The IC thread will be up soon, in the meantime everybody choose colors and post your character sheets. If you have any questions, now would be a good time. I also want to look over everyones sheets before we start to make sure there aren't any major problems.
Also, my question about street cred still stands, any idea how much you should have? I'm debating to say either just ignore the who street cred system or give you something absurd like 50 which would basically mean you would get bonus dice on many interaction tests equal to your charisma. That of course would mean more is expected of you as well of course.
Finally to steal some bits from Destrude which sound like good ideas, let me quote:
Quote:
When you roll for something in the IC thread, add any bonuses you know you're entitled to (smartlinks, aiming, ect). If you should be facing a penalty that you don't already know about (chameleon coating's -4 to perception, for example), then I'll subtract that many dice results from your roll from right to left.
To simplify things, feel free to ask if you should be facing any penalties for a particular roll (loud noises while Percepting in a nightclub), and I'll tell you before you roll.
Also, please keep a note in your IC posts as to the current status of your PAN (hidden, active, passive), your initiative and health penalties if in combat, and any vision/audio enhancements you have active at the time.

@Street Cred: I like the basic idea of the system, but the implementation of it is a bit questionable. My suggestion would be not to link it directly to gained Karma, but have it as another kind of special reward for runner behaviour, as an direct opposite for notoriety. In that case a starting value of 0 would be good then as only ingame actions would provide a benefit.
I don't know how we should handle street cred just yet. As far as James, it really doesn't matter whether he has it or not - a 2 charisma really limits the effectiveness of a 50 street cred.
I'll think about it today and if anything hits me, I'll let you know.
Edit: I might do a little bit of re-arranging on my sheet to squeeze a sleep regulator in. It seems like a really good idea.
Anyways - I had a thought. With multiple high-rating fake sins and liscences, keeping pirated programs up to date really wouldn't be that hard.
Why you say? Keep one SIN with the liscences legitimate, with continual updates from the corporations, and when you get them, take the comm offline, crack the program updates and use to your hearts content.
It's probably about the same amount of work, but a lot less expensive. Just a thought.

Re: Help me Shadowrunners, you're my only hope. OOC
Well, I think that's everyone other than Destrude, right? I imagine he might be a little busy getting the other thread up off the ground, so maybe we can do a little brainstorming and figure out how we know one another?
James is going to be pretty non-descript. He tries his best to blend into the background until it's time for the fun to start.
Partially it's a defense mechanism - the enemy that underestimates you is the enemy you have already defeated, and partially because he's paranoid - keeping people at arms length is safe.
Any given run that requires technical finesse is one he'd be able to assist on, and he prides himself on not leaving a trace.
He might be a little over-prepared - if there is such a thing in their line of work.

This sounds like the best suggestions. Unless there are any objections, Street Cred is no longer tied to Karma but rather it is something awarded by me (and fairly rarely). However, I will say that since you are all experienced runners already you will start with a Street Cred of 1.
Oh, and unless anybody minds, it would be easier if you guys know each other. Details are up to you, but I figure every Shadowrunner worth their salt has the numbers of some associates he can call if he needs help for a run.

I'm assuming that the synthetic lower legs could come with the uppers as a package. All cyber limbs are Modular, and the raptors give +2 Str for melee, +2 on Gymnastics tests including to dodge, and modify ground speed by 1.5. Combined with Celerity, this puts me at a Walk/Run of 20/50 base. Screw energy drinks, I can keep up with cars!
Dose of P4MO - 2000
Jazz x6 - 450
Nova coke x5 - 50
K-10 - 900
Middle lifestyle, 1 month - 5000
Sweet mother of gods, that's a lot of gear. Bet you a dime I still get caught without something I need mid-run.
Short version: I'm throwing 17 dice for the entire Influence group, 18 to 22 for Running and Gymnastics tests (including Gymnastics Dodge), can fire in melee with no penalty, have a DV of 10 for my Raptor spurs with a Reach of 2, and a base Run/Walk of 20/50. I have no idea how I came up with this guy, but he's 110% awesome.
Backstory to be posted tonight, though it has been decided that he and James share some history.
Edit: 50 meters in a 3 second combat round works out to 37 miles per hour. Mind you, that's without rolling for additional speed via Running skill.
Re: Help me Shadowrunners, you're my only hope. OOC
If it helps, it would probably be reasonable to assume many shadowrunners have had work done on their vehicles or weapons at my shop (DB's Redmond Garage, "the best body shop in the slums!" By appointment only!)

Considering my vehicle list and mods, I'm probably one of your best customers!
Re: Help me Shadowrunners, you're my only hope. OOC
well, The Lady owns no weapons, no vehicles and has incompetence(Pilot Groundcraft), so I dont really see her beeing a customer of yours.
She is also very new in town, so I think it would actually fit best if we havent met yet and we do the first meeting before the first run.
@Destrude: I must say that Im more than a little suprised that The Lady turns out to be only the 2nd best Face in the group. On the other hand, your char looks like a really nice target for her ... "special needs". Prepare to recieve advances in that direction
Re: Help me Shadowrunners, you're my only hope. OOC
@lonewolf1210 - Maybe I throw a few more dice, but access to Influence gives you the nuclear option in a negotiation.
Also, if the Lady is eyeing Legs she'd better like 'em dark, gangly, and half metal, lol. Also, your Lady is checking out my Legs, Couldn't have planned those shadow names better if I'd tried.

Plus Alter Memory. Also a very strong option in many social situations.

OK I am still hear and haven't forgot about you guys. My sister just arrived to visit and we got a new dog from the shelter so it has been a busy day. I hope to have the IC thread up soon.

Re: Help me Shadowrunners, you're my only hope. OOC
TBH, I've been focused on the other game, and just waiting on the others to react over here. Guess I didn't realize how long it had been, or I would have asked the same question. :(
Anyway, I should be more active this week. Getting my sleep apnea device installed tomorrow.

Good to hear. I've been watching the other game, it looks awesome so far.
Um…not to say this game isn't awesome…fragging with the Azzie's on their own turf? Doesn't get much better than that!
Re: Help me Shadowrunners, you're my only hope. OOC
Having looked at the most recent posts of the other game got me thinking, and I have decided to edit post #10. Merry Christmas. I didn't want to make it seem like I was lowballing you.
