Truthfully, I was probably as surprised as Lord Belkinstair when I was thinking about what Clearsight should do next, and it occurred to me to take his form.
I'll make sure Clearsight is good for a while.

woops, sorry guys, I think with those rolls I just made things a whole lot worse, I'm really glad I took out the part that involved possible defeaning whoever attacked me (if they tried) at the last second, hoping my AC would save me.
The move silently makes sense though, he wasn't trying specifically not to be sneaky just not to draw attention to himself.
@Malak'ai, how many people are we looking at surrounding us here? would it be possible to fight it out, or are we looking at a "you take the 5000 to the right, I'll take the 5000 to the left" sort of thing, and just hoping that Belkinstar gets killed in the fray? (please note I am not specifying whether I mean fake Belkinstar or real Belkinstar)

@Malowe: I could certainly understand that. Seriously, if this apology doesn't work, the rest of the party beating Raif Clearsight within an inch of his life non-lethally might be the only chance he has of escaping alive.
At least it will make a convincing story if we need to infiltrate the cult.

@Wordplay: Don't worry, you've been playing Raif perfectly so there is no way I'm going to penalise you for whats happened, it's exactly how I would expect a Cleric of Trickery to deal with some of the more snooty people in the world, I just didn't think he'd do it before the mission had even started .
@D_Man: I think I said somewhere that were about 100 people gathered there, but a lot of them left as soon as the real Belkenstair showed up, so including Belkenstair and his bodyguard of Knights there are only 27 still there, Belkenstair, 6 Knights, 20 men-at-arms (though only a few are actually carrying weapons.
Now, lets just work at getting you guys out of this little hiccup and on your way .

BTW way, I didn't make a second diplomacy check for Verossa's speech because I believe it's still covered by the first roll. At least, I sure hope it is.
Oh, and Verossa reluctance to get into an verbal altercation with her social superiors? Evaporated as soon as aforesaid superiors started giving illegal orders.

Ok, you guys are very lucky that my RL dice don't like me. You came >< that close to having your first combat, I rolled a nat 1 on Belkenstair's soldiers reaction checks and a 2 on his will save against Tahlruamy's spell.
EDIT: Kinda have to agree with D_Man with that one, unless of course you have a really, REALLY good reason for it.

Incidentally, "Eldritch" just means "otherworldly", "weird", "uncanny". Nothing specifically to do with demons. Solars are "Eldritch". Elves are "Eldritch".
