I posted in Team Maaya for Takuya/Manabu. Sorry things are so random and confusing, but I'm working to salvage it. For now, it'll just be a two person team until I hear back from people I'm waiting on--or enough time passes that I just outright replace them.
Decided to post backstory here and see if it sounds spiffy enough.
Spoiler
It was many years ago that the sickly girl that would be Amon found her way into being adopted by the Yamana family, a childless couple at the time who have since granted her a younger sister and contorl much of Sogakure's supplies, including raw materials essential to its infrastructure. As such, away from the field, she leads a fairly comfortable, if not luxurious life. Amon Yamana enrolled in ninja training and graduated into field work a couple of years back. However, she is largely sheltered, rarely going on any particularly dangeous missions, and little work comes her way at all; she's well aware that her parents seem to revel in pulling their strings as the village's upper class to keep her out of trouble. It's the same reason they had her trained as a medic-nin, as it brings a potential to fulfill her duties somewhere far, far away form the field and an excuse to have large stretches of time spent studying safe techniques.
A few months into her first team, when her parents were starting to unwind and let Amon be a little more adventurous, she and her group hit quite the snag as a C class mission got very out of hand. To be precise, her jounin and a teammate died and she sustained some rather nasty wounds, barely escaping; when she returned to the village, she spent far longer in the hospital than was necessary for her wounds to heal, just to keep her as far away form the business as a ninja as possible. Even after being released she was kept under a much closer surveillance, and her parents have done their best to see to her being more sheltered than ever. They have often deliberately compromised her place as a ninja, barring her from the Chunin eexams and making sure she spends too little time in any one division to move up in the world through some other means. Of course, trying to return someone who has experienced adventure to a sheltered existence they were already growing sick of holds no promise, and sure enough, Amon has long yearned for some escape. For all taht she loves her parents, she often wishes to get back out their in the field, to face what smacked her down before and return on her path, safety being of no virtue to such a free soul.
She has spent much of her life studying the ways of technologies and engineering, even in terms of metaphysics; she is a naturally incredibly bright child who spent most of her pre-ninja years obsessing over the feat that is Sogakure's propulsion as a village in the clouds, and the sky rail, among other things. She is a bit of an inventor, making odd devices in her downtime, and tinkering with random objects at her liesure. Even with her medical training, which she has largely done well at despite taking minimal interest in her studies, she often views the human body as just another machine. In recent weeks, while sneaking out and looking for ways to amuse herself, Amon has happened a sensei of her very own - Kruzai of the Bleeding Nails, known master puppeteer and retired ninja. He took quite a shine to her, seeing her mechanical perspective as holding quite a bit of promise, and has trained her in the ways of puppetry as of late. She has shown speed at picking up the craft. She's spent every night sneaking off to receive training; while she takes well to puppetry, more so she finds acceptance and praise reward enough, that and the rush of defying her parent's wishes.
Let it never be said that Amon has anything but total love for her parents; but she is a lively youth and can hardly be contained. They won't want her doing anything too risky, but as urged by her master, has finally convinced her parents to levy their restraint of her, to let her get back in the game, as it were; she will once agian be joining a team, with the perhaps false understanding of merely serving as the team medic, claiming such a thing would be good experience. Her parents hope she is calmed one day, clearly not wanting to lose their eldest daughter, and hoping for perhaps a good job for her as a doctor - itself a compromise of her using her ninja training at all as an out of combat medic-nin. For the longest time, Amon showed promise as simply taking over the Yamana's business and living a quiet, safe life as an office dwelling engineer, but she has spent the last two years cooped up, wanting nothing more than to journey again, her desire for excitement eating away at her very soul, to the point it is clear that now, at a peak of her teen year's virility especially, keeping her from at least taking one last good swing at being a ninja directly would do nothing but egg her on to more dangerous heights yet.
She is set to enroll in her new team post haste. Her master has, as he put it, 'pulled some strings' to see to it that she won't be as monitored in her new team as her previous ones, though of course there is only so much she can cover up. Her master has promised once she has proved her worth as puppeteer and as a ninja, he will grant her a puppet of her own, his first puppet from back in the day, and teach her to create her own.
Amon is happy go lucky, blonde, and incredibly quick with her hands - better at changing a fan belt than most people are at running. She's also an academic marvel, and a promising master of many non-physical techniques including some more obscure ninjutsu, and has a well used affinity for lightning.

^couple of last touches; one or two feats to assign, a few loose skill points, a couple of techniques to finalise, and some obscure equipment to look up including prosphetics. If I fins the rules for it, I'd say she's missing a foot, instead replaced by a chakra-controlled prosphetic.
It is so hot ere it's cutting my IQ in half - I had to force every word of teh above character synopsis, so deal with it... ugh, scotland doesn't have hot weather, it just has rain and heat waves. And, new for this year, the occassional lightning.

Hey, can I join the IC tomorrow? I work better with a deadline. Also any luck on those prosphetics rules? So far I've only envisioned her missing a foot and a couple of fingers that are replaced by puppet-like parts, so I don't know if it's even major enough to warrant any special rules.

