Malay hasn't been part of Economic Pact to begin with. And considering certain things, I don't think they will be in the near future, unless there is a change in government.

If I'm wrong about that, feel free to PM me and explain it to me.

The Grim and TELEPATH are tied for the worst reputation out of all PCs. 'nuff said, am I right?
They didn't directly back them, but they certainly weren't repudiating their actions, either. If I recall correctly, they had officials going over there until the warzone got too dangerous to send people into, which would certainly indicate that they approved of them and were maintaining economic ties.

Also, they had already broken the treaty by not even offering to assist us when we were attacked. You don't get to hold to a mutual defense treaty only when you're the one being defended.

You don't? I thought we were getting along pretty well, at least. (Also, remember how I said you'd need to sweeten the deal to get psionics? I'd consider helping me out for however long this thing with the Amurians goes on for plenty to pay for that, and any technologies we have that would help you fight, of which we have several...)

KalShurak: Is it possible for us to just do a PM-level meeting in the thread? I don't have that many things I can get rid of.

Thelonius:

Please reread our history. Our equipment was not stolen, nor were our scientists coerced. The majority of the original group was already working for TELEPATH, and as for those who weren't, one can hardly call payment coercion.

See above - We weren't the ones who broke that treaty in the first place. And while you continue to claim that our experiments are unethical, I notice that you offer no proof of this. ((Sidenote: Seriously, I really have no idea what you're talking about there. I did fluff there having been some less-than-savory experimentation before the current group took over, but unless Mistral has been continuing that, all of what TELEPATH has done so far in terms of research should be completely aboveboard.))

We like our privacy. And we would have been more than happy to enter into alliances with the nations of Asia, but the first time any of them contacted us was when you invaded.

On psionics, do you actually know the capabilities of our psions? They can, at best, get hazy impressions of someone's emotions if they're not also a psion, or send and receive messages if they are, and all of this must be done face-to-face. Hardly so dangerous, is it?

I really don’t recall talking to Hegemony that much. One time I remember, I referred them to Technorapture as possible research partner. Many nations haven’t been repudiating Hegemony’s actions and a lot have avoiding taking sides at all. Maybe you think about my talks with PSA? And even with them we did no economic or research projects.

From faction fluff:

Quote:
T.E.L.E.P.A.T.H. had, fortunately, managed to buy, con, or flat out steal the equipment they needed
2.

Quote:
Getting scientists and potential psionics, of course, was somewhat harder. But not too much - in times like those, when offered the chance to continue their research with guaranteed food and safety for them and their families, few turned it down.
The scientists could starve or they could join you. This can be seen as charity or as coercion. I admit I used the most negative interpretation here.

3.

Quote:
though some find their secrecy unnerving, and there are rumors of only semi-ethical, at best, experiments being conducted in some of their facilities.
Amurian Technocracy believed those rumors.

The part about unethical experiments was in your REP section of fluff, so it would be current, not past. If Soviet Directorate declares, that they have the right to retake Amur, since it was their old territory, I won’t be able to deny that.

5.

Quote:

It sounds like you haven’t broken the treaty with them, after they failed to aid you. I don’t know the circumstances, but is it possible you haven’t informed them about the attack and requested assistance?

I had a clear goal of establishing peace in Asia, by any means necessary. So I divided nations into those, I could influence or couldn’t expect any trouble from and those, that had to be eliminated. You were in no trouble section, although I admit there were several factors, that made me view you more negatively, then isolationists like Darvidia. Then after the turn with chemical weapons, I did a reassessment and decided you were in threat zone. I specifically checked a few things, including your lack of communications to any Asian nations. You had an advance warning, when I used REP to rally Asia against you. If you tried diplomacy then, maybe it would have worked, maybe not.

I suspected your psionics were weak (I think I intercepted a few messages back then, where you described them as such). It still represented a potential for mind control with sufficient investment, which is something my faction has very little tolerance for.

Hydrokinetics or Cyrokinetics may be more powerful, but they don't mess with free will, which is much more morally worrying.

Yeah its not the power of mind control that's worrying. It's the ethics.

That's why the charge of brainwashing was leveled at the Utopia Project leaders. Mind Control is right up there with nuking people.

razovor's game left me particularly bitter about the mind control. A leader of nation forced to commit a suicide, a nation of my friends brainwashed into joining a collective. I wonder who is doing it in this game?

I know I'm planing on making a hivemind, but just think about it. A nation of people who are in constant telepathic communication. Blockable, ya, but just think about the social ramifications! And don't worry, we're not inculding you in our plans for that

And on the whole Cyrokentics thing, ya it's not the powerful to YOU. But remeber where my guys live

Mars?

Frankly, mind control is just way, way more powerful than anything direct like that.

I'm now imagining some twisted version of Avatar the Last Airbender.

"Space battleships, nuclear attacks, war, mind control... My grandmother used to tell me of the old days. A time of peace..."

Dibs on the Soviet Directorate being Toph. Because it sounds like TOUGH!

PS: The Boulder demands more battleships.

As it is, Antarctica is a pretty unliveable place. If all the ice was melted, and the temperature rose a few degrees, it would probably be a lot easier to survive there.

For your own good, you should melt the ice caps.

I want Toph. You can be Boulder. We'd make a great team.

Alternatively I'll be Sokka, I guess, since you called dibs.

The Boulder is gonna win this, in a landslide.

He wasn't fully realized. He hadn't even mastered firebending and his earthbending wasn't up to master level either.

Eh, he had the Avatar State. Knowledge of all past Avatars, and all that jazz. Something about Cosmic Energy.

Though if I can pick someone from Legend of Korra, Amon was also kinda awesome. Even if he turned out not to be quite as smart as we thought he was.

Yeah, but if I remember correctly most of that fight was outside of the avatar state. Once he entered it he annihilated Ozai.

Plus, I feel strange affinity for her destroying anybody, who refuses to be her friend.
