Well post as much as you can and I'll try to respond as soon as possible. Which reminds me, tomorrow I might not be able to post till much later in the day. I have two finals and I should have spent my weekend studying, but things were getting interesting. It looks like Tuesday or Wednesday Day 2 will begin. Hopefully.

@Leahn Novash: Also, if you don't scan the opponent soon, you won't be able to record it's data. I gave you the Spinarak as a freebie because I assumed Chuck would scan them. But in this battle, you actually have to say that you do that.

that's because the GM disagrees with you on what your hp IS.

You ARE calculating pokemon hp as [level + (hp stat x 3)], right?

oh my god, you know what I just realized? This whole time Leahn's been rolling the damage wrong. You haven't been adding Firemane's attack stat of 11! This battle could have been finished on the first hit! Okay, I'll write up a post.

New Rule: Sleep heals HP, but how much?

If a Pokemon gets 8 hours of consecutive sleep, they regain 2*HP Stat.
If a PC gets 8 hours of consecutive sleep, they regain 2*CON Stat.

Status Afflictions are NOT healed, except for Sleep.

Any thoughts?

For trainers, that will mean that non-con focused people will end up healing REALLY slowly. For pokemon, that should work fine.

remember that for pokemon, their total hp is (hp stat)x3 + (pokemon lvl)x1

However, for trainers, that formula is (Level + Con)x4

This means that even high-level pokemon that don't focus on hp will have most of their hp coming from their hp stat, making it a good scale for their overall hp.

However, for trainers, this could make it be a HUGE disparity between certain trainer builds. A lvl 20 capture specialist with 6 con (not unreasonable) is looking at a total of 92 hp and only healing 12 a night. Meanwhile, a lvl 20 psychic with a 22 con is staring at a total of 168 hp that heals at 44 a night. The low-hp guy take over twice as long to heal all his hp as the guy with over twice his hp. If your goal is to have it scale with overall hp in general, it's not going to.

In short, a trainer's con doesn't really necessarily match his hp very well. Why not just have it be a set % of hp instead if your goal is for it to scale with a trainer's hp? 25% works nicely as it will always be a whole number and matches what someone who uses hp for class features is likely to have if you scale off of con.

Of course, if you mean to raise the important of the con stat for those who don't need it for class features beyond the already existing hp disparity, then you probably don't need to play with it and your system works fine.

I'd like to point out that I'm just trying to give you feedback to help you make it work like you want. I'm fine with the system as-is, just wanted to point something out.

Well, that was very well thought out. Okay, this is why I ask for thoughts, I like that idea better.

Pokemon gain 2*HP Stat per 8 hours of rest (non-use, inside their ball)
PCs gain 25% per 8 hours of sleep.

If you sleep in a substandard setting, such as a box in an alley, you will regain only 12.5% health and obtain a -1 to all Stat Modifiers until you get a good sleep.

If you elect to not sleep, you gain no health and obtain the -1 Stat Modifiers until you do sleep.

This is just meant to be an incentive to get that decent sleep. Sleeping in a tent counts as decent.

Day 2 is fast approaching. I've had a talk with Demonia and we should be ready to get the rest of you up and moving before tomorrow night. Maybe even tonight if we're lucky.

Some things about sleeping: It's up to you when you wake up, but to evade the bonus, 8 hours is the minimum. I've added earliest wake up times here:

Chuck: 4:00 AM
Dave: 5:00 AM
Collin: 5:30 AM
Blake: 6:30 AM

Collin and Dave have been invited to have breakfast with Blake at his apartment Hotel at 8:00 AM.

And of course, thank you all for being patient. Especially when the DM makes stupid mistakes

so are we following the [25 mon seen]=[1 level up] rule? and when taking a feat do we need to meet the pre reqs before or soon after the level up(like if you want a feet the needs an item that costs money like pokeball repair)?

Yes for level up rules. As for Pre-Req rules, if you need an item then you can take the feat but can't use it without the item. Makes sense?
