Aw hell, why not do what the DM wants us to do...I'd rather the tiefling wear the necklace because I think it would bring some pretty clever dialogue given his background, but in the interest of moving things along...

Caleb - Does Infernion intend to kill her once he gets the information he desires? If so, then the bluff is appropriate, but if he actually intends to let her go then the bluff doesn't really mean anything. You can PM me with your answer if you would like.
no actuall ritual. The description was just fluff. It was a last ditch effort.
the real magic item is an Absence Amulet
Property: Attempts to scry upon you, your location, or objects in your possession fail, as if the target of the attempt did not exist.
Naw, I love all these guesses. This is fun as sh@! to RP with you guys! So, Chambers, who put in a character before (and of whom I totally forgot put in a character in the original recruitment thread) put his drow druid in again. Let me know what you think of it. I like it, the only thing is I would have to figure out a reason he is on the surface........but fluff stuff like that is easy. I was also thinking, depending on the submissions I get, maybe taking 2 people to bring the party back up to 6, whatchu guys think?
5 or 6, doesn't matter to me. the nice thing about 6 is that we can have RP from 3 or 4 people and you feel like everyone's chimed in, whereas in a party of five, you might get input from 2 or 3 and it feels lacking. Just my two cents.
5 or 6 is fine. I would say pick the 5th and then IF a 6th stands out grab them. Chamber's druid would be fine. Arya is a Beast Form focused build which could be really interesting. She also has effective ranged powers to make a very versatile build.
Maybe ask Chambers for a reason why she is on the surface?
It isn't carved into her skin, it seems more like a tattoo, but you don't see any ink. Her skin is still broken out in hives/is still red. She doesn't seem to be embarrassed or anything, but she looks at Infernion right in the eyes and her eyes seem to light up, though she says nothing.
Infernion's truly a character who deserves some spotlight with the great dialogue you produce through him. Feel free to take it. :) Because Dak has more interest in the necklace he just pilfered from her and the effects upon his new tiefling friend.

... Seems you guys have been really active while I was away, sheesh. Well, I do have a valid in-character reason for why Mai would let these shenanigans continue uninterrupted, but I think it's time to put an end to that.
Oh and I haven't had a chance to look at any of the submissions yet--that's too bad about Raus, I had wanted Mai to get her comeuppance against him but I guess she won't have a chance--but when I do I'll be sure to weigh in on it.
If Dak doesn't mind, Ewin would like to try on the amulet, just to see if something happens. I figure I'll just post IF something happens. ;)
And yes, I'm terrible at riddles or mysterious doors! :D
Oh I did want to mention I leveled up Mai. She only gains 4 HP, but she also gets two new spells for her spellbook: Twisting Lightning and Hold Monster, two L13 arcane attack powers in HotFL (that I need to find better spots for on her Plothook sheet). Next extended rest she'll be replacing Burning Hands with Twisting Lightning for certain. As always, the sheet's linked in my sig.
+20/AC, 2d10+11 damage, One Creature
Arcane, Weapon, Healing
Hit: 2[W] + Intelligence modifier damage, and until the end of my next turn, any ally who hits the target can spend a surge and regain additional hitpoints equal to my Con mod (only 1, lol)
I'm subbing out my L1 encounter which imposes a -2 to AC on a hit for this nifty power which will let allies spend surges on successful hits. Yes, this means multi-hitting powers and action points will let you spend multiple surges. Enjoy :)
I just noticed the submitted sorcerer is lightning/thunder focused, just like Mai. This could be a good hook or could be stepping on Mai's toes.
Thoughts?
I am not overwhelmed by many of the builds. I dont like the Psion, very fiddly and complicated. I dont have a problem with psionics (I like them actually), I just dont like the shaper.
I can be open minded though, if that is the character you all want.
I haven't spent much time with Pscionics in 4e yet. But Creed's backstory is freakin' sweet and lends itself for a LOT of great story twists for me as a DM.
Kadaith sounds quite interesting as a barbarian character. Gorthak was interesting as well, very odd backstory (good odd not bad odd). And of course, adding a Drow into the mix is always a fun thing
that backstory is cool! I give him that. Psionics are just a different method of doing encounter powers. They are not any more complicated then non-psionics, just different (and a little more versatile).
Like I said, I am not a big fan of the build...but the character concept is cool, and that is what really matters. PLUS, I am not the DM and the final choice is not mine. I am happy with any choice Celtic makes. His party making skills have already been proven.
