[Nexus Alt-Plot] Nothing and Nightmares {Beans & C'nor}

[C'nor]

Talina smiles at Nycca, going to pull on a clean set of robes.

"Do you want to get changed before we head down?"

[Beans]

She nods, slipping on fresh clothes before heading down!

[C'nor]

Talina will probably end up putting letters in envelopes, applying stamps, and similar things, assuming that I'm understanding what they're doing correctly.

[Beans]

Nycca helps as well; soon they have a bunch of letters!

[C'nor]

Once all of the letters are ready, she goes to gather them all up and head to the nearest equivalent of a post office.

[Beans]

Days later, they'll receive a letter!

[C'nor]

Talina (unless it's addressed to someone else) goes to read it, looking curious, but also rather nervous.

[Beans]

It's from Vo!

Talina
I'll be coming tonight.
I owe it to them.
Expect me.

[C'nor]

Talina grins happily, and goes to hug whoever's nearest, probably Lenia, since she's the one who started this whole thing.

[Beans]

Lenia giggles and hugs back!
((You can, incidentally, make up a character for one of the girls and play 'em if you want.))

[C'nor]

((Hm. I might, actually; I have someone half-made floating around in my head who could work for that.))

Talina will probably be celebrating for a bit longer before she calms down.

[Beans]

((Go for it then!))
The girls all look quite excited!

[C'nor]

Talina finally flops down onto a couch, grining broadly.

Meanwhile, Naera, who's a too-thin girl with bone-white shoulder-length hair, matching skin, marked with several half-healed black bruises, and red eyes like those of cat, but with a human pupil, is sitting off in a corner with a pair of cheap headphones, connected to a small MP3 player, in her ears.

[Beans]

Nycca comes over and smiles at her, miming an offer to come sit on the couch with them.

[C'nor]

Naera shrugs, pulling the headphones out of her ears, and silently complies, moving with an eerie grace that seems more appropriate for a killer or a hunter.

She also doesn't seem to think about whether or not she actually wants to join them, instead simply doing exactly that as soon as Nycca offers, as though she interpreted it as an order she needs to obey.

[Beans]

Nycca puts an arm and wing around her.
Sweetie, we really need to get a little more fat into your diet. You're even scrawnier than me... are you cold?

[C'nor]

Naera thinks about it for a moment, then blinks in surprise, and nods.

"It would appear that I am, in fact, cold. My apologies."

[Beans]

Nycca nestles closer, glancing at the skinnier (hardly believable!) girl's clothes.
Not your fault at all, dear... any way I can help?

[C'nor]

Naera is wearing white jeans and a thin shortsleeved white t-shirt.

"I should not have allowed my awareness to lapse to that extent. And your body heat or a blanket should suffice."

[Beans]

She snuggles close, arm and wing around the pale girl.
You hungry at all? I can make you something...

[C'nor]

Naera shrugs.

"If you want to, I would not be averse to eating. Otherwise, I can sustain myself without doing so until tomorrow."

Nycca may be aware that Naera wasn't at breakfast or lunch today, though admittedly, it is possible that she ate at other times.

[Beans]

She nods and will make her something fairly quick, like a quesadilla or two.
Nycca comes back with the food, sitting next to her and putting her wing around her again.
Talk like that is why you're so thin; we'd better make sure you eat at least three meals a day!

[C'nor]

Naera smiles somewhat, which, as are most other expressions, is rare for her, eating the food carefully, though quickly.

"A fully trained Hunterkin should be capable of going without food or water for up to a day without noticeable detraction from their performance, if necessary."
Of course, she leaves out that that's intended to apply to ones in good physical condition.

[Beans]

I'm sure you'll be able to do that when you're not skeletally thin, dear. Have you been sleeping well?

[C'nor]

Naera considers the question for a moment.

"Not particularly, even when fully attempting to."

[Beans]

You might sleep better if you were with Talina and I... want to try it?

[C'nor]

"If you are willing to attempt the experiment, I am as well."

Nycca may note that, despite the near-emotionless quality of Naera's voice, and her lack of expression, the rest of her body language indicates she would be quite happy to do so.

[Beans]

She looks over at Talina with a smile.

[C'nor]

Talina returns her smile, coming over.

Naera simply curls up against Nycca, shivering slightly now that she's aware of being cold.

[Beans]

She smiles.
I'll get you a hoodie and some of my legwarmers, okay?
Ooh, and Dr. Vo will be coming soon, isn't that gonna be nice?
