I lost in the semifinals to a guy running a Volt Turn team, after missing a rock slide, toxic, and three focus blasts on his last pokemon
It was kinda worth it to see him get swept by a togekiss carrying hyper beam, though, when he played the other guy for first and second place.

So, is this Genesect promotion just for B2W2 or just for America? Or for B2W2 in America? (Having just tried on my WFC on White and not got anything.)
(I mean, I'm hoping to get B2 for my birthday at the end of this month, so I'm not a huge rush or anything, but it would be nice to know.)
It was technically my second attempt, because I had started it as a mono-bug run, then decided after I beat the first gym that I wanted to play it through for real before I did that. So, no, not soft resetting.

You could do that pretty solidly with Jirachi back in the day, too.
Also, um, checking Bulbapedia, I see that they're going to add / have already added the ability to make Game Pals into Dream Pals to Dream World. *Cough* WHAT A RADICAL IDEA.
I'm still slammed in real life, but I'll probably pick up a copy of whatever version 2 on Wednesday, activate the Genesect thing, and not get around to actually playing until next Wednesday.

Apparently my DS can connect to the internet, but my Pokemon games can't connect to server Wi-Fi. What the heck? Anyone else ever had this problem? I get full green on my connection and everything when I try, but then it stalls out and I get Error Code 61020. I've tried every 6 hours or so since I got Black 2 to no avail. I'm pretty sure it's an issue on my side but as I'm using campus wireless there's not much I can do about that.
I really want a Genesect. This sucks. :P Guess I'm going to Starbucks!

Well, I have the Plasma Genesect up for trading (just need to get it cloned), if you're interested.
Well got my starting team transferred from Black to Black 2 though I've now run into a small quandary. 1) Didn't take into account I'd feel bad for not using my starter from Black 2 (Snivy) and 2) at the time of assembling the team I didn't know about Genesect event. Currently my team stood as thus.

What I'm sorta debating is just going ahead and swapping out Oshawott out for Snivy and Beldum for Genesect. Thoughts? Currently working on checking HM learning.

Really? I mean, I can see where they're going with this, but it'd have a lot more impact if that sort of thing wasn't basically the entire plot for B/W. With time devoted to making it very very clear that there is no cruelty involved, at least for the player.

A) It's PETA. You expect logic from them?
B) PETA's stance is that the fighting in the game between Pokemon is a form of abuse
C) It's PETA.
On the one hand, they kind of have a point. On the other hand, these animals do not exist. They're 1's and 0's. Despite playing Pokemon (and having done so since Gen 1) I have a loving relationship with my cats, and have never done wrong by an animal. I still find stories of animal abuse despicable, with the worse cases causing me to feel physically ill. Pokemon has not desensitized me against animal abuse in the slightest.
That said, Pokemon B/W2? They really like to give you a bunch of crap at the start, huh? It was like: BAM pokemon, BAM pokedex, BAM shoes, BAM map, now GTFO already. What, you want us to hold your hand? Last iteration it took a good 40 minutes to chew through the intro, this time, what, 10, 15 minutes? With copious opportunities to save throughout? Pretty nice...
