Someone could pick her and the Kyoshi warriors, maybe.

Is that Bumi or Sparky Sparky Boom Man, or their unholy offspring from one too many slashfics? As for me, I think it's a tough choice, but..."No, my cabbages!"

This is the usual EoT reminder, as well as a reminder that deadline is one day earlier than usual.

A pretty busy week, while so much interesting stuff is happening in Americas and rest of the world. Hopefully, I won't miss to much stuff in my EoT.

I'm going to claim the Avatar. Not Aang, the Avatar. Because it's a near-omnipotent, vaguely sinister, thanks-to-reincarnation-immortal collection of the most powerful individuals throughout history. I think that describes the Hypereux League rather well, don't you?

Nope not at all. That sounds like the GM.

I'm sure there were a few delusional minor characters we could dig up to match to Hypereux though.

If I were going to be honest, I don't think there is a character in The Last Airbender that entirely matched up with Hypereux. The closest that I can think of is Koh, but I think that might freak people out a little too much.

And even with them we did no economic or research projects.

1.

From faction fluff:

2.

The scientists could starve or they could join you. This can be seen as charity or as coercion. I admit I used the most negative interpretation here.

3.

Amurian Technocracy believed those rumors.

The part about unethical experiments was in your REP section of fluff, so it would be current, not past. If Soviet Directorate declares, that they have the right to retake Amur, since it was their old territory, I won’t be able to deny that.

5.

It sounds like you haven’t broken the treaty with them, after they failed to aid you. I don’t know the circumstances, but is it possible you haven’t informed them about the attack and requested assistance?

6.

I had a clear goal of establishing peace in Asia, by any means necessary. So I divided nations into those, I could influence or couldn’t expect any trouble from and those, that had to be eliminated. You were in no trouble section, although I admit there were several factors, that made me view you more negatively, then isolationists like Darvidia. Then after the turn with chemical weapons, I did a reassessment and decided you were in threat zone. I specifically checked a few things, including your lack of communications to any Asian nations. You had an advance warning, when I used REP to rally Asia against you. If you tried diplomacy then, maybe it would have worked, maybe not.

I suspected your psionics were weak (I think I intercepted a few messages back then, where you described them as such). It still represented a potential for mind control with sufficient investment, which is something my faction has very little tolerance for.
Possibly. Weren't you part of that whole tech-sharing agreement DarkDM arranged before the game started, though?

1:

Oops. Seems I forgot that line...

Though I am somewhat curious as to how the Amurian Technocracy found out that the companies which set up TELEPATH did this, since I rather doubt all that many records about things like that survived the massive war.

2:

Not much to say on that, really. I can't exactly deny that they didn't have much choice in the matter, though in my defense, I wasn't the one who was responsible for them being in that situation in the first place.

3:

Ah. I can see what you mean now. I had intended for those to have been about the few years prior to the start of the game, and thus still current in Turn 1, not ongoing.

To the best of my knowledge, unless Mistral has been assuming that TELEPATH was still doing things of that nature, all of our research since the game started has been perfectly ethical, or at least no worse than everyone else.

If you'd like, perhaps Project Earth could do an investigation to confirm that?

5 ():

The attack was publicly posted in Mistral's event summary for Turn 1, so they were certainly aware of it.

As for requesting assistance, while we never asked them directly, I'm fairly sure we did put out a general request for help rebuilding which they ignored, and they certainly never offered to help.

6:

As far as I knew, you were doing that either because of my switching sides in the Hegemonic War, and were trying to keep the Hegemony from collapsing (or at least get me out of the war), or because you had some plan of your own (and had most likely been behind one of the earlier attacks). Whichever it was, as far as I was concerned, you were almost certainly going to keep going after me no matter what I did.

Had you contacted me earlier, I would have been more than happy to ally with you (and, though I doubt you're interested at this point, still would be), but I was too busy with other things to try to forge new alliances at that point (as for why I hadn't contacted any Asian nations in Turn 1, I was trying to get an idea of the political landscape before I started making agreements with people).

I’ve assumed everything in faction’s fluff is public knowledge.

Ah, yes, I think keeping Hegemony War going a little longer was a bonus, although I’d not attack only for that reason. So it was mostly due to a plan of my own. I wasn’t part of their technology sharing plans and my view of them was generally negative. I just didn't like the guys who were smashing them and getting all that loot either . I decided to stay out of Hegemony War, since I had my hands full in Asia and I made it a bit of gentlemanly agreement - I stay out of American Business, you don't mess with Asia.

I wasn't inclined to contact you myself in the first turns, since you were isolationists, and my policy at the start of the game was to leave them alone. If you contacted me, we could have become allies, depending on what sort of things you said. Lack of communication certainly kills in TW games. TELEPATH is in a way, a Technocracy, just as Amurian Technocracy. ''Heretic is somebody who shares almost all of your beliefs. Kill him''. At that time my faction saw yours as dangerous rival at best. If I knew more about your faction and saw our ideologies and long-term plans as compatible, it could have been possible, we’d become allies. Well, this is just one of what if scenarios now.

So I made a Total war version of the song "We are Young" by Fun

So here is Total War: We are Outgunned by Kiren of GITP Forums

It is based mostly on this game with fiction added in. I really just got it to sound good.

