Indeed...if its magical and you can beat the caster level check
The true horror of the brokenness that is iron heart surge is that it stomps all varieties of effects and without needing to beat a caster level check... but i was joking and do not intend to abuse such things (as all the RAW arguments in the world have little influence on GM ruling).
I do have the power though, so it may be worth familiarising yourself with it so as to avoid the "it does what?" moment
Question for the searching at the back of the cave, are you using any other light source, or just Heilan's Crystal of Illumination (20ft good sight and 20ft dim illlumination)
If it becomes necessary, Rado will cast light (with the effect doubled by his radiance ability). He has 3 spells of that kind prepared, that should be enough.

No crystal right now, my sword is in extradimensional storage (with my armour)
(I didn't want to alert stuff to our presence by clanking up to them)
I contemplated using dragonsight for this. But it seems like people have got it covered at the moment.
I'll post tomorrow.

Zombie Invasion
I lived through the Invasion of the Zombies and all I got was this lousy signature thingie made by a lazy narrator. Go me! Nexus of the Future
The thing that gets me about the item is that it takes 1 full round action to unspool 50', so 10 full rounds to unspool the full 500', it also takes 1 full round to wind it back in for each 50'.
As written there is no penalty for cutting the rope, wherever you cut it anything not attached to the spool simply vanishes and that amount can be unspooled further if desired. So IMO the circumstances in which you would wind it back in (10 full round actions) would be quite rare, the most frequent way to pack the rope up would be to simply cut the rope (one full round action at most).
Yet the description is written as if the assumption is that you will wind the rope back in...

I imagine if you had people hanging from it climbing up, you'd need to wait or spool it in.
I'd imagine that spooling it in while people are climbing up it would be impossible, so you would have to wait for them to finish climbing before winding in the rope (at which point you can cut it).
If the action of spooling the rope in is capable of lifting the people climbing the rope then the item becomes much better than previously thought, as a player I might enjoy it but I wouldn't allow it if I were GMing.
Perhaps a houserule limiting the amount of rope generatable each day would explain it, if you only had 1000' of rope each day you wouldn't cut it unless you were in a real hurry.
I have the suspicious feeling that four people (besides the DM) are too little to be posting here.
And yes, spiders actually do give me the creeps.

Anoush is under the assumption that Joan is still in shock with the recent passing of her boy toy, while Rado is in quiet meditation seeking guidance and spiritual fortitude to overcome the worsening circumstances.
Yea, Vass suspects that it's just that, a noble's promise, but Heilan might surprise him.

My action was completely defensive, no aggression was involved.
Question for you Tigris: do I count as my own ally for Leading the charge benefits? (I'm not even interested in the cheese of claiming to be my own ally for white raven tactics) Its completely understandable if you rule that I don't.
I've just drawn a weapon, gotten the cleric, and told Yssa to get up and ready. Just preparatory action.
Vass is twitchy and paranoid, and wolves are scary even when they aren't bigger than you.

I can't believe I failed to notice a new page until now.
How silly can I be?

Anoush was actively guarding the entrance when this wolf suddenly appears. Maybe he should have made a more "scared as hell" reaction than "meh, go explain your self and talk" reaction as was posted.

I dunno, it hasn't come into the cave mouth, just approached so that it is just visible through the sleet... I don't think that fear is necessary, especially for a seasoned veteran.

So does this mean we should man up and ignore the weather and push on? If so i guess we'll be leading the horses as we definitely shouldn't ride in the previously described conditions.
