary: Lucien meets Renato and invites him to dinner > Lucien meets Blake unexpectedly and is obligated to invite the captain and his crew, though he knows it's a bad idea with Renato there > Lucien hurries home to get rid of Rayle and Arabella > He encounters the duke already in his foyer, just arrived from the docks and unannounced > Jonathon arrives on business and is absently invited to stay for dinner because Lucien has far too much to deal with at the moment > Lucien discovers his cook is stone drunk > Lucien frantically prepare a meal as guests arrive (he also hasn't slept all day) > Rayle and Arabella descend the castle refreshed and dressed for dinner > Lucien pulls them aside, desperate, and asks them to help him make sure the evening goes well and that neither the noble Benso nor the scoundrel Blake nor especially Johnathon puts any romantic notions into Odette's head. Oh! And did I mention Captain Blake is here? Sorry! > Comedy of Errors!

Oh! And Jonathan could of course always crash the party. He's charming (and magical) enough that upon arriving at the castle to talk to Lucien and learning of what is afoot, to find his own way into the castle. Sort of a Dr. Who Psychic Paper slide in if you will.
Edit: Ah, that works too yes.
