The only bad rolls appear if you roll between 1-10, but due to bonuses granted by gods chances are you will only get them if you have either Majorly pissed your god off and got a big penalty to your roll, or if you are petitioning a god with a non matching alingment (remember, if your alignment matches that of the god, you may re-roll, so if you roll a 4, you shrug your shoulders and roll again) other than that none of the blessings are negative unless viewed so by the character.
And yes, Verak is wrestling a howler, unfortunately not a choice I would normally make due to my manic need to keep my characters alive. However it would be massively uncharacteristic for Verak to run from a fight (especially whilst raging), and it seemed to be the only choice I had left bar fighting very defensively, which was again, out of character. Bleh I'm a sucker for roleplaying what can I say.

Because come on, using a Vicious weapon never backfires on anyone... and he had less health then you to begin with.

I like the Vicious weapon I thought it matched Verak's nature, reckless and painful I'll be honest, I don't plan on keeping it long I have other plans

By the way, Oracle, I think you're the last one for this round. Git'r'done!

Reason: oh dear god the typo's
I am shocked and appalled that nothing in the Howler entree mentions anything about the quills in grapple... lucky Verak.
And these are toned down Howlers, full fledge howlers would have a been a bit mean. Every time a quill hits, it's a DC 16 reflex or get -1 to attack, saves and skill checks. That's per quill and if they hit you, you get 1d4 quills to the face... how are they CR 3 again?
But its still not That Damn Crab. Everything's relative.

As soon as we are able to start making items (presumably on the ship) I'll make all of you a healing belt. One charge left for the day.

I suppose there is something to that, but rolling a 6 on a touch attack...

I'm not planning on making everything. TheDon graciously allowed everyone to take crafting feats as a bonus. I'm just saying it appears it is a priority.

I was under the impression TheDon revoked those feats?

No, I believe they are just "hidden" feats and we cannot access them yet. I don't think he said to completely remove them. I could be wrong.

Mattie_p is absolutely right in what he said. They're just hidden... for now.
Quote:
Can I instead have a ring of permanent true strike? :3
Unlikely :P I'll still be using the item creation guidelines, the ones that says a permanent true strike item costs the same price as a +20 on your sword :P
Hey, if nothing else, Verak would make an excellent 'Gator wrestler also, I may lose the grapple this round!

What?
To make a continuous item, the cost is...
Spell Level * Caster Level * 2000 - and then there's a little note that reads:

If the spell has a 24-hour duration or greater, divide the cost in half.
Hmmm, can't see myself making many magic items, maybe a Amulet of Mighty fists, but thats it really...

Silly Verak. Get Gauntlets of Stone. A permanent magic item worth 8000gp that increases your strength by 6 (*for the purpose of attack rolls, grapple checks, or breaking and crushing items) and gives you a natural slam attack. The slam does 1d6 too.

Could instead get Cutting Hand. It does't give you claws... but it DOES make the structure of your hand become as hard and sharp as a blade. Heck, the text reads as follows:
Your hand tingles as a smooth, metallic edge extrudes from the outside of your palm and curls up along your fingertips, forming a flexible, razor-sharp blade.
It has a +2 enhancement bonus as well. And damage is 1d6.
No other Lv1 Transmutation spell gives increase in damage in the Spell Compendium.
And of course, I doubt he'll let us have these things permanent. :P

I don't see why, it really isn't that expensive to make...
Well the XP tax is a little heavy, but still, not that bad.
Edit: Okay, not that it matters, but I only just realized that I have never written my +1 BAB into the character sheet. It would not have made any misses hits, but it still should have been there.

If you like grappling and claws, may I recommend Magic of Incarnum to you? There is plenty there to enhance grappling, natural weapons, etc.

Spell Level * Caster Level * 2000 - and then there's a little note that reads:
Allow me to refer you to This. The ring of true strikes gets called out specifically.
Quote:
So, what would our example ring of true strike be worth? Insight bonuses aren't included on Table 7-33, but a weapon bonus has a cost equal to the bonus squared x 2,000 gp, so a +20 weapon would cost 800,000 gp. One can argue that the ring isn't quite as good as a +20 weapon because it doesn't provide a damage bonus. That, however, ignores the very potent ability to negate most miss chances. Also, the ring's insight bonus works with any sort of attack the wearer makes. On top of all that, the insight bonus stacks with any enhancement bonus from a magic weapon the wearer might wield. Still, 800,000 gp is a lot of cash and the lack of a damage bonus is significant, so some price reduction is in order. A 50% reduction might be in order, or 400,000 gp for the ring.
That's what I mean by item creation guide lines. If you're creating an item that has an effect similar to something else (say ring of permanent barkskin instead of bracers of armors), it still costs the same price as a the original item.

Ding ding ding. Agreed. All custom items are subject to DM discretion anyway for pricing, for exactly this reason. I can't imagine a DM who would allow such an item for 8k.
