Chuck:
You run across the office, grab the fire extinguisher and run back into the kitchen. You notice that there is significantly less smoke than there was when you entered. Firemane strikes the bug again, knocking it unconscious. The others see this as a threat and they both attempt to burn her, both attempts doing nothing.
Chuck runs around the corner and readies the extinguisher to put out the fires, commanding Firemane. "Very good, Firemane. They're going down. Keep doing this. Get the next one. We need to clear a path for the cooks inside the freezer to run away."
Blake:
Andrew shakes his head and says, "No, nothing needed here." You're about to leave when a message comes into your head, Hey, Blake, right? Got a trainer here says he wants to warm up before challenging Joan. You wanna take him?
Chuck:
You're able to put out the closest fire easily while Firemane hits the next fire bug hard. It returns with a line of stringy webbing that slows Firemane down a bit. The other one tries spitting flames at her again, but it has no effect.

Blake: Uhm, you gotta use a dark type. Representing the gym and all. Good luck. You enter the battle room and find a confident teenager lightly tossing a ball up and down. He looks at your medical coat with a sneer and says, "Oh, this will be too easy. One on one, no items, no trainer interference. No burrowing and no flying over 3m. These rules sound good to you?"

Blake:
"^200 is fine," he says as he releases a purple wheel with central yellow eyes. You release Celeste and the elegant Umbreon paws at the ground, ready to battle. Celeste is faster.

Blake begins scanning the opposing Pokemon with his P-Gear, while calling, "Alright, Celeste, get in close and hit him with Sand Attack!" The Umbreon nods, rushing forward and swiping its paw across the ground when it gets close, sending a spray of dirt and sand at the round creature.
Spoiler
Celeste: Sand-Attack v. Enemy - AC: (1d20)[7] v. 2 + SPD Evasion, opponent's accuracy checks are -1 for the remainder of the encounter on hit.
Blake:
The cloud of sand strikes the opponent and one of it's eyes seems to blink a lot more. It rolls forward and strikes Celeste with it's two antenna, which were hiding twin needles. One misses completely, but the other does 2 Damage.

Nodding as he sees the opponent's attack barely graze Celeste, Blake says, "Right, now! Tackle it!" Celeste throws herself at the wheel Pokemon at her companion's call.
Spoiler
Celeste: Tackle - AC: (1d20)[7] v. 3 + Phys Evasion, (2d8+14)[20] Normal Damage plus (2d8+6)[17] on Crit
Blake:
Celeste steps back and then launches a full body tackle into the purple wheel. The move hits hard with a solid thud of an impact. As it rights itself, the other pokemon spins over Celeste, stabbing in with a hidden tail as it passes her. Celeste takes 8 damage.

Blake:
Celeste's fur seems to harden and realign itself, protecting weak spots. Celeste has Battle Armor, she is now Immune to critical hits. But her attack bounces off the enemy's shell, hardly hitting it at all. In response, the purple pokemon spins around and emits a screech that lowers Celeste's defenses. From across the room, even Blake can feel the hair on his arms rise up in alarm.

"Don't let it get to you, Celeste! Hit it again!" Blake calls out as Celeste shakes her head, clearing it from the aftereffects of the sonic attack before circling and charging the Pokemon once more.
Spoiler
Celeste: Tackle - AC: (1d20)[5] v 3 + Phys Evasion, (2d8+14)[23] Normal Damage
Blake:
Celeste leaps at the Whirlpede, as your dex informs you, and hits hard. The Whirlpede starts spinning and once again bowls over the Umbreon, doing 17 damage this time.

Blake:
Celeste once again rams the opponent, and a resounding thud echos again. In retaliation the poisonous wheel stabs at Celeste again with it's twin needles, and again one misses wildly. The other, however, deals 6 damage.

Mika continues to explore the forest. Although she knows that there are pokemon hiding all around her, she enjoys the the calm stillness of the forest, relieved to be away from the craziness at the Gym.
Blake:
Celeste hits again, not doing as much damage as normal. In return the Whirlpede spins at her again, dealing 10 damage to the battered dark type. Each pokemon seems to be reaching the end of their strength, this next move could decide it.
Mika:
You and Keahi follow Solara through the woods, the Houndour looking very pleased with herself. The quiet and calm of nature slowly fades to a more eerily quiet stillness. The sun is unable to break through the thick foliage and in the darkness ahead you see a grey figure emerge from a tree. Not the foliage above, but through the actual bark of the tree.

"Come on, girl..." Blake says, quietly. "Hold it together just a bit longer, and take that bug down!" Celeste pushes herself forward, throwing herself at the insect Pokemon once more.
Spoiler
Celeste: Tackle - AC: (1d20)[16] v. 3 + Phys Evasion, (2d8+14)[27] Normal Damage
Blake:
A thrashing tackle from Celeste knocks the bug over, and it doesn't bother getting up again. "Damn. That was a close one," the teen says, his confidence replaced with respect. "I guess I'm not actually ready to challenge Joan just yet, eh? Here's the money, I'll be back when I'm stronger, and I'll ask for you specifically." He says this with a smile and you can tell that the younger boy has assigned you as his own personal goal to beat. As the kid leaves, Andrew comes through the door behind you and hands you a Super Potion for Celeste. "Good fight, I think you'll do fine here." As you tend to Celeste's wounds Ben pipes up again inside your head, Another battler here. Wanna go round two? At your consent an older man with a plaid shirt and blue jeans enters. He nods to you and awaits your rules.
Mika:
Solara darts forth and spits a gout of flames at the grey ghost. It seems to severely damage it. In response its eyes flash a brilliant red and Solara is unable to use Ember for the remainder of the encounter.

Blake nods as he takes the funds, and replies to the trainer, "I look forward to it."
Tending to Celeste's wounds, he pipes off a quick mental affirmative at Ben's question, and finishes treating his Umbreon before standing and looking at the newcomer. "Alright... one on one, no items not already held by the Pokemon, no Trainer interference, no burrow or flight above 3 meters, with a wager of ^400 sound good to you?"
Blake:
The man nods in acceptance and then releases his pokemon. Out of the light comes a huge bull, and it charges straight into Celeste, lowering it's horns for the impact. Celeste takes 22 damage.
Mika:
The ball flies straight at the ghost, absorbing him and falling to the ground. After two shakes, it bursts in half and the creature grows dark, grey turning black and all of a sudden Solara takes 10 Damage.

Blake winces as he sees Celeste take the hit, quickly scanning the opponent's Pokemon as he nods. "Run it down, Celeste!" The Umbreon nods, dashing forward and slamming fiercely into the bull.
Spoiler
Celeste: Pursuit - AC: (1d20)[9] v 2 + Phys Evasion, (1d12+16)[18] Dark Damage plus (1d12+6)[16] on Crit
Blake:
Celeste moves quickly, nipping at the bull's flanks and drawing a bit of blood. The older trainer calls out, "Okay Stayke, distract it." The large bull with the ironic name whips it's three tails at the Umbreon, unnerving her enough to lower her defenses 1 CS.
Mika:
The pokeball flies wildly off course and breaks against a tree. The ghost, seeing you unable to deter it, floats upwards and escapes from you. Your pokedex chimes in that it was a Duskull, and after it leaves Solara is once again able to spit fire. It's about 12:30 PM.

Blake watches the exchange, blinking at the name before calling out, "Tackle it, Celeste!" The Umbreon circles around and charges the bull Pokemon once again.
Spoiler
Celeste: Tackle - AC: (1d20)[5] v 3 + Phys Evasion, (2d8+14)[23] Normal Damage plus (2d8+6)[12] on Crit
