Don, to answer your earlier question, I have not taken them fishing lately. The past month has been real hectic between work and vacation.

We took the kids on a trip for 10 days, and then dropped the kids off with their grandparents for 2 weeks. One week with one set of grandparents, one week with the other set. I just picked them up 2 days ago. I might be able to take them this upcoming Saturday, we'll see.

Assuming he is using a normal binding of a vestige, it lasts 24 hours. This is found on page 8 of Tome of Magic.

Unfortunately, the rider should still be alive too. I'll keep trying to stay alive, though. And at worst, I'll get to play a halfling or another race that doesn't speak your language.

The rider is still alive but held for a total of 4 rounds, since your attack didn't go through. Rider gets a saving throw each round to break the hold, though. Better hope they roll badly.

No deaths. Petra will save you, at least for now. She burned a lot of spells though, hopefully we can rest soon and get more.
