Hey guys,
What are you planning on playing for this game?
Timlaff, any general idea of the setting would be nice.
I think I'll try my hand at the warden. I'll create my character sometime this week.
2 - Make a basic background. You can look at the world map to help you do so.
3 - After I received this information, I will create an history of your alliance, reason of your separation, and tell you individually what you did during the last five years.
4- And we will begin upon your return to the Westfalls inn.
After looking at all my emails, I noticed that Tata would like to give the Warden a shot.
I will then change my aim for something more pirate like! <Like that never happens, >
I was thinking along the line of this :
Background :
Spoiler
Born the son of a dirt poor fisherman, Liam spent most of his childhood upon a rickity boat with his father, trying to catch enough fish to feed his large family. With each passing years, the drought made it more and more difficult for the fishes to come back to the inner sea near Westfall to fray.
The year of his 16th birthday, the Dryness was particularly bad and the the access to the inner sea was cut from the ocean. Therefore, the fishing was terrible and the father was forced to send some of his children in orphanage has he was not able to provide enough food for them all.
Liam decided then and there that he would help his father provide for his family and would one day own a ship big enough to sail the ocean. He would bring his father to fish on the ocean, hopefully to catch the big fishes and become rich.
He said his farewell to his father, packed his belonging, which were a fishing rod, and a straw hat and left for the capital in order to amass enough money to care for his family.
On his way, he was waylaid by some bandits, and if it wasn't for the help of some nice peoples (other pc), he would have been left for dead. Seeing that as a sign that his cause was just, he followed them to the capital.
There he helped the others doing all kinds of jobs and participated in their adventures. Having gutted fish for all his life, he was particularly skilled with a knife, and learned how to apply his knowledge to battle.
One day, after a particularly lucrative job, Liam decided it was time to go back home, to tend to his father. He had amassed enough money to by them a house near the ocean, and enough lumber to build a ship.
That is when he left his new friends with a promise to meet in 5 years time in Westfall.
Liam sits on the bow of his boat, thinking. You can see him frown and scratch at a patch of unshaved beard on his right cheek.
Then, with a resolute shake of the head, he stand and states : "It is decided. I have been surrounded by blue all my life and I am not yet tired of it, it has to be my favorite color"
Then, Liam walks away, proud to be part of the colorful speaker club.
You can prepare too, a character status for the forum.
Here's one of mine as an example. Personalize it at your convenience.

Born in the small town of Tylopia, N/A spent his younger years like any other childs. Being the son of two hunters of the town, it was expected that he'd become an hunter as well. He was trained as soon as he was old enough in his family trade.
While he did enjoy the hunt, N/A decided early on that he would not be a simple hunter : he wanted more. It is not that his parents trade was not decent, but he wanted to be known, famous like the heroes in the bards stories. So when he became of age, he left the town to earn fame on his own.
He gave himself a lot of personnal goals, from the smallest thing like exploring climbing the highest mountain or to the hardest ones like earning a noble title. In the ends, after a few near death experience, N/A quickly understood that he could not acheive his goals, at least not all of them, alone. Around that time, he met Windiamwho was also erring alone and they started to gather a few people for adventure.
After a few years of adventuring and gaining some knowledge and strenghts, a few among the group mentionned the need to atetnd some personnal buisness. N/A himself had a few of his own goals that would not really interest the others so the group decided to split up and each of us go their way and meet again 5 years later at the Westfall inn.
N/A did a few of his personnal goals and travelled all around the continent to learn about it, see new places and simply horn his scout reflex. Now the time had come for him to return to Westfall and see how his other friends fared out.
NOTE : N/A isnt my real charactrer name... I'll check out how I named him later.
I add a brief description of Tornado Valley in the first post of the IC Thread, and the first post of the OCC Thread as well. I also added the Tornado Valley map in the first post in the IC Thread

[roll]#d#[/roll]Diplays cumulative results. 1d6 gives the results of 1 six-sided die, for example.
(1d6)[1]gives you (1d6)[4]
[rollv]#d#[/rollv]Displays individual dice results, then cumulative.
(3d6)[4][3][1](8)gives you (3d6)[5][3][5](13)
[roll]#d#+X[/roll]Displays the cumulative results, with the added modifier (X) totalled into it.
(3d6+5)[16] gives you (3d6+5)[20]
[roll]#d#-X[/roll]Displays the cumulative results, with the added modifier (X) subtracted from it.
(3d6-5)[5] gives you (3d6-5)[8]
[roll]#d#b#[/roll]Diplays the cumulative results of the best of the dice (4d6b3, for example, would give cumulative results of the best 3 dice of 4 6-sided dice).
(4d6b3)[9] gives you (4d6b3)[16]
[rollv]#d#b#[/rollv]DOES NOT WORK! It only gives the cumulative result of all the dice, not the best # of dice. You have to do the math yourself if you want to see the best-of results, or remove the v from the roller.
[roll]#d#b#+X[/roll]DOES NOT WORK! It gets ignored.
Negatives results are possible if you give a modifier on the end that can cause a negative. The dice themselves cannot give you negative numbers, even if you were to type in d-40 or something. [roll]1d-40[/roll] will do nothing.
d0 always give you 1. 6d0 gives you 6, and so on.
Spaces are NOT your friend in the code. They will result in the whole lot being ignored.
[roll]3 d 6 + 4[/roll]
