That actually reminds me off a scene from the Ring of Fire series that the rebellion I'm basing the Rams off of is from. The "uptimers" (20th century Americans sent back to 1630's Germany) besiege a castle using a loud speaker system and modern music. Apparently modern (1800s-current) classical music, country, and metal would scare the crap out of someone in the 1600's.

So, are we still trying to take the Palace this turn, or has that project been set aside?
My preference is continue the move on the palace.

I've taken a few liberties with Esoteric Society's fluff. Asking forgiveness over permission, I hope it's not a problem.

People of Sav Altulas, I bring terrible news: my laptop bit the dust again. EoT resolving is once again delayed until I get it fixed--for good this time, I hope.
Technically yes, but due to me being unable to access my spreadsheets until my laptop is repaired I'm willing to be a bit lax with this particular deadline. I should have it fixed by Wednesday, according to the tech support guy I called.

call the guy who fixed it the first time. tell him to have it fixed by sunday or you will sick the people of sav altulus on him.

did the genius fix your laptop yet zemalac? every game i am in currently is either on a 2 week schedule or has been temporarilly stalled.
Despite my expectations, no. Lenovo tech support said they'd be sending a technician over to replace the motherboard sometime between 8 and 10, which gives them twenty-five minutes before I start yelling at people on the phone.
Edit: It seems there was some kind of mix-up in the support database and my original service request got cancelled. This could take a while to sort out. Sorry about the additional delays.

No problem, take your time sir.

Nearly two weeks after I was told it would take two to three days, my laptop is finally fixed. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to work on EoT resolving before the motherboard died, so there's still going to be some time as I work to catch up on things, but we should have a new turn this weekend.
On an unrelated subject, I am considering revising the way I've been handing technology research. It has become increasingly clear to me that the way it has been working up to now is completely ridiculous--the Technists Guild figured out how to make flintlock weapons in a matter of months, for example. I mean, yes, they probably had other models to reverse-engineer, but it still seems fast. This is not mentioning the fact that to do so I basically had to give them an additional stat that no one else had, which is (to my mind) a cumbersome way of handling it.
I'm thinking I may change the "Building crazy steampunk stuff" stat to Wealth, and make the Technological trait (and other traits of that nature) allow a faction to do so far more efficiently/research stuff that hasn't been invented yet by someone elsewhere. This change would only majorly affect the Technists Guild, and would probably see them gain a lot of stat points in other areas, since quite a few of their original statpoints went towards Technological.
This makes me sad Technology used to be avilable to those who earned it, and gave them a stat feel as well as theme feel. If ye must allow anyone to make advanced technology, give everyone Technology 0/1. Then, as a main stat, sure, everyone could build it, but it's those who have it as their focus that have the high end tech, and not just the Wel based ones.
Also, I don't mind having lower stats, as the tech is what my guys are all about. We do not wage war (mil), we do not mass produce and sell our inventions (wel), we do not spy on others (ESP), and we have little intrest in magic. Bring out the tech priests, and let the engines rumble.

Well, the idea behind my proposed change is that most of the tech you've been researching already exists somewhere in the world (Verdan, Illarym Empire, etc). WEL represents someone buying designs and spending money to make an already proven design, while your Technological trait allows you to do the same thing but improve on what already exists (to a degree). This game is not really about high technology, after all--it's intentionally set in a renaissance-era world with quite a few steampunk elements, and I have no desire to advance the tech level beyond that.
On the other hand, maybe I shouldn't fix what isn't broken, if you think it's working out all right. It just complicates things for me when other players want to research stuff and I'm not sure what to tell them.
Didn't you make getting tech a Wel project in the recruitment thread? With the option of starting with it at the expense of your other stats? Wel would still help in the set up, and you did cover it in recruitment.

Hmm. This is true, I suppose.
Ya know what, I'm just going to wing it. Back to your regularly-scheduled breakdown of law and order in the city of Sav Altulas.
