Also, shuffle over to the Magical Girl 2.0 thread if you get a chance. It's not all up yet - Selinia is in the process of adding - but we'll probably be switching over to it when the basics are all down if there are no major objections.
Also, I wish I could say where the material you're cribbing comes from. That aside, the next few posts are going to be interesting...
Edit: Holy ****! When did we hit a thousand replies?

I have no problem with it, though it may take a bit of time to figure out just how to rework Daina into the new rules. They are quite different after all. I'm not even sure which class would best represent her (though I get the feeling it would be champion or empath and most likely the former of the two).

Actually, it is rather amusing - Danghrest (and its view of Magical girls) are heavily based on Autochthonia. Alchemicals and their world have always been my absolute favorite WW product. The whole system of a functional, benevolent (if harsh) totalitarianism where the strong serve the weak is rather fascinating, I find.
I wonder if we can label 'heart world' magical girls like Umiko as Solars? She certainly seems to have the emotional break thing going...

Though to be fair, there aren't too many similarities between Exalts and (most) Magical Girls. Their respective powers just work too differently most of the time.
I'm still totally going to steal several Scriptures of the Maidens for this game, along with creating some of my own.
Well, Daina communicating in a psuedo verbal fashion again. Been a while since that happened. That took far longer than it should have to do.

You know, if you want to you can just make up song lyrics. Then again, that's purely your choice.
Also, fear the visions. They come for you ALL! (in time)

Should I get Umiko alone in that case? She's already had enough reminiscence for now I think
Nah. They'll come in their own time. Cymoril gets hers now because I already had it planned out most of the way.

Well, I'd be interested, though as I've never played Exalted nor read any of the books, my knowledge of it is limited to knowing it's akin to World of Darkness, some various things I've heard, and a bit I've picked up from reading some of Keychain of Creation. That said, some quick googling has revealed that my desire for such a game to create a character based entirely arround memory manipulation would seem to be most readily accomplished by either Lunar Exalted (changing moon caste), or Alchemical Exalted (Startmetal or Soulsteal caste). Though I'm not entirely sure what all would go into being either of those, or much else related to that (nor if there are any others who do it better).

I would require little to no rule knowledge, though some setting knowledge is obviously possible - but that can be gained by publically available material.
As for rules - i'd actually like to keep dice pools, damage etc. (all rolls in general) hidden, mostly because that makes it easier to reward stunts, apply hidden penalities and so on.
If required i can give the necessary context for character generation (it's just assigning points, nothing difficult) and help with charm-selection. Speaking of which, the offical Exalted-wiki has a description of what every charm does, without going into the specifics on how it works rule-wise - completely sufficient to pick your characters abilities.
If you take Heavenly Guardian Defense as an example, it gives the information what the charm does (perfect parry), how it is used (mote cost, reflexive, combo-ok etc.) and its prerequisite.
I'd aim for a small amount of players (say, three), which is why i am asking here first. I'm very open about the theme and tone of the campaign - everything from a few Outcaste Dragonbloods wandering the Bordermarches over Sidereal political intrigue up to an epic campaign against the Realm during the Reclamation is fine with me.
I have been sitting on an unused copy of the Exalted RPG for the better part of a year now without ever having played a game, I could certainly go for a campaign in that nifty stuff

Exalted smexalted. Heh, sure. I've got the time considering I'm still unable to walk for more than twenty/thirty minutes at a stretch. Also, getting out of the room may be an...interesting proposition for Cymoril

So, that's the official wiki? That's where I got my information on what methods of memory modification are in the game. That said, I'm interested, and the lack of high familiarity with the rules being needed is nice. As for abilities, not entirely sure what would be worth taking particularly for a character built around memory modification with only anything left over spent on combat. As for what the theme is, my lack of relevant knowledge gives me little to go off, but from what little I've picked up from various sources, I am as previously mentioned liking the idea of playing a character who alters memories of others, mainly to erase any knowledge of his own existence by making it so only those currently being interacted with for extended periods remember him. That said, abilities to blend in and deal with written records would also likely help with that idea.

Why do I have the unshakable feeling she found a bottle of 190 proof Everclear? Now she and anyone who partakes will wind up horribly drunk. Ah well, can't be helped.

