Default Need a different version of AOL Instant Messenger.
Lately, I've been having problems with my version of AIM. I have the latest version of it, and frankly I don't like it. With previous versions, I could change text colors (Which was very nice for RP), I could keep logs (Which was very nice when I needed to refer to something later. I wanted to do that tonight, but apparently the program has decided it doesn't want to go back that far, even though the IM was from today.) and there just seemed to be more options in general. My version doesn't allow either of those things (And until recently, didn't even allow bolding, underlining or italics), and as such, I want a different, less sucky version.

Does anybody know of the last version that had these that I could download? I'm starting to really hate this version of the program.

My first question is "Why AIM?"

My advice (aside from finding an alternate service) is to see if previous versions of AIM are available for download on the main AOL site. If the previous version worked for you, googling AIM ver X.0 (minus 1) might work.

Pidgin is free, and supports most IM "standards", including AIM.

There's also Meebo, but honestly I don't know anything about it.

Why are you not a fan of trillian? There are skins you can download if you don't like the style of it.
