So, I misread my Healing INfusion: Curative Admixture. When I use them on allies, they spend HP equal to their surge value + 10 + d6, and they do not need to spend a surge! Cool!
However, I need surges donated (either by myself or by allies) in order to restore them.
Can I take one surge each from Ewin and Lucius? And in the future, do you all care if I judge appropriately who I take surges from, just to speed things along? I don't want to have to wait a full day's worth of posting to simply find out who I can get a surge from, heh.
Darn! And nobody remembered to use nonlethal damage so that we have somebody to interrogate.
I'd run after the last one, but I doubt I'll get him in my heavy plate :P
Sure Dane, you can have one of Ewin's surges.
For the record, Lay on Hands uses my own surges too, but we'll see how often Ewin gets to use that.
I guess I'm a little confused, are we healing/second-winding, short resting, searching bodies, and going downstairs at the same time? If you guys want to go downstairs, that's fine...if you don't want your encounters back. If we do a short rest, HM1 gets more time to escape but we'll go down the opening prepared. (but you knew this )
We can't do both, so which one do you prefer? I've put my vote in for short rest. Whatever ritual the humans were doing has probably awakened and/or alerted the "thing" inside this opening of our arrival.
Or maybe you guys intended to short rest the entire time and your verbage makes it sound otherwise (i.e., Let's Go Down The Stairs Now).

This is my question as well. You guys can take a 5 min rest, and then go downstairs, or you can just head down, but not get the benefits of healing up and getting any encounters back you used. But not both.
So will you wait around for 5 mins, or will you go ahead and go downstairs? I'll make an IC post when you guys decide.
I did see infernion mention a short rest, but Lucius "shrugging off healing" or whatever the wording was suggested he wanted to go down the stairs. So I guess the question is directed at Rausdower more than anyone, as the assumption would be to rest.
Not meaning to slow things down, but I do want things to be right.

I rested. The wording was more for the disease saves if I failed them but I got it first time. I saw you shoot stuff at me, but I'm busy exercising in between rests

Sweet! I will make a list of loot and spoiler it in the IC post I make. I will be making my "update" post here in a little bit. I will be going to visit family tomorrow, Saturday, so I won't likely be posting until late tomorrow night, Sunday at the latest.
Ok, on my phone, so this is easier in spoilers. They are labeled accordingly.
Dak:
Spoiler
Other than what I described, you dont see anything out of the ordinary. You dont sense a disturbence in the natural order of things too much. But you notice that the area the beam was in seems a little less alive. You arent sure what the symbols mean, but you notice the trinket and the sybols look alike. Ill sendvyou a pic later.
Ewin
Spoiler
You know these symbols to be of Asmodeus, but you also see ones of Belial. You know that, normally, Asmodeus and the other devils' symbols arent usually together, esp in rituals and the like. This does not bode well in your eyes.
Caleb, i will let you know what you see later. Because yall might want to do things once i do, and i am not at home to do that properly. Sobi will do that tonight.
I would ask everyone not to look at the map until Caleb makes a move, or explains things to your characters, etc. You can discuss what you would like to do with Caleb, if he decides to tell you all what you see. And just a hint, you might want to whisper
Ok, so is the consensus that we want to go ahead and fight. They don't see you for the moment. But as the moments pass, your presence becomes closer and closer to being known. Actually, I am just going to go ahead and do an initiative. I am going to try you guys, then the monsters. So, you guys will be able to go first. Have fun! The map is being updated right now for initiative.
Also, you guys can go ahead and look at the map, if you want. Basically, you now "see" what Infernion sees.
Lucius roll your mark attack for the Cultist not including you.
You mean the attack on the cultist next to my previously targeted one? I auto mark him since he's adjacent to the target I attacked with Threatening Rush.

Caleb, an enemy you cursed died. Also, what is the brutal curse number, 1 or 2? Because, if you want, you can roll damage for curse so that you never have to reroll it in the OOC. So say you curse brutal is 1....you could roll 1d7+1 for your curse damage, because no matter what you roll with the 1d7, the +1 will add one to the roll, so you will also roll at least 2, and therefore not have to reroll brutal rolls. I just recently found this out in another game of mine, and LOVE this little math loophole
brutal 1, that is a good idea. But that is the low damage way.
Re-rolling a d8 I am as likely to get an 8 as a 2. Just adding one guarantees minimun damage but prevents the re-roll for better damage. I will continue to re-roll the brutals unless it is a problem.

I agree with this and you beat me to it. It doesn't truly fix the math problem unfortunately.
