Yeah, I intended to be in bed a half hour ago. My eyes hurt, I can't see straight. But I needed to take a couple of minutes out of my time to go sign up for kickstarter. I'm now a backer for Gamers 3, isn't that lovely? I'm helping creative folk circumvent the hollywood system. That, and I get a copy of the DVD once it's out, so that's good. But I do get off topic when I'm exhausted, so off to bed for me. There's a reasonably god chance I'll be woken in 5 hours to wish my little brother a good first day at his new school, and I'm awful at getting back to sleep, so may as well cherish this short rest.

Team Cybele: You're free to wander, but Kokasou isn't nearly as large as one suburb within Soragakure. Now's a good time to RP amongst yourselves, seek out one of the NPCs, or whatever else you want to do. You'll be able to get eight hours of training during the night as well, but remember that you don't recover naturally while under the effects of a soldier pill.
You know how were were limited to how many techniques we could learn per level relative to the maximum rank we could attain? Is that only for character creation or will I not be able to teach the group many techniques of levels they've already filled up? By my count, I only have one level 3 slot left untaught.

Sweet, so I could train to learn more rank 5 echniques if given the time? So does Houshi suffer from Rock Lee syndrome or does he just have few ranks in technique skills? I can't see his character sheet, after all. I figured I'd try and teach the other characters some basic you'll-be-glad-to-have-them-when-the-time-comes techniques. Water Strider and Genjutsu Kai are my only Chakra Control techniques they won't have already. Though Yousuke does have a lot of ranks in Ninjutsu, sof of the techniques that don't require some sort oif affinity or specialisation I can offer...

Huh. I thought I had more. Actually i guess Yosuke did invest a FEW ranks in Genjutsu, so i could probably teach him at least my sleep technique. I only have 1 rank in taijutsu and no strength bonus so there's only so many techniques I could hope to be proficient with until I get at least a few more ranks. Of course Cybele, as suggested, could always pass along a nifty technique to the group if it suited her fancy. We do have enough time to train in a new technique, right?

Cybele provides a flat +2 Learn bonus if you ask her to help you, but otherwise won't teach you anything.
Oh, what a Scrooge. In that case, once Amon is a sexy, powerful Jounin in her own right, she won't be teaching HER any moves either. Well, at least that means I can still learn moves Cybele wouldn't necessarily know. I was hoping to pick up at least one more Raiton move before we get into any real fighting.
Just thinking up a way to get Amon and Cybele to be more friendly. Being the only other female on a team apparently filled with gynophobic preteens is one advantage, at least. Don't suppose you'd mind posting out of your usual pace (waiting for everyone to post before progressing) to have Amon and Cybele talk at a decent pace, would you?
It was mentioned that Amon has a little sister, which I think was your idea. Do you have anything planned for her? I was going to make a little character summary for her, basically off the top of my head, if you didn't have anything.

Have you not been reading my post since you joined? Yes, he does suffer from CCD and he's a swordsman. Therefore, he is of no use to you in either of your endeavors to learn or teach. Wait, I remember saying you had swordcane. Okay, he could teach something but it wouldn't be useful. It's just a rank 1 tech.
Ah, so my guess was right. Does CCD also bar him from learning Taijutsu though? I'm sure he could learn some sort of technique then. Could I see his character sheet? It would be easer to get on the same page if I could.
I've been working through the existing IC. I mostly just read the stuff on page 2, after your first mission, to catch myself up quickly, and I've been reading through the first page a little more slowly and at my leisure over tea breaks. Still though Amon wouldn't know that when she proposed the idea, would she?
Ah, ninja edited! Okay then, what technique did you have in mind? I'll do my best to learn it - you never know when such things may come in useful. If nothing else I'm sure Amon would appreciate the exercise - she hasn't been in a real fight or training session in over a year.

Yousuke's element is wind but he does have a pretty good Ninjutsu learn score. I'm not sure what Yousuke could teach you but he has two sword techniques moves he's unwilling to part with.
Well, it's not like teaching them would cause him to forget his moves. Plus Amon probably wouldn't be able t pick them up very easily, so it's a good chance to show her up and boost his ego WHILE picking up one of her cool techniques she's been saving for a rainy day. What'll it be, Bad? You can see my character sheet. I have dispel illusion, sleep, mind blank, water strider, chakra threads, exploding body substitute and mind transfer. And some techniques it would be impractical for you to learn.
I was thinking of PMing you to hold a conversation Amon and Yosuke would have en route, what do you say? Or would you rather keep it in the thread? Either way, Amon's opening statement would be something akin to:
[a couple of miels of walking] "So, you're name is Yousuke, I heard. What do you do then?" *smiles*

Here's Amon's little sister...
Korra Yamana, aged 8 (and a half, she'll specify between her missing front teeth) - DM only. But I omitted a thing in case you player's are really curious. Mostly there's just a footnote concerning Yousuke, so I thought I'd maintain the suspense of it all (!)

Amon's little sister and most devout fan, thinking of Amon as the coolest person ever, and not jsut because she can walk on water. She is loyal and stalwart, always trying to be by her sister's side, and brings out the best in Amon due to her strongly protective big sister instincts. To the end of following Amon's footsteps, Korra has enrolled in a ninja school, trying her damndest to get by. Her parents allow her now as they treat ninja-hood at that age as something akin to scouts, though they keep a close eye on her; unbeknownst to Korra or Amon, the teacher of Korra's class is an old family friend of the Yamanas who is tasked to make sure she never gets herself in too much harm, and basically hold her back if necessary until she loses interest in ninja-hood. The key to the Yamana's plan is the fact that she only does what she does to mimic Amon, so as soon as Amon abandons these silly dreams or Korra eventually thinks better of it, they trust Korra will lose sight of the whole thing too. She has yet to know any real strife, but she stuck it out rather well in the last year with Amon off duty, studying hard despite her role model being out of the field. She's reached a sort of competitive age and a few months back made Amon the promise to become a ninja even if Amon couldn't be; this being because accepting the destiny of her elders is in her very nature, as the (second?) heir to the Yamana dynasty and the fact that Amon never stopped wanting to have adventures, so she now has a sort of rivalry with her sister.
Poor Korra doesn't look much like her sister, dying the hell out of her naturally bushy black-brown hair to make it blonde on a regular basis just to pass as her sister on a regular basis. Her interests include sweets (sharing a hang out spot with Yousuke, I'd wager), comic books and music (she plays the violin). She doesn't have that many friends, being a bit tunnel sighted and living in the shadow of her parents and her sister whether she's aware of it or not, but those few she does have she trusts as much as any stereotypical majou shojo.

Hey, can my former, dead sensei be someone important? Like, maybe someone Cybele knows if only due to shared rank? I never gave him/her a name or any traits beyond 'taught Amon, is 99.9% certainty dead'. Also it's assumed from the edited OP that everything concerning the death and the general disaster of Amon's last team was covered up in some way by her parents, so it's possible even the other Jounin don't know exactly what become of him/her. Either way, I have a semi-realistic way of going about it; I haven't been prying into things concerning Cybele, because I never read teh first page of the IC or anything, so I only vaguely remember her mentioning a name at some point. The method is such; give me a name for Amon's former sensei and I'll just use it and find out through use if the name means anything. I have a 90% ready to go post, if you give me the name of her sensei I'll work it in before I post and see how it goes.

Lucky, stupid Yousuke, Amon's been trying to buddy up to her all day and he gets to be friendly with her just because they share an elemental affinity. Next thing you know they'll be married and Amon will continue to not have positive female role models outside her immediate family.
