well I assumed you rolled for hp each time you summoned, I just happened to roll and 8 for that one using the dnd die roller not the forum roller as I just wanted something to put there. and then I dont know why i thought that bab changed with str boost... so fixed that and then i did forget to adjust fort from AS feat
Does that mean we also can't pass diagonally through them?
XY
YZ
Y -> Tree
X going to Z, possible or not?
Diagonal movement is fine (even if you might argue it makes no sense. Square grids make no sense.). As for the five-foot square thing, well, they're not small trees. Unspoiled wildwood. I've seen a LOT of trees in my time that were way more than 5-feet across.
Gregor, the situation with the redcloaks and the maroons was tense. They're ready for violence (even if the redcloaks didn't have much stomach and were trying to look innocent), they were just focussed on each other. All the maroons and redcloak boss were standing, and the redcloak closest to the bundle. So I guess you throw javelins.
Anyway, target? Position?
EDIT:From the SRD:
Spoiler
Wounding (Ex)
Any living creature damaged by a bat swarm continues to bleed, losing 1 hit point per round thereafter. Multiple wounds do not result in cumulative bleeding loss. The bleeding can be stopped by a DC 10 Heal check or the application of a cure spell or some other healing magic
Does that clarify things? Anything that gets hit by the Ravens continues to lose 1 hp a turn until healed. I'm ruling the damage occurs at the start of the wounded units turn.
The maroons come before Thorwalt in Initiative order anyway (glad I gave you the free turn, because most of you really messed up yr init rolls), so the situation will be different.
I've received a PM from ashes to run Thorwalt while he's away. Basically use Burning hands, activate fire devotion, attack in melee.
We are waiting on Horbin, who can't do much anyway. Then I reset the map and we start the first proper round. To make it crystal-clear- THIS WAS YOUR SURPRISE ROUND. THERE WILL NOT BE ONE TO FOLLOW
Also, I let Marn cast his summoning as a full-round action rather than one turn. That's an error I won't be repeating. We'll chalk it up to a minor miracle. Low level PCs get lots of those.
Going to be spotty posting for a couple of days as I will not be near a computer til about Thursday the 17th. Sorry will resume normal posting after that.

Hmm... wasn't that full-round-action summoning correct, given Marn's Rapid Summoning ACF used with Spontaneous Summoning and Extend Spell? If Summon Monster 1 is was listed on his sheet as already extended, with his ACF it could be cast as standart. The downside is that his über-badgers do not get full action the round they are summoned.
Aye Variant allows me to cast summon monster spells as a standard action not full round action though I did miss the part about them only getting a standard action in the round they are summoned... I'll remember for next time since it's kinda already happened
Just wanna let you guys know that Marlowe will be taking over my character while I'm away, and I hope you all have a great couple o' weeks. I'm coming back with a vengeance!
Y'all be good now.

Marlowe, I'm pretty sure you used to have as a sig something to the effect of "Why in the world would you think that PCs wouldn't attack?"
Here's the thing though. WHY would you ever think that player characters might not attack? Or that they might not do something stupid?
These are D&D player characters. They are, by definition, completely insane. These are the strongest, most capable, most intelligent, most wealthy, often the most beautiful people in a setting, and what do they do? They go into holes and KILL THINGS. Rather than living a life of luxury that they could obviously manage!
If there is a character, always, always, always have an idea of how they will react to violence from the PCs, and if you expect them to live, give them SEVERAL escape plans, and several things they can have others do to slow the PCs down while they escape.
What you did is this high level character played fair. NEVER play fair. You dont get to be level 10 by playing fair.

And yeah, I was expecting the PCs to attack. I wasn't expecting the hyperparanoid guy doing the advance scouting to attack on his own without reporting back or even taking a closer look.
I'm on my trip now, but I'll still be posting at least once a day, on average, for the next week. If you see a gap, it won't be for long.
