How about this a class called Dublo (10XP to whoever finds the reference). You will stop at nothing to accomplish the mission given to you.
Prerequisite : Two premeditated kills that further the mission you were given. Must be neutral. If you alignement shifts you can no longer take level in this class.

Everything else as Assassin.

And therefore, he'd have to plan out the kill of two different people to further this mission.

The way I see it, if you were Evil, you'd be an assassin, if you were good, you wouldn't be doing that to begin with.

There's actually a re-fluffed assassin available as a web-only prestige class. Designed as an April Fool's joke, but its legit. The Avenger, alignment, any non-chaotic.

Avengers are the mysterious sentinels of a nation-state, sworn to protect it no matter the cost. While chivalrous knights and doughty fighters take to the field of battle in defense of their homeland, avengers fight from the shadows striking down their targets swiftly and precisely. Avengers are a variant of the assassin prestige class from the DMG that does not require its members to be of evil alignment.

Yes, Petra is translating as soon as they speak. TheDon, if you wish, you may indicate as such (or, everyone will just read the spoiler for Petra). Spell lasts 40 minutes, so just stop translating when it runs out. Petra will use her pearl of power to recover the spell, so as to be able to cast it again if she needs to.

Seems to be off to a good start. I love how you managed to throw us the one opening challenge our party was unprepared for. Need to kill a lot of stuff? check.

Need to talk to a (potentially) alien race of halflings that take everything very seriously? Uhhhhhhh. Maybe once a day. For a little bit. And then we blow it.

What? I'm pretty sure that all casters have to rest for 8 hours to get back spells. And then an hour to decide on spells or 15 minutes to get all the spell slots (for ones who prepare and ones who spontaneous cast, respectively).

Actually, we all do in this case, because as soon as Petra thinks it is "morning" she will attempt to go for new spells, if necessary. So far the only one cast was the languages, which she recovered with the pearl of power. But I might want to mix up the selection for tomorrow...

Since he mentioned he was going to tag along with our friendly neighbourhood murderer, I'll just assume he tags along with this too.