So far I've got an idea that minor parts(fingers, feet, etc) aren't large enough for an impact. Limbs reduce your current chakra pool by 1 so long as they're attached, but provide a 1/- DR(at the low end of materials) as you interpose them between yourself and attackers(absorbing a maximum of 100 damage at the low end of materials before breaking). You can always chose to not interpose them.
This increases quickly with different materials, as do costs naturally.
I have 3 feats to spend. I know it'll take a bit of fudging, but could I take reverse doctor? I know if you look at the prerequisites, I wouldn't be able to take it under normal circumstances until next level, but I figured I'd try and not be completely useless in melee. 1d4+3 damage at a +6 attack bonus is hardly game breaking, all things considered. That reminds me, I changed my classes around a couple of times, I'll probably need to recalculate my defence bonuses.
The limbs thing sounds good. But so far it's just a couple of fingers and a foot, probably with mass equivalent to the original lost limbs by means of specially crafted funinjutsu-laced wood and what have you (nothing but the best for our little Amon, the Yamanas would argue), so nothing major enough to warrant rules, I think. Not until i lose entire arm from the elbow down, you know?
So Amon will be joining the group and introduced as the team medic. I think someone could do with patching up anyway. I think I'll make a blood contract with snakes later. Do I meet the prereqs? I'll go look that up.

I don't think the bit about needing to be evil is in there, but DM ruling is the final word on any given topic. Although I think Anko could summon snakes fine. Or was that just a filler complete non-canon episode? Quite possibly, the first series managed to find some way to meander for 100 episodes after Sasuke left, clearly wasting time until the next series started, so you know; anything is possible. Well, if it means that much to me, I could always go evil! Which I won't. Mad scientists are more fun to be played on the good team, juxtaposition and all that, so even if Amon reaches some crazy point of puppet obsession, she'll still be good-aligned or thereabouts.
And in the case of the elbow down, well, there's a lot of important movement in thatpart of the arm, you know? I'd say it's a good 10% of body mass, depending on things, so probably significant enough to warrant a ruling on.
Some of the Genjutsu are kind of same-y or require more ranks than I have when first gaining access to their level, so that's quite annoying. Well, I have Ino's technique, a lightning bolt to blast, chakra threads, a decent illusion technique and a few medical ninja techniques to start, and still a couple to assign, on top of what i start with.

The thing with elbow-down prosthetics is that they'd have to be firmly attached to the elbow with bolts or other things drilled straight into the bone, or else they'd be sheared off in combat very quickly. But a prosthetic full limb with a ball in the shoulder socket won't be taken off nearly as easily whilst still much less painful to implant.
And as far as genjutsu being same-y: Yes, they are, but a lot of them have different targets and save-DCs.
What languages are there in this setting? I have a couple of skill points I could assign to languages if no one else wants to
Techniques are finalised, as are skills, basically. Just need to buy some equipment decide on my last feat and I'm good to go. I was going to have some poison to use at people, a med kit and a weapon. I think I';m basically ready to start though. Now, where IS that IC?

A third line? I'm not sure I catch your meaning, though I did eat a really big pizza and it's well known that wheat makes me incredibly groggy in even considerably smaller quantifies so maybe my ability to read between the lines of basic grammar is just goen for the rest of the evening. But yeah, just give me an opening and say when and I'll pop in. I have a decent idea for a character description that I can post myself. Do medical ninjas wear any special uniform in Sogakure? I'll assume we have headbands anyway. Can I get mine in bandana form? Though I remember seeing Ino wear it like a belt and Shikamaru on his arm, and thinking of both of them as fairly stylish uses.
Took Nin Weapons Poficiency so i could use a blowgun, now to get some nasty poisons. I'm pretty sure my Mind Transfer technique doesn't cause me ability damage, though I'll have to look it up, so combining that with drinking my own poisons could be a decent combat tactics and, in a dark comedy sort of way, a right laugh.
So do I just post now or should I wait for a setup form you?

My assumption is that ZN will just add a third name line for Amon. Don't hold me to this though.
We have a winner.

A) No. It'd just make them targets.
B) Yes. Your headband may be worn in any way you feel like. I've seen collars, leg-bands, belt-buckles, armbands, sashes, and one chest medallion.
Also, I posted for you.

Made my first IC post. Explored the situation at home a bit to get into character a bit more, then headed straight to the grounds. Eager to meet the other characters!
I think I missed something calculatin starting wealth. I got +1 from occupation, but I'm pretty sure my level contributes too. I considered hunting down a 'rish parents' feat but thought better of it. Amon wouldn't sink to relying on her parents when doing ninja business, you know?

Starting wealth is 2d4 at 1st level, plus 1 for having any ranks in Profession, then another +1 for your occupation. Every level, you roll a profession check(or wisdom check) against a DC of your current wealth to determine how much extra wealth you make. If you beat the DC: You get +1 to Wealth. For every 5 over the DC, you get an additional +1 to Wealth. In addition, you gain a +1 per level per 5 ranks in Profession you have.
I assumed Amon had Profession(Rich Parents), but Profession(Ninja) is just as valid.
