I would have liked to keep the maroon leader alive for questioning, but, really, Grath doesn't like people shooting at him. If he had any info we needed, best get it some other way.

I had such high hopes for the maroons...they probably wouldn't have entered combat unless they were actually attacked. If they'd survived they'd have turned up much later with actual PC levels as recurring help/annoyances.
So, that's only two redcloak archers left standing.

To be honest? It really wasn't clear that they weren't with the redcloaks. It seemed, at least from Delphi's point of view, that the maroons were just the people in charge of the redcloaks, and were reprimanding them for doing a sloppy job in killing the people we found. So, she's attacking indiscriminately, because they're all untrustworthy and potential murderers.
I know it wasn't clear. Gregor didn't bother getting a closer look (or listen). Under the circumstances, I felt I was cheating a little letting you overhear what you did.

Gregor spent several minutes in position within 60 feet from maroons, judging that was close enough to spend such a prolonged period of time. I did not bother with active listening rolls (probably I should have), but I guess he was eligible for some passive rolls or his usual passive take 10+3 listen vs DC X+10+6, may have had some chance of success, the question being mostly what is X. Normal talking gives X=0, but if louder, it could be into negatives.
I think even with move it is well into second range increment and outside PBS. Still likely hit with 20 for 5.
Ah, crud, sorry about that; I didn't look at the map when I posted, as I felt bad about holding things up. That said, 5 damage may well be enough, so things should work out.
@Marlowe:
1. Do I get it right that "4 shortspears, 1 alchemical silver" = "3 shortspears + 1 alchemical silver shortspear"?
2. How different is a "composite shortbow +2 str, medium" is from a "composite longbow +2 str, small"?
The doc is updated, feel free to take stuff (not so free to take the gloves )
Grath can't say it in person, but Bethlen and the girl are talking about the snaky amulet, I assume. One of the female PCs picked it up, I believe.
Grath takes the masterwork composite shortbow, str +1, unless there are objections. He's still pretty happy with his new axe.

(I'm assuming we will split the loot later, I can't use most of it but I do love gold)
Regarding loot, Gregor's preferred method is using useful, then equal share after reasonable expenses. Detailed the algorithm looks like so:
1. As soon as there is something useful, anyone in a better positions to use it gets it and uses it.
2. As soon as we're back to base anything not useful is sold.
3. If anyone spent any personal consumables on any right thing™ he is compensated from the proceeds.
4. Evaluate whatever is not sold and check if we can divide the sold loot + money according to everyone's share (shares are 1 per PC; might negotiate with allies/hirelings). If yes, end.
5. Otherwise either all agree to mark the diffenence and continue sticking together or anyone vetoes, we sell some expensive thing and go to #4.
Gregor will explain and advocate this method if/when the question of distributing the loot is raised, either today or otherwise.
Dardiana looks over the gear and sees only one thing of interest, which would probably be better given to someone else. "Does anyone want these gloves, or can I have them?"
Not sure if these are identified. They are probably detected by their definite masterwork appearance, might be detected as magical, but whater they are dex gloves or archery gloves or whatever is not yet known to the characters.
Gregor will not challenge their use by either of the girls, but will review these gloves' fate when back in town.

Either way, Dardiana never said "gloves of ____". Even if they weren't magical, she'd want gloves.
And yea, pretty much for everything. Detect Magic at the stack of everything, identify anything that was detected as magical.
Then that's even more reason for people to roll knowledge to try to find out what it is, for the OOC curiosity. So does Dardiana know what they are or not?
Hell no. If I give out cursed items, it'll be something like a suit of perfectly functional adamantine plate mail. That turns bright pink with girlish frills and a hearts-and-flowers motif as soon as it's put on. That plays "Stars and Stripes Forever" very loudly anytime the wearer fails a Move Silently test. And the theme-tune to "Happy Days" everytime the wearer commits an evil act.
I'm just waiting for Marlowe to get his exposition out of his system.

This way, you get exposition and experience (for "defeating" the Nixie). Although you'd have gotten a lot more if one of you had thought of brutally sacrificing a helpless captive.
I thought about sacrificing the dead ones, wasn't cold blooded enough, I guess. Plus I had no idea if these nixies were real or not.

Seriously, are you awarding experience for THINKING? I mean as in "thinking, rejecting and not doing"?
Honestly though, Gregor would not go so far in a proactive approach to the situation, especially with a live bait; the plan was merely to arrange river-deads-captives-camp with some distance each dash.
Going to be spotty posting for a couple of days as I will not be near a computer til about Thursday the 17th. Sorry will resume normal posting after that.

Experience for being of a certain alignment and brutal... really?
Grath really should have brought it up, but no one told him what the nixies were, and I was pretending not to have read the spoilers while totally reading them.
