[D&D3.5] Adventuring School (4 DMs & 20 players wanted)
The idea of the framework for this game was made by Doomboy911, a friend of mine. The framework consists of a Dungeon Master General (DMG for short) who controls the school staff and other NPCs that interact with the all the classes. Normal DMs will be in charge of a class, all the NPC and PC students alike in that class. It would be expected that PC would be about the same age group (unless you want to stick out like a sore thumb). The teacher of his/her class will be up to the individual DM to create, as well as any specific students they want to make. The DMG will make and control the Principle as well as any important staff/faculty he/she wishes to make as well as important students from other classes. The rest of the setting and the plot is up to the DMs to make. The idea for this was loosely based off the manga named Puchimon.
I'm going to be a player (I almost have a character done), but I'm going to be without internet for the next week. Doomboy will likely check in tomorrow as a DM. If so, follow what he says.

Re: [D&D3.5] Adventuring School (DMs & many players wanted)
Yes thank you for that introduction I can't take credit for the idea but I do enjoy it. As far as I can tell we'll need about four teachers. One for history one for magic one for phys ed one for monsters. Each of you guys are going to take on five students and run them through their classes. Players will be level 10. When the student finishes a class trade off to the other teacher.

I know I'm a guy, but I wanted to play a catgirl... Before you question me as a man, you should already know that there must be some sort of half-animal cute girl in a fantasy setting. Sadly though, I have to settle with a kitsune. And I'm primarily filling the roll for giggles.

I'm thinking my student will be a charisma based rogue/bard type and move on into shadowdancer, if allowed. Always wanted to play a charming shadowdancer with a band of shades.

I'm a werefox scout/warshaper. :)
thought of getting dual strike to use with skirmish on my claws that were enlarged due to grow natural weapon and improved natural attack, but thought it was a bit wasteful

Re: [D&D3.5] Adventuring School (4 DMs & 20 players wanted)
Get a building.
Spoiler
1. What game system are you running (D&D, Call of Cthulu, Palladium, GURPS, etc.), and if applicable what edition (Original, Classic, Revised, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 10th, etc.)? 3.5
2. What 'type' or variant of game will it be (i.e. "Shadow Chasers" or "Agents of Psi" for d20 Modern)? What is the setting for the game (eg. historic period, published or homebrewed campaign setting, alternate reality, modern world, etc.)? Lets say a few years after world war 2 most kids are in boarding schools. Magic and monsters exist with the world
3. How many Players are you looking for? Will you be taking alternates, and if so, how many? 4 dms who will make characters I'll message you the level and 20 students five for each dm the dms will talk amongst themselves as to which group they want. The students make your own groups and the dm picks them.
4. What's the gaming medium (OOTS, chat, e-mail etc.)? OOTS
5. What is the characters' starting status (i.e. experience level)? Level 10
6. How much gold or other starting funds will the characters begin with? WBL
7. Are there any particular character classes, professions, orders, etc. that you want... or do not want? What are your rules on 'prestige' and/or homebrewed classes? No psions or homebrewed.
8. What races, subraces, species, etc. are allowed for your game? Will you allow homebrewed races or species? 'Prestige' races or species? All is good try to keep it simple unless your a teacher.
9. By what method should Players generate their attributes/ability scores and Hit Points? Roll them up here.
10. Does your game use alignment? What are your restrictions, if so? Play your alignment right and try to stay in groups of that. Try to be good because I might have some bad guys come in.
11. Do you allow multi-classing, or have any particular rules in regards to it? Go nuts with it. Although multiclassing means your character goes to some classes on the subject.
12. Will you be doing all of the die rolling during the course of the game? Will die rolls be altered, or left to the honor system? If players can make die rolls, which ones do they make, how should they make the rolls, and how should they report them? Players roll but dms roll their own thing.
13. Are there any homebrewed or optional/variant rules that your Players should know about? If so, list and explain them, or provide relevant links to learn about these new rules. I will hunt you down like a fish if you sneak any homebrewing past me.
14. Is a character background required? If so, how big? Are you looking for anything in particular (i.e. the backgrounds all ending up with the characters in the same city)? Tell me why you're in school what you're studying for an give us some information.
15. Does your game involve a lot of hack & slash, puzzle solving, roleplaying, or a combination of the above? A little of each.
16. Are your Players restricted to particular rulebooks and supplements, or will you be allowing access to non-standard material? What sources can Players use for their characters? No tome of battle or psions.

I'm thinking I'll make a Big Stupid Fighter, seeing as we already have a kitty scout and a skillmonkey shadowdancer.
EDIT: Is savage species Allowed? so many ideas, so little time...
EDIT 2: How about dungeon mag and dragon mag?

Re: [D&D3.5] Adventuring School (4 DMs & 20 players wanted)
Thanks for the big 16! I'm totally interested as Petunia Periwinkle, an always optimistic, ever bubbly girl who just happens to call forth horrible beasts from the pits of hell. Mechanically, she'll be a conjurer 3/master specialist 2/Malconvoker 5.
Re: [D&D3.5] Adventuring School (4 DMs & 20 players wanted)
1. This is intended to be a school for adventurers, yes? In that case, what kind of clientel do we specialize in? Is this a high class boarding school where only the wealthiest of children may attend? Or do we accept anyone who shows talent? Somewhere in between/. High quality boarding school that will dish out scholarships to kids who show potential
2. You stated sometime after World War 2. This is set on an alternate Earth then? What is the power level of the world? Is magic commonplace, and if so, what has the effect been on the development of technology? How does magic interact with tech, if at all? Any improvements magic could dish out the fact that monsters exist kind of bust it out. For every car that gets built there are a thousand different bodied species who want one and the focus gets put more on variety than improvement (first person to brings me an image of a car for mermaids that I like gets to level up)
3. How common are monsters in this world? Other humanoid races? Very common and most monsters have swallowed their pride and coexist with humans the troll finds that he can get more money by getting a office job than he could menacing people at a bridge.
4. Besides psionics, are there any sources you can think of that wouldn't exist in this world? Tome of Magic, Tome of Battle, Magic of Incarnum, etc. No tome of battle or I will hurt you fighters should learn how to fight better not be given better powerups. Dragon mags and dungeon mags are fine as long as you cite your sources. Keep your guns within the era and only if you're taking some classes for proper gun use. Also savage species is cool. This might not ring well with everyone but I have the intention of adding a school just for girls which means the one you're in would be an all boys school. This isn't to say no girls allowed at all just make sure ladies that you roll up a boy or a girl who's really good at hiding it.

And with that, 1/2 my build is LA. Totally worth it though.

Kinda kills the idea I had for finding a meek caster girl for my character to protect. Oh well, I still have the perfect Jock.
hp (3d8)[4][2][2](8) (2d10)[7][10](17)
EDIT: would you allow improved toughness to count as toughness for qualifying for stuff?
EDIT2: Arms and Equipment Guide?
EDIT3: Also, would allow a Primary natural attack that gets +11/2 Str to damage to be treated as a Two-handed Weapon?

Re: [D&D3.5] Adventuring School (4 DMs & 20 players wanted)
Completely interested. Though I have one question- Can I use the superior unarmed strike/ snap kick feats from Tome of Battle? I'm gonna go for the big bruiser martial arts type.
Yeah I am having no luck in the die roller -.-
