The maroon strikes at you but misses! You hit the maroon with full force and critically injure it! The maroon looks sick!
That will work but I can see I'm going to have to build it in notepad before posting them here.

Like this, in which we see Gregor and his dogs hiding in the trees next to the stream, the foe off-screen to the north. top. Isn't he sexy?
I choose pound - the '#' symbol, because that is what Grath does to the opposition, pound them!

Provisionally, here we see the rest of the party wandering along the trail. Top is NE here. How many mules do we have? Just Scuz (gone with Korgoth) and Spike? Thorwalt is stuck with being P for Priest until he chooses another symbol-Marn is C for Conjurer, Dardiana is W for Witch.
Out of interest, is there anything to both the female members of the party choosing such Classical names?
So, open stream bed straight to the opposition? Then Greor is guessing/spotting the distance and presence of difficult terrain. He might want to charge when things start moving.
Okay, haven't tried this system before. I don't think I want a letter, that'll just confuse me. Can I take $ for Thorwald? Cause he's so money. Or whatever.

Also, I officially have no home interenet access anymore (but I'm leaving for the new job sometimes tomorrow) so I'm going to have to ASCII battlemaps. If everyone wants to choose a (colour-nospecific) ASCII symbol for themselves, that'll be sweet.
Currently claimed are
r=redcloaks
a=redcloak archers
b=redcloak boss
m=maroons
N=for NPC, Bethlen
M=Mules
I'll go with... ₩ that W. But since that might not work, W or D works fine.
Going to be spotty posting for a couple of days as I will not be near a computer til about Thursday the 17th. Sorry will resume normal posting after that.
Hey, sorry but I'll be unavailable all weekend + monday. If we make it into battle, just count me as a melee npc until I get back

I dunno if we'll be in battle by then. Marlowe is riding the rails (funny, that - the DM is on the rails instead of the players) and needs to settle into a new place, presumably. Fun all around.

Arrived, no home internet yet but I've found a PC-cafe. School seems decent, although the only other English teacher is from Usbekistan. Waiting to see what the rest of you do next.
Gregor: Are you really sure? Attacking ten guys by yourself before your own team is in position?
Well, it does not matter whether they are in position or not as long as there is a surprise round and Gregor acts in it. If Gregor can delay until the surprise round happens because of any reasons other than himself that is just fine. This assumes that most of a/r are sitting on the ground and will stand up + draw weapons as their first round even if they win initiative.
... i'm not on that map... did I die without knowing it? :-p
Well, you'll be added to the map once you enter the area. Marlowe has yet to say that you've entered, so I can't just put you in.
-Edit-
Also, red text is enemies. Black is ally or otherwise not an enemy, at least not a known enemy. Dark red will be a fallen (and otherwise unconscious) enemy. A dashed red person will be a dead enemy.
I would not use any red for passive characters. Better gray for all really unconscious, stricken gray for all dead. May use darker color for temporarily disabled, like sleeping, held, etc.

Red: Enemy
Dark Red: Down enemy
Black: Other
Strike: Dead

upd: And yes, he's sorta brave guy.
Dude, first rule of D&D, whenever the DM says "Are you sure?" it means, "Don't do that, you'll die/get violated/turn into a newt and not get better".
On a different and sad note:
Is anybody else going on holiday? I'm leaving for france on the 6th and returning the 22nd. And I just got told, contrary to what I thought, that we won't have internet there . I'm sorry for entering on a break like this, I know it's a **** move, but like I said, I didn't see it coming.
Anyway, what's your plans for the summer?

I, too, am taking a trip on the 6th, to New York City. I'll be back on the 16th, but I will have internet on the trip.
EDIT: Marlowe, Grath still needs to know if he can charge through the trees or if he has to move normally.

I must have missed the question. No, sorry, you have to duck around the trees. I was going to add underbrush terrain as well, but maybe another battle. I've had to keep making trips over the past few days to sort out docs.
Places people!
Gregor and his dogs get a free extra move action, to make up for missing his OOC posting about confirming the...frontal charge on a numerous enemy well equipped with missile weapons. None of them will need to waste a turn drawing, BTW. They'll be drawing during their move actions or instead of.
I am perfectly fine with maroons doing that, did not expect that from people sitting on the ground. To make it quick:
1. If "stand up" action counts as a "regular move" for the purpose of "draw a weapon" action or there are less than five people sitting or any of those sitting people have missile weapons in hands, throw a javelin from behind the tree.
2. Otherwise, proceed with the charge.
Lance (1d20+6)[23] for (2d6+4)[10]
Bite (1d20+5)[13] for (1d6+3)[9] trip (1d20+2)[3]
AC 18, 16 (Gregor, dog; charging) or
Javelin (1d20+5)[17] for (1d4+2)[6]
AC 24, 22 (Gregor, dog; behind the tree)
Will post IC after we determine what action is taken. After that, initiative (1d20+4)[19].
On another note, having never made a summoner before, could someone with knowledge of it take a look at my character sheet? in the Stat Block section I put together the stats for the badger i'll be summoning, everything is as normal but with the +4 str and +4 con from augment summoning, everything inside [square] brackets, is its stats while raging

Only player characters get max HP at first level. Made some fixes according to my understanding of things:
