Okay, got a post up where Amon gets herself into mischief. I hope no consequence too bad occurs while I'm asleep. Which I intend to be for the next 8 hours. Bye then!

Wow, I feel like my team has gotten nothing done. Which, it hasn't.
I feel the same way, but real life concerns have kept things from moving along. Which is sad, because I've thought about Team Maaya's story more than Cybele's. Which is to say that I've thought about it at all.
I'm working on designing this cool Genjutsu for Amon to invent. The premise is it gives the target the delusion they've become one of her puppets, causing them to act as such; not moving under their own power, only when I use my chakra threads to guide them. I'm just trying to work out the particulars and at what level the technique would be balanced to. Thoughts?

It sounds very similar to Shinranshin no Jutsu, which is Rank: 11 (S-Class). You can use that jutsu as a base and see how it goes, but I can't see it ever falling under Rank 10.

Hmm... I was thinking of having two levels to it, or perhaps making the technique vary a little if you manage to attain masteries with it. The initial technique, I'm thinking, causes the targets body to, in their eyes, turn into a puppet, leaving them helpless. This could perhaps be accomplished through dexterity damage that vanishes if the illusion is dispelled. At the most basic level of the technique, the target retains consciousness and is aware of surroundings but can only act when someone uses chakra threads to direct their movements. In this case, unlike the mentioned super betrayal technique, they wouldn't be able to use any ninjutsu, instead acting like a regular puppet that the puppeteer would have to concentrate on directing. In this way, I would have to give up actions as usual for puppetry and they would use my dexterity score for movement, etc. In other words, in effect the most basic form of the technique causes an opponent to drop out of the fight for the duration and gives me an unmodified puppet to use, as in one that perhaps except for its weapon and strength score, si probably less useful to me than the puppets I'll have on hand - it would mostly be about the aesthetics of the move, you know? Turning someone into a puppet would shake just about anyone up.
More advanced versions of the technique would perhaps allow the target the full range of their abilities, instead making them think they are my willing slaves, but I'm getting ahead of myself. So far I'd balance the technique's basic form as... I would say about Chuunin level really. What do you say, Zn, thoughts? I won't be learning it until i take a level or two of Puppeteer anyway, which won't be until we get back to town and my other sensei gives me a puppet as a prize for a job well done

I don't have a problem with either version of the technique, but they''d have to have the same caveat as a lot of other auto-lose genjutsu: If the target is damaged, then the technique ends.
I think it'd also require you to learn the human puppetry technique as well in order to manipulate people.
For the record, Betrayal Technique requires constant Concentration as well, risking losing the jutsu when attacked. Still, I hear your points. Why not try basing it on Kage Mane no Jutsu, then?

For using the human puppetry techniques, I think that would apply to the second form of the technique that allows you to use the full range of your target's abilities. In the case of the first form of the technique that gives the delusion of being a puppet, regular chakra threads and puppetry should be sufficient. Afte rall, they're not really being animated by the strings, merely compelled to think that they are.
So far for drawbacks I'm thinking if they're damaged while they are 'inanimate' as in not actively controlled by a puppeteer, they recieve another will save with a bonus equal to the damage taken to shake free fo the effect. Or, at your option, simply have the illusion dispalled. However in the case of them being used as a puppet and they are damaged, the animator instead can concentrate to make them continue acting as if a combat puppet, probably against the same concentration check DC as they would if they themselves were damaged. Or opposed will saves. I don't know, either way a puppet that becomes useless after one hit isn't a veyr good puppet, so I figured a proficient puppeteer would know how to exert their will to maintain the illusion.
..
By the way on the topic of the IC, we should probably get going before someone decks someone else.

Ah, ZN, you are on. What's the plan of attack then? Are we heading out on your next post or do we go through a round of asking everyone if they're ready? I think we're all set to go now, so you can just launch into the 'and then we walked north for a few hours and saw [insert scenery here]' bit. I think I'll loosen up a bit more once we get this show on the road, rather than playing Amon like she's pressed for time.

QUICK EVERYONE POST! I'm going to bed in an hour, if you don't post now I'll never get off your tits about it. If we somehow don't get going until after I'm asleep, assume Amon goes wherever the group goes.
Also I'm surprised her speech to Hinami never beckoned any sort of reaction. Did she actually manage to put her in her place or are you just waiting to post in one go?
SUPER EDIT: Well played, zeone, posting at the exact same time IC as I do OOC. A WORTHY OPPONENT!

Waiting to post in one go. Basically Hinami sees Amon as a child, and views her outburst as an adult would view a child trying to talk about world politics.
I wasn't quite clear, how old is Hinami? I know she's older than Yosuke, but so is Amon. Call an exact age OOC knowledge all you wnat, but if she's anywhere near her teens getting it within a year or two estimate should be easy enough for standing next to her, and if she's obviously older than Amon, like in her 20s or something, I should notice that too.
Eh, Amon ain't gonna let her boy get dissed up in dis hood, know what I'm sayin', G? Ha, ebonics... I'm so lame. Anyway, yeah, Amon speaks professionally enough, I think. I was considering switching her ranks in bluff to diplomacy to relfect that. Is anyone here trained in diplomacy? I'm assuming not. Anyway, my point was she doesn't like people talking to her boss that way, as should be ABUNDANTLY clear.
