I am talking about the same section Leewei is, the 30 Artillery /w Ladders + 1 Leader section. This will also cut off all the siege weapons. So, that's two votes for dropping it on that section.
We can't fight them at least not without some serious choke points and cover, and even then it'd be a suicide fight. One does not simply fight 300 goblinoids with a party of 5; even if a lot of them are minions, that's still a lot more than we bargained for. I am willing to fire a flaming arrow, since the odds are good that I beat their artillery on initiative, but it would be a lot safer for me to use that surprise action to morph instead.

Ok, then if you are talking about section 5.... I'll just have you notice that this isnt an artilerry group..... that si why I was confusded as the only group with artillery and leaders is atthe back.
Oh, infantry, my mistake. It was the ladders I was aiming for, just misremembered who was carrying them. It didn't make much difference to me either way.

Bolerum may by willing (stupidly eager, in fact) to go out in a big blaze of glory, but he won't sacrifice his friends unless they're willing to do the same. In any case, he must keep Greenbane out of the goblins' clutches, so that isn't an option right now.
The ambush we might pull off would be more opportunistic. Killing some wolf riders and taking their mounts, for example.
Ok, then. so the actual plan is have Jieung up there, trigger the trap and shot some flaming arrow on the seige engine before flying away.
I only need to know what to other do (where they will be/wait).
Also, wheich direction will you flee?
Note that there is still strong winds so flying West = no trouble, east = athletic roll, north or south (up in the mountain) is ok as well as long as you dont try to go west is ok too.
just saw Leewei reply....So you leave Jieung alone and go hide to the north and see the result from afar, then see where you can hit again? Is that about it?
You know, I like the idea of hiding up on the cliff. We're in trouble if we're spotted here, but if we're careful, we can see exactly who is going where from on top. We've also hidden our tracks fairly well, so the goblins are very likely to assume that Jieung was the only one up here.
Ok timlaff. I'll keep you informed via you cell hone when your needed at worst.
Ok so you try to hide in the mountain... on the ridge or higher than that?
you could probably find some hole up the mountain side (Ashe can spot a few good prospect up there... about 100 feet or so up)
If you go for that.. does Jieung fly away and come back later or do he fly up in hope of drawing enemies to you?
Ok, I'd like to move this forward as you guys appear to have given you opinions on the matter at this point.
So the plan as I understand it is :
Everyone but Jieung climb up into the mountain (I assume you will ask Ung to come up as wel for his safety) and find some cavern to hide and observe the goblin army.
Jieung trigger the trap on section 5 and shoot a flamming arrow on one balista, then fly away and up so he dont get shot too much (I'd say west not to draw attention to his allies and when he is out of sight, fly up and come back to his allies cavern with stealth.
If that is ok, I'll apply it as soon as I get two more seal of approoval/votes for that (I know Timlall is ok with it).
Anyone who have objections or better ideas should speak up quickly.
Leewei : The PM I just sent you was written befroe I saw your reply IC .... and the funny thing is that it is even more valid and fit quite well in reply to the last post you just made
(1D20)[15] Jieung arrow. + his attack bonus it hit where he wanted.
The first did catch in the rope system. The goblins did put out the fire quickly, but they will have to take time and ressouces to repain the damage. Even the sturcture might have to be repaired from the fire.
Dekkah, did the war machine I hit with the fire arrows catch? I was aiming for the rearmost one, if that makes a difference.
Do you guys think we could take 90 goblins? Certainly more manageable than 300 .
I'm thinking we'd probably be able to kill one of the guardposts on our way out -- they're looking away from camp, and we'd have two of us appearing as orcs/goblins.
Actually, Monique could infiltrate and start running bad messages around if she's up for the task.
If we're doing an infiltration thing with Monique and Ung, Jieung could ride on one of their shoulders or in a pouch as a bird. That'd get three of us on the inside, with some decent bluff checks.

Just to reiterate:
-40 goblin infantry working below us.
-four lookout posts with 15 goblins each. (60 total)
-all wolf riders have apparently left.
Original troops:
Spoiler
30 Cavalry (on wolves)-- Departed from camp. 10 cavalry (on wolves)-- Departed from camp and 22 arttilery
32 Artilery
26 light infantry (with ladders) 30 infantry (with ladders), 1 clan leader Crushed under rocks.
3 War machines and 12 soldiers
3 War machines and 12 soldiers
3 War machines and 12 soldiers
1 war machine, 12 soldiers, 15 artillery
20 artilerry, 10 heavyly armored soldiers, 2 Clan leaders
20 heavly armored soldiers, 12 skirmishers (with a few ladders)
10 skimirshers, 1 Clan leader, 20 artillery.
It looks like there were roughly 170 survivors from the avalanche, of which about 150 are visible here and there. 100 are either working below, or else posted as guards. It isn't clear where the leadership is, nor how many ranged goblins are on the hillside.
We are apparently inside the perimeter of the lookout posts. We know the horn signals used by the enemy.
Armies march poorly on empty stomachs. We can try to locate their provision and possibly sabotage it -- punch holes in their waterskins, smash barrels, steal what we can carry, spread the rest for wild animals.
We can also look for targets of opportunity -- lone goblins and the like. Ashe and Jieung can scout. Maybe this would make a good skill challenge?
Hmm. Okay, looks like I did miscount. It looks like about 230 after the wolf riders depart. Any idea of where the leaders are and how many ranged units are on the hillside?
To correct your count, here is how the approximative 270 survivors splitted.
40 dig below.
60 stand guard around the dig site.
20 wolf riders search the plains north
the rest (approx 150) are going to the goblin camp at the fort.
So you were right in your first count (100 near you or so), except for the total surviving enemies.

We could have Jieung try to lure a group of goblins into ambush. If too many take off after him, he could instead lead them on a wild goose (well, sparrow) chase. Delaying and exhausting our enemy isn't as good as killing them, but it certainly helps Fort-du-Col.