Spoiler

Edit: Any countries being nuked is not funny in real life, only in the context of this game would any comedic value be derived. Nuking in real life is not comedic in any way.

Not that hard, really.

I'd do "End of the World as We Know it", but there would be almost no lyrics to change.

TELEPATH's been destroyed, hm?

I'm actually somewhat hopeful we can win this now... I've managed to make some deals with people, and I should be in a fairly good defensive position.

Also, on something of a sidenote, despite what I said earlier in the OOC about TELEPATH having picked up Daedra worship from the Grim, they now mainly follow the Morrigna, with roughly equal numbers primarily praying to The Morrigan, Badb, or Macha. Use that as you wish; it's pretty much public information, though they don't exactly go around shoving it down people's throats.

I kinda like TELEPATH, to be honest. I don't think they'll get destroyed-- unfortunately, my warships tend to have a 2 turn construction time. Hopefully you can hold out a year? O_<

Well the Amurians first assault destroyed/took most of your land resources, which is kinda what I meant by destroyed. Also, we Australians won't let you be destroyed.

They take two turns to make? Pity, my not-warships only take one turn and cost 4 econ, I can put out two a turn and build the support fighters for them with leftover econ.

Too bad you went out of your way to screw me over. We might have been great allies. Instead, I'm sending you some cookies from Mongolia.

:P Out of my way? You send spies into my territory and have spent all game trying to wipe me out!

Though 4 Econ? That's it? Darn, your little ships are gonna crumple like pancakes. I may have invested too much to take out that one little dhingy of yours. Oh well!

Though cookies? I assume they're of the atomic kind?

Our spies tell us the Cookies were baked in an oven located in Chernobyl. The dough was mixed with uranium and it is full of chocolate-ticks. The ticks are from your Geiger counter.

I sent all of 6 espionage all game towards you, which failed. Hell, for several turns we were working towards the same thing, until I pulled out of public involvment in the Hegemony War and focused on espionage.

And my ships are actually better armed and armored than yours. The difference is, I don't bother with equiping them for interplanetary travel as well as some other design secrets.

And why would I nuke you? You would only play that to your advantage while most of your assets remain on Mars.

Fair point. Nuking me doesn't yield you much of a perk, especially since it would condone you to the sort of international reprisal that you wouldn't last five seconds in.

Though just who has the better space warship should prove interesting! The Soviets and their fancy interplanetary doom naughts, or Gaul and their Earth-limited tugboat o' guns...

Either way, I wish you the best of fun, and may this turn out to be excellently awesome a war!

War? I think you misunderstand. I already know I won't win, I don't have nearly the military to do so. But if I lose, I want to make sure I take someone down with me. And this is the second game where you've gone out of your way to screw me over.

It worked so well for the Utopia Project

I think you may want to reconsider. I mean, so far you haven't actually been hit by anything. If you slip out of the Soviet-Roman trap (which I just gave you an opening for) you're not in bad standing as far as I know.

Well, can't say I didn't suspect TELEPATH has being getting allies, with all those PMs flying in IC thread and certain respnses I got. Still, a bit to late to change things now, and dice have favoured me during this game. We'll see who rises and who falls in the end.

And I honestly have nothing against Australians, except for their support for TELEPATH. Awesome song.

It's... Probably too late at this point, sadly. EoT is in like... a couple hours, and he's already offline, likely asleep. I also have like.. 3 Casus Belli at this point (Attempted abduction, virus production, assassination of Cisleithanian Emperor). I went pretty lightly on him, all things considered, but I strongly suspect the words 'Meet the Russians head-on' are involved somewhere. XP

You mean to say that you lied about the scheduling, then? I want my people back if it's going to take a year. You told me you'd have the thing fully operational within six months.

The Admiral would have returned the smirk, nodding, "Your offer is extremely generous, in fact. With such impressive terms as [REDACTED] we could easily find ourselves subsidizing the majority of the cost. However, considering the dire need of such a vessel to secure your skies, we could rush the construction of your vessel for a modest bonus. We can guarantee it being operational within half a year-- fully combat capable and ready to engage any targets you desire. However, we would request for such a 'rush order' the [REDACTED]. Neither of which would, in my opinion, be just as effective in the situation you're in compared to a fully functional space battleship."

He smiled, "So, what do you say?"

Well, he said he'd TRY to push it forward. Again, up to this point they've only been built in 2-turn (year) increments. This turn is gonna be the first time someone ever tried to pop out one in a single turn, which is otherwise pretty cost prohibitive. If I can't make it in a turn, though, the Directorate will definitely toss those people back.

I think you may want to reconsider. I mean, so far you haven't actually been hit by anything. If you slip out of the Soviet-Roman trap (which I just gave you an opening for) you're not in bad standing as far as I know.
There exists no winning option for me at this point. My king is in check, and I don't like the other guy enough to bother getting him out. I'm not going to struggle through, dealing with the stupid debates that I can't win.

The game stopped being fun when playing nice got me stabbed in the back by Murska, after going through the trouble of getting people to help him. Second time in TW that being nice got me screwed over.

Ah. Fair enough.

Kiren, if you could send some money their way? Having that battleship would be quite nice.
