Well, at least with stat destruction you can only burn your Military and Espionage, which means that you're left defenseless and anyone walzing in takes all of your Econ and Tech without a fight.
Of course the obvious solution is to do a double-strike strategy and simultaneously to nuking with all your Mil and Esp burning all of your other stats into Mil, but at least that takes two turns.
A moot point since those rules are gone now, though.

Well yeah, but to me that would be a bit too unfair, really. A final strike to kill as many enemies, sure, but outright donating all you have to someone else is more like cheating within the rules to me.
Besides, if you have allies like that, why on earth would you ever want to burn stats anyway?

How could one even accomplish such a thing, now that I think about it, in a six month span? Transferring control of a space station is one thing, but what about mineral deposits? Mines? Infrastructure that makes the scientists and thinkers of your nation actually worth a hoot?
Because the only ally I know I've got has no military.
Really, I'm just tired of trying to ****ing play nice. I'm done with it. I'm done with not acting like an overlording ass who threatens and bullies to get **** done, who backstabs and blackmails anyone that gets in the way. If that's what it takes, fine.

I don't do that, and I got two allies Admitadlly, it might also be because I don't meddle in most international affairs. And the one time I did, I've caught 9 kinds of grief on. BTW, by international affairs, I mean anyone by my allies. Their problems are me problems. Just need to ask.

Grim, you have allies because you are a useful pawn. That simple. As soon as it's needed, you'll be discarded and Australia will takeover whatever you have.

Quite a few of us are doing just fine without being overlords and playing nice with the npcs and each other. So I'd say blackmailing and backstabbing isn't a requirement at all.
In fact I'd say you have the opposite problem. I honestly haven't seen any indication that you ever tried to play nice in this game. All I've seen about Gaul is repeated broadcasts of the illegal shenanigans They've been engaged in.
Which right there is your problem. Whether its true or not, when people start running smear campaigns on your country you need to have a lot of really public charity lined up to counter it.

I don't know how they do it either, but people keep trying it. Hauling permanent stats around is a lot harder than building anew elsewhere, and that's if it's uncontested.
I'm sitting here in the boring room
It's just another rainy Sunday afternoon
I'm wasting my time
I got nothing to do
I start up the 'net cuz
I'm waiting EoT
As Total War is starting, and I warmonger
I'm moving around with my troops
My general's a fool,
The army's too cruel,
I'd like to call a truce or peace
I feel so outgunned,
No loot to be seized
But diplomacy is over, and I wonder
I wonder how
I wonder why
Yesterday you told me 'bout the British skies
And all that I could see was just a massive mushroom cloud
I turned my head up and down
I'm running running running running running around
And all that I could see was just another mushroom cloud
I'm sitting here
I miss the power
I'd like to go out with a bang worth a shout
There's radioactive fallout inside my lands
I feel so sick
As my statpoints announce
That they've all been subverted, and I wonder
Starting wars is not good for me
Getting nuked, all that results is a messy death
I'm steppin' around in the desert of glass
Baby anyhow a new army I'll mass
And again it all will happen and you wonder
I wonder how
I wonder why
Yesterday you told me 'bout the British skies
And all that I can see is yet more of their army guys
I'm turning my head up and down
I'm running running running running running around
And all that I can see is just the British army elite
And I wonder, wonder
I wonder how
I wonder why
Yesterday you told me 'bout the British skies
And all that I can see, and all that I can see, and all that I can see
Is just troops shouting "Hail the Queen!"

I like to think otherwise. Besides, I offer no threat, and they know I'll give 'em the results of my research projects.
Also, Murksa, nice lyrics.

I'd imagine that trading small amounts of permanent stats, like one p.Tech or p.Econ, wouldn't be too difficult - handing over the full rights to some mines, or some companies, or a few groups of the most elite scientists. But when it starts getting to the point where you're trying to move 10 p.Econ out of your nation which is all your nation has, common sense arrives and smacks you over the head with a cluebat.