*shrug* make it whatever you want, I'm not a drinker so I don't know what alcohol would be appropriate. I chose randomly so, hell, I considerr it your decision

Hmmm...now the question arises - would the Pentacles have given you access to alcohol. More importantly, does alcohol - as in, ethanol - exist as something added to drinks in their society. Because...it might or might not. Admittedly, even if it doesn't there will be something very similar. That may be a slight hallucinogen.
Also, couldn't help but noticing - and sorry for not bringing this up earlier - that Makoto made a comment about kids running the entire place. Amiya is very clearly in her late teens/early twenties. I'm assuming it was sarcasm though, so no biggie. Just...making sure

@Snowfire: Interesting, you say? Well, looking forward to it...i hope.
Well, i guess we will go for the standard "Scavenger Lands-based Wyld-hunt evading, personal-goal accomplishing band of wandering Exalts".
So everyone would need a nice open-ended goal - bringing down or ruling a specific nation, recovering first-age lore, ending slavery, revenge against a very powerful entity.
Go for something that is epic. It doesn't have to be something that can actually be accomplished - "protect Lookshy" is of course something that you will have to do for all eternity, since no protection is perfect and eternal. It doesn't have to be noble either.
@Ortwho: What you are describing really sounds like a Sidereal-Exalted.
In fact, by default people do NOT remember them - at least mortals don't. They might remember that a soldier came to town and slayed the bandit king, but they won't remember anything about the soldier in particular - details such as appearance, name, personality traits, age and even gender will be forgotten over time.
They can also craft specific destinies for themselves to wear - a Sidereal could craft the destiny of a nice old trader, and wear to to appear as such to everyone in town - but he could wear the destiny of an huge, dangerous soldier while travelling.
And of course they have tons of charms that aid in that - for example, there is a charm that makes it so that you have never been in a location retroactivey - say you are in a temple and notice some enemy looking for you - you use the charm, and suddenly no one remembers that you were there.
Whew. In my efforts to keep up posting with the Tome of Radiance, I'm falling behind in the game I hope to use it with.

So much interest! If you'll have me, I'd like to take it for a spin (though something will have to be done about combat - I can't imagine that 10-step monstrosity working well on on a forum).
Will take further comments over there though. Wooray at the thought, even still.

Makoto is being half-sarcastic, but she is from a world where early-twenties would be quite young for any real command position, and an officer in her teens would be essentially unheard of. Partially because of a 'work your way up' mentality in most sectors, and partly because Danghrest generally does not allow children to partake in military matters at all. On account of them being dangerous and psychologically traumatizing. That applies even to magical girls, albeit slightly more loosely - mahou shoujo are usually enrolled in mandatory state-sponsored training at 11, and doesn't graduate until 16. Even then, she can't run solo missions until 18, and isn't deemed to have the mental maturity for command of her peers until 25 (though exceptions have been made in rare cases). Field Marshal Marianne, the NUG's highest ranking magical girl and (on paper) the leader of the world's militant mahou shoujo, is in her late forties. Though as demonstrated by Precia, magical individuals tend to age extremely well.
Point being, age is relative, and to Makoto's cultural viewpoint, none of the party should be drinking, let alone fighting. Her view of young combatants is less like the Nanohaverse's, where combat duty is a sign of trust and an acceptable (even laudable) start to a career path, and more like... well, Earth's.

Gotcha. Also, is it a bad thing that I'm considering making whatever Umiko found effecting anyone who drinks it as a Rod of Wonder..?

Trace? Make a fortitude save for Umiko? Normally I'd roll it, but I'd like you to in this case.

Well, my most recent post, while terrible, does at least get Daina's actions across. May consider editing it at some point if I can figure out a better way to describe them.

Trace, Ortwho? Are you still interested in playing Exalted?
The relevant OOC-thread is over here.
For purpose of planning the campaign, i would very much like a rough idea of what kind of character you want to play - such as "Solar Exalt who wants to change Lookshys Fate", "Sidereal who wants to topple the Bronze Faction", "Slayer Caste Infernal who looks like an innocent young woman", "Full Moon Lunar who focuses on leading troops" or anything like that.
Amusingly, constructs are immune to anything requiring a fort save.

Bluh bluh, fall midterm exams. Exams upon exams. One more set over.
Terribly sorry. I feel like I'm apologizing for my absence as much as I'm actually posting, of late. Trying to recover some for tonight, catching up here and in the class thread.
Can hopefully post in the morning.
Snow, the PM I owe you is... reasonably close to being done, been chiseling away at it in spare minutes. Should have it to you tomorrow, but probably not in the morning.

Well, just thought I'd mention, that I may be somewhat more scarce on posts this month due to a friend convincing me it's a great idea to try taking part in NaNoWriMo. Having started a few days late, and even now not being sure what I'm writing, I've found myself devoting less time to other pursuits (though I'll endeavour to avoid having it impact the game too terribly). Also, as for the Exalted game, I'll try to get some work done on my character this weekend. I apologize for the delay.

@ Sel, Orwtho, As I have said previously, no problems.
Hope you did well on your exams, Sel. And I hope NaNoWriMo goes well for you Orwtho. As long as you're here, that's enough for me. We'll get this done, never fear

I could do that novel thing - my previous novels took 3-4 months but I was really lazy about them and a bit depressed. I've learned some dedication since then - or rather the kinks of my motivation, so could probably make a new story in a month... if Uni wasn't in full swing. If it was July instead of November, no problem, but who's able to set aside a month so late in the year? Seriously.
