Ongoing Games (In-Character)Play-by-post games are going on in this forum as we speak (well, read). All threads on this board are actual games, so please, only post on a thread if you are a player of that game.
"You need to look like someone else... wish I could do that. Can whip up something for meself though. And, might ask Capone. Little bastard hears everything."
Matt quickly glaces around.
"Also, the agent thing is a good idea. I can always whip up a disguise, and you can say it's a partner ship. I'm good at the chemicals, which is true, and your a better talker. And if worse comes to worse, well, I think I have some stuff back at the shop."
Power restored for christmass. I'm back!
"Well, our proposed questions are going to have to be quite specific. If we just ask something like "Hey, we're looking for a slender, girlish halfling hooker last known of being carried out a window by an unknown assailant" we'll get false positives all over the city. But we need to know about a gotch-eyed man you rides around in a red and black coach, we need to get more information as to what might have happened at Silver Allies, and it may lead no-where, but I'm curious about this Alyx Two-hands and where she's been taken, because she's a new vector and finding her might not involve a head-on clash with Silver Allie. Have I missed anything?"
"I keep meaning to go and lighten some pockets, but I never seem to get around to it. We do indeed need more information. With my robes, and a spell, I can probably avoid being excessively noticeable. So, when should we leave, and I think we probably want to get the urchins information beforehand, as well as having everyone nearby if the plan fails."
"We shouldn't split up too much, but this will require different jobs and different skills. Matt--Grim--Sally, I'll take some of that gold, with thanks. I'll get out there and get the streets to work as much as I'm able. Also, I'll see what I can do about getting a room rented near Silver Allies, so we have a more convenient base of operations. I'd appreciate if somebody innocent-looking would come with me and watch my back as I watch theirs. If any of us are attacked or find themselves stalked, we avoid engaging the enemy and get back here. In any case, let's meet back here at noon."
((Gather information checks require 1d4+1 hours. It's still early in the morning, so noon seems a decent time))
Taking out a small pouch, protected by a insane serires of knots, he gives Infernaes the 50gp he always keeps on him.
"I'll see you in a bit. Heres hoping he dosen't make me wrestle a bear again."
The Pub (The Drunken Larvitar. Small sign saying, Matts Potions and explosives)
Matt almost hesitates before going into the bar. Capone probobly knows something. However, the last time he tried asking capone for information? Two hours of pointless, insane and degrading tasks before he was told anything. Well, lets see what It'll be this time.
Capone might know something, however, you ever see family guy? Everytime Peter needs Losis dads help, he makes him do hummilliating/painful things first. Why? It amuses him.
Time roll; (1d4+1)
Gather information (1d20-2)
Plus, anything Capone might make me do...
Power restored for christmass. I'm back!
Two hours of forcing you to listen to his crack-voice recitation of interminable gnomish battle-poetry later, Capone actually gets to the point "...Anonymous Looking people with falchions sound like Xanian clerics. Xan Yae's a funny god for anyone to worship, but she's a decent choice for a female who lives by her wits, so to speak. They move their temple every week, but they're currently quartered above Gripthorn's Armaments Emporium on The Street Of Multiple Abrasions. And youdidn't hear that from me.
"The gotch-eyed man with the coach and livery sounds like a younger member of the Gallbright family I've heard of. Lucian Gallbright. Don't know the whole story. Got money and connections, but was last month kicked out of the family house after somthing he did with a...relative. Could all be smoke and mist, of course."
The warforged just follows whomever is most likely to need his area of expertise--which is mostly killing things. He'd already expressed his opinion on the party's chosen course of action, and had nothing more to say on the matter.
Inferes walks out of the House and approaches the nearest group of disgustingly lovable, smelly urchins. "I have silver, maybe some gold if you're good. Want to make themselves useful?"
Bluff:(1d20+9) co-opting the urchins
Gather Information:(1d20) She'll try
Random roll to see want luck the urchin gambit has:(1d20)
That's interesting. She might have actually found out the useful stuff herself. Total cost of the urchins: [roll]1d20[/roll] Silvers. With the promise of a gold if they come up with anything useful.
Post what you're doing and make the checks you need. If you do nothing, presumably you're back at Esse's helping the hookers with their martial technique.
Assuming no objections, Luke will avail himself of any disguise kit available at Esseandra's establishment. Assuming objections, he'll either pay for it or buy one on the way, he has the spare GP.
This done he redoes his hair, adds some lines and some grey to make himself look a little older than his years, adds or removes a tabard to more closely match St Cuthbert iconography, and joins the group headed to Silver Allie's establishment, crossbow slung so he can't be described as barging in with weapons drawn.
+2 if using a by-the-book Disguise Kit
+5 if "older but within the same age category, and worshipping the wrong god" counts as "minor details only". I don't think it does, but DM's call.
Inferes is obviously aware of being followed (especially considering they're slowed by armour and she's not, so they wind up awkwardly half running to keep up with her), but she seems to ignore them until four similarly attired men appear around a corner a block ahead of her.
And then she slows, seems to be muttering (casting Mage Armour. Anyone with a buff who's watching, feel free) and then turns on the two men behind her with a blast of pyschedelic colour from her left hand.
(Colour Spray. Let's hope like hell they don't make their saves against her rather poor DC)
Will save (1d20+1)
Will save (1d20+1)
The rest of you are in charge range, the four ahead will take a turn running to get into combat.
One of the men following Inferes was knocked unconscious by the spell, the other is uneffected.
Lillith, seeing Inferes move to eliminate her followers, casts hypnotism on the one still standing.
guards will save gets a +2 vs a dc of 16. either way, he gets -2 to attack and ac

Might as well make the Hide check at the -20 penalty:(1d20-12)
If that actually succeeds, Sneak Attack Damage:(1d6)