But, but, I don't WANT to give up my permanent stats to someone I don't like! Quick, someone else take them!
Also, I loved the song, Murska. Nuclear attacks are serious, sad business!
Take a little walk to the edge of space
Where you can touch the black
Where the stations loom,
Like birds of doom,
As they drift, and crack.
Where secrets lie in the signal wires,
In the rocket fires,
Hey man you know
You're never coming back.
Past the sats, past the loops,
Past the air, past the stacks.
In an invisible suit comes
A tall handsome man
Doing brisk business
With a gun in his hand.
He’ll whisper in your ear
Show you all his high-tech toys.
Rekindle all those dreams
It took you a lifetime to destroy.
He sells an end to war
That you ain’t seen before
And you know you're
Never ever coming back.
He's a god, he's a man,
He's a ghost, he's a guru.
They're whispering his name
Through this disappearing land
Made the stars move
With a wave of his hand.
You ain't got no money?
He'll get you some
You ain't got no army?
He’ll get you one.
You ain't got no self-respect,
You feel like an insect
Well don't you worry buddy
Cause here he comes
Through the battles and the riots
And the conference and the slum.
A shadow is cast wherever he stands
Stacks of green paper in his
Space-tanned hands.
You'll see him in your nightmares,
You'll see him in your dreams
He'll appear out of nowhere but
He ain't what he seems
You'll see him in your head,
On the TV screen
And hey buddy, I'm warning
You to turn it off
He's a ghost, he's a god,
He's a man, he's a guru
You're one microscopic cog
In his catastrophic plan
Designed and directed by
Those star-touched hands.
They shoot to reach Mars.
They just might.
And they can outsmart,
All of your psychs.
They will make a death ray,
Just so it gets made.
They're crazy you know.
It's debated,
What did bestow,
The mind of a misfit.
They say their addicts.
Their brains get their kicks,
from some chemical ish.
And they're all like this.
Creating bio-weapons,
Just for fun.
Call their stuff junk and they'll show you.
All the Minds like Grim.
They've got the Minds like Grim.
They've got the Minds like Grim.
You just think they're trying to troll you.
Look into their eyes and you'll know.
That's just the Minds like Grim.
They've got the Minds like Grim.
They've got the Minds like Grim.
When did it start?
When they got so bizarre!
Somethings not right.
But meet them and see,
They can be friendly,
But much more nutty!
So.
What made them start.
their worship,
of Deadric lords?
That's erratic!
You say its a mere,
video game but over here
In the Antarctic it's sincere.
You want to know, what makes us go?
What makes us run away from telepathics with sheer fright.
But I won't share this tidbit.
I swore to Sheogorath I wouldn't!
I'm afraid that's binding!
I know you yearn,
And you ask nice,
In hopes that I might,
Let you know our that tidbit.
But you'll have to dissect me for it!
So no you can't have it! (Sorry)
Creating bio-weapons,
Just for fun.
Call their stuff junk and they'll show you.
All the Minds like Grim.
They've got the Minds like Grim.
They've got the Minds like Grim.
You just think they're trying to troll you.

I honestly think Gaul had a shot, if they played the diplomacy game. You'd be surprised how easy it is to convince certain NPCs to support agendas, they already favor, and NRE & Soviet Directorate didn't win many friends with Cislithuania business. And PCs can be bribed into supporting you, against PCs, whom everybody is beginning to fear as future overlords of Earth. I mean, I'll eat my hat, if that's not what UK-NRE-Soviet Directorate alliance is planning . Ah, well, if there is a constant in TWs, is that nobody ever attacks Murska and his cronies, as they grow stronger and stronger.
There is an easy way to transfer all of your stats. Declare that you nation is now a protectorate/unconditionally surrenders to nation X and have your leaders eat the suicide pills.

I learned two things about Montgomery that day... ...The first was that his men would follow him off a cliff. The second was that he would lead them there.
I don't think that would deter the invasion though, and what it would do is completely trash the organization of your defense forces' organization. Depending on whom your beneficiary might be, they probably won't want to get involved anyway.

It should work in this case - the casus belie for invasion of Gaul is that their leadership performed a number of agressive acts against Soviets and NRE, and developed biological weapons. If they surrender to Project Earth, that will stop the weapons program and pay reparations for damage caused, while Gaul leadership stands international trial, what justification would NRE/Soviets have to invade them?

That appeasement to military dictatorships always fail?
I don't want to stick around and bull**** around for another two or three turns, hoping for support that will never come.
I don't even know what acts against the NRE I was supposed to have commited. I sent all of two messages to them the entire game and never did anything to them.
