Find me an instance where a character's speech is cut off mid-word (due to panel change, interruption, death, etc.) where there would have been no audible difference if the character had been able to finish the word in question.
roy dying his last word was I, maybe interupted, not sure. i figure I is I, finished or not finshed (same sound through the entire word). if this works OQ

Actually, no. While that is an interesting observation, it does not answer the question asked. The question asks for a word that, when cut off, would sound the same spoken as if the word itself were complete. Roy completing Yikyik's word for him does not qualify.
Oh! Apologies, I've been away and forgotten to check in. Yes, you are all due a hint: The sentence is cut off due to the death of the character speaking it.
He uses that rapier again in the very next strip (and loses it again, if you count dropping it as he did in both strips as "losing it"). In fact, that's also what happens within the Tarquin fight - he is disarmed, and drops it - so unless that does actually count, it strikes me that the example with him fighting Tarquin shouldn't be counted either....
rgrekejin is close enough, though I was originally referring to #714.
In hindsight, I probably should have added a note that my question didn't nessecarily require the rapier's destruction, and that it had to be on-panel.

Also, he didn't really lose his rapier in 714, as he had it again for the duel with Tarquin (it IS still the one Julio Scoundrel gave him, right?)
Man, I feel like my only contributions to this thread are problems in the answers.
What might lead to someone being eaten by a tiger several months later?

OQ. (Unless a link is required, in which case someone else can provide it and then ask a question. )

"The really unforgivable acts are committed by calm men in beautiful green silk rooms, who deal death wholesale, by the shipload, without lust, or anger, or desire, or any redeeming emotion to excuse them but cold fear of some pretended future. Find me an instance of a Gollum-like speech pattern.
How closely "like" is "Gollum-like"? It's not exact, but "Thog hate you, stupid metal bars" is pretty similar to "Smeagol hate nasty elf bread"... Name-in-third-person, expression of hate, negative adjective, descriptive adjective, object starting with 'b'...
It might fall under the "answers the question well enough to count" category, but I'm guessing it wasn't what you're going for. OQ if you want to accept it.

At least now I can get back to enjoying my glass of elven wine in peace and quiet, without being called on to intervene in someone else's problems. Clang, clang, clang goes the trolley! Ring, ring, ring goes the bell! Git away from me, ye daft fool! *sigh*

I would consider Thog's speech patterns more "Hulk-like". The instance I'm looking for butchers a plural noun in what is a very uniquely Gollum-like fashion.
